I couldn't find this in any forum (other than some very old threads that are no longer applicable or relevant), and I couldn't find an extension/add-on that does that either (or rather, I did find one, but it's discontinued and not compatible with current Thunderbird), but I want to store only the plain-text part of multipart messages (text + HTML) that I receive, deleting the HTML part.

The reason for this is that I need to save disk space. I'm a digital hoarder, and I archive every relevant email message I receive (I only don't store spam that escapes through the cracks and reaches me, and such disposable messages as 2FA login codes and the like). I have several sound reasons to do that, but old messages have been useful to me as reference countless times. I have about 86,000 emails stored, sorted into a variety of message folders by topic, correspondent, etc. Some date as far back as 1996, having survived lots of account, email client, and hardware migrations through diligent backups and restores.

This results in a very large disk usage, and I must minimize it, for both space itself and backup time reasons. And the difference in size can be dramatic. Just one newsletter that I'm subscribed to sends me 3-4 messages a day, of which I'll probably keep two, but each full message is about 120–150 kB. Stripped of the HTML (and still totally readable and functional), that drops to just 10–12 kB. Now multiply that difference by the volume in one year.

I'm testing and evaluating Thunderbird to replace my current email client, which is excellent and designed for power users, but also very buggy, they're slow to fix the bugs, and this is getting on my nerves. That's why I'm looking for an alternative, and so far, Thunderbird is doing an excellent job in ticking off the list of features I need (and passed my message import tests from the old mailer with flying colors), except for this one feature, which can be a dealbreaker.

I just want to put in a request to correct whatever code issues that stopped the plugin xPunge from working starting with TB 140.0.1. I upgraded to this version without knowing there would be this issue. Rather than roll back, I was hoping it would be something that would be resolved quickly, as I know there has been a lot of work on the code for compacting folders recently. I like to keep my folders in good condition, emptying the trash and compacting folders regularly throughout the day. That is a very tedious process when you have four different accounts. xPunge solved that issue nicely. Thanks for the consideration. Do add-on settings get backed up when backing up a profile? I always have to manually install my add-ons when reinstalling a profile. I have one add-on that is a pain to set back up (Identity Chooser), and I have assumed the settings for it are lost.

I'm trying to get the calendar app working in a new Thunderbird installation. Some sites I use will not let me use them unless I stop using add blocking. I have not installed an add blocker so I am thinking it must be one in Firefox. Assuming this is true, how can I discontinue the add blocker at a specific site so I can access/read/use its contents. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide. Ken

I have been using Linkman for over 15 years and have a very large collection of bookmarks. Is there anyway to enable it? I'd hate abandon Firebox as I do need this extension please help.

Sites tell me they won't show the page unless I disable AdBlock. I had it many years ago, but uninstalled it years ago. It does not show up in my extensions list. So, what do I do? Thanks, Bob K

I PAID for "dark reader" I got the activation key but I cannot activate it because the instructions says go to "MORE" and there is NO "MORE"! I hunted all over the settings & extension & themes, but I cannot find anyplace to activate this extension. Did I just waste my money? I have poor vision, I NEED a dark page with white letters. Thanks to being a touch typist, I don't need to see the keybord or page to type but i can't see what I am typing on a dam w hite page! I now cannot click on "Email me when someone answers the threadil"

I was shocked to just now review "permissions" for the 2 Firefox extensions I have installed - an ad blocker and an RSS feed reader - and see that both have "Access your data for all websites" permission.

Looking that up, I found that means, "The extension could READ the content of any web page you visit, as well as data you enter into those web pages, such as USERNAMES and PASSWORDS!"

Seriously?

I realize Mozilla can read login and password info, but why in the world does an ad blocker or feed reader need the ability to read logins and passwords?

I realize login data may be practically impossible to separate from other FORM data, YET neither an ad blocker nor a feed reader should need to read page FORM INPUT data anyway!

Looks to me like Mozilla is being way too lax in allowing extension permissions not needed.

In particular, if any extension can read account login and password data, there should be a pop-up warning, and IMO such should not be allowed where not required.

I have a number of computers that I would like to have configured identically, including Firefox's extensions. Is there a mechanism that I could use to automatically install a list of extensions on my (linux, windows) computers?

My gyazo extension stopped working .. i can not access my gyazo acc with firefox . i been using gyazo with firefox for years.. I was able to log in using chrome. But i like firefox. i have contacted gyazo support and ran threw all the listed trouble shooting steps. This just started in the past few days. Idk if there was a update or windows update or what . i tried everything . Anything you can add would be great.

This is the page i get when i try to log in. "Checking your browser before accessing gyazo.com ... Click here if you are not automatically redirected after 5 seconds." then nothing happens.

Mozilla has disabled the 1Password extension. I've used this version of 1Password extension for years without issue so do not share Mozilla concerns. How do I override the disabling to continue using 1Password as the risk is acceptable to me? It is more important to me to be able to use 1Passsword than Mozilla, so I'll switch to another browser if Mozilla won't let me make my own risk determination.

Dear Sir,

Firefox is not working with Rabby Wallet and Metamask extensions.

It does no pop-up the window to see the transaction and sign it. Firefox 134.0.1 (64-bit). Windows 10 Home.

On Metamask at least I can click on the pinned extension and see the window. However it´s not the expected behavior, because it should open the pop-up automatically. With Rabby wallet it is impossible to proceed, even clicking on the extension icon.

Please fix it.

Hi there all!

I have been using these Add-on's for years and suddenly this week they 'dropped off' - note the greyed out ones that no longer work. I did report the add on's via the button inside to the developers as potentially broken but I'm not sure how I would hear anything back from them about that. After about 4-5 days now they are still not working. I'm unsure why they are greyed out, and the others are not - why these stopped working and the others ok. Here are the screen shots of the ones I'm referring to! They were *VERY GOOD* add on's! I would super love them back.

If you have any advice please let me know.
