Greetings and thank you for your time. I am so tired of every update changing how Firefox Android handles video and audio file types ~ MIMEs. I want a permanent setting to propting us , to ask us what I want to do when we click on a video or audio link. Maybe everyone else just wants to play it. But I don't and I'm sure I'm not alone. -_-
It would be wonderful if Firefox Android would have the same answers as Firefox for desktop specifically: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-firefox-behavior-when-open-file#w_download-actions
Maybe I'm not searching correctly but I spent hours searching for a solution before posting this question. Also for previous FFA versions this question is always being asked after every update! WHEN will we as a community stop disabling the ability to control what we do with audio and video links! -_-
Please do not suggest a third-party plugin when this is an innate browser function!
Thank you for your time and consideration.

I'm really upset! The new v79 has half the features and sync wasn't running: always shows "last sync on 1970" and didn't let me select what to sync. I cleared the cache, not solved... I cleared all my data, reconfigured, but still no sync! So I removed the app and manually installed the old one. Guess what? It still doesn't sync!!! Now I'm left with the Firefox I know and love but I can't use it because I have NO credentials and no bookmarks... I would like to kick someone...

Hi: For the past 1 week I'm trying to DOWNGRADE my Thunderbird Ver 78 to previous Ver 68, and have reviewed probably most of ALL the 'hundreds' articles involving this issue but it CLEARLY LOOKS that a large amount of users, including myself, have founded this process extremely confusing: I was able to download & install my previous 68-version of Thunderbird BUT I'm missing all bookmarks + messages + and General 68-Ver Settings (!), and I still do NOT entirely understand & know how to properly/correctly restore my original Thunderbird Ver 68 settings ...
The ENORMOUS ABUNDANCE of articles are greatly written BUT unfortunately very confusing for users who are NOT as 'deeply-knowledgeable' with Thunderbird as the experienced MOZILLA-experts so - could anyone from the great MOZILLA-experts put together and send us the 'step-by-step' instructions ONLY specifically related to 'Recover user data missing after Thunderbird update'. I strongly suggest NOT to just sending several links because this approach is not an effective HELP, and it mostly just results in further confusion of users. In advance - many thanks to ALL for your understanding and for helping us to make the great Thunderbird even better ...! Tony H.

Edited to correct some history -- so the followng transcript may be a bit out of synch -- I will state my current question below.
Two things happened at the same time -- I uninstalled Adobe Flash, and a Windows Update ran. I didn't notice the Windows update, so I blamed the wrong thing, the Flash uninstall. It was WIndows.
The Windows update caused all my bookmarks and history (and most cookies) to disappear. I'm on Firefox 68.10.0esr
I found my Profiles at C:\Users\[me]\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles but I don't understand what's in there enough to fish the bookmarks out, and I don't see anything that looks like "15 backups" promised by the Mozilla help pages.
Where are my Bookmark backups?

I like to open all urls and links in a new tab because then I don't loose the original tab's contents. So I have set browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInTabs to true. Alas if I click on a link in the history library it still replaces the actual tab. I know that I can do a middle click or a right click to get a new tab but I would appreciate if I could set the standard behavior to open a new tab. Is there a setting for this?
bold textwhere can I find the files in Firefox browser? Thanks!.

Linux debian 8 / Firefox 68.9.0ESR Since Firefox crashed on me a couple months ago, all online videos play at excessive speed (at least 5x normal speed, probably faster). There is also no longer any sound, but that could be due to the speed of the playback (sound in all other programs work fine)?
I have rebooted my computer a couple times since then, and tried creating a brand new profile, but there is no change. I've been running this version of firefox for several months so that hasn't changed. I also had not applied any updates to my OS recently before this problem started happening, although I did try updating after the problem showed up... still no resolution. I assume the crash has nothing to do with this problem since a clean profile hasn't made a difference.
I'm stumped. There are tons of google results about videos playing too slow, but I've found nothing about videos playing at lightning speed. Checking youtube directly, playback speed is set to normal although setting it to 0.25 slows it down enough I can at least see what's happening. I just don't know what else to look for?

Some years ago I pointed my Firefox cache drive to H:\Firefox. When I updated to 68esr I set the value in the GPO to the same folder. about:config shows the preference as locked.
Recently I decided to move the cache folder to the same drive as the profile folder. So I edited the group policy to point to F:\users\Tanya\Firefox. Updated the group policy and opened firefox. It continued to use H:\Firefox.
So set the policy to not configured and about:config showed h:\firefox. So as a test I set the group policy to iamcountessconsuelabananahammock (Not even a valid path name). No complaints, but firefox continued to write to h:\firefox.
So it seems the only purpose of the group policy is to lock the value, and the content of the GPO is not relevant at all. Is this by design
how to default to desktop mode. why is it not an option

Firefox account is verified and syncs on Linux (Debian, firefox esr). On android (actually android compat on sailfishos) the account can be signed into but is always flagged as requiring verification. Have purged app data to no avail. Tapping the box does not send a verification email. Not sure what else to try.

Hi! I'm looking for a way to remove the Android helper icon from the Firefox address bar (it lets me know the URL I have accessed can be opened in another app). I don't need it. I haven't found anything in the settings or anything obvious in about:config. The search functions here didn't return anything on this topic either - can anyone point me in the right direction?

Using Firefox 68.12.0ESR. I know 78 is available, I just haven't had the time to test it yet. I delete cookies when I exit Firefox. I want to keep some for sites that I trust, such as this site. I've added exceptions to Allow these trusted sites as documented on a thread somewhere else, but it doesn't work. All cookies are deleted.
Is it possible to keep cookies only for a select group of sites. eg. support.mozilla.com, tomshardware.com, mydigitallife.net, speedtest.net and so on.
Thank you.
