Hello,

When I go to update Firefox through the settings > general > firefox updates > check for updates, I am getting the error in the title. I can manually download the app installer and update to the most current version which is what I did for version 125.0.1, yesterday.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox, installing the beta branch, refreshing firefox, running in troubleshooting mode, completely deleting all user firefox files, and I still get the error. No DNS resolver issues to the update server. No firewall issues. No network blocking (tested with other devices).

This issue started after March update to 124.0.1 and continues to current stable release 125.0.1.

This issue also seems to extend to checking for extension updates.

I have two desktop icons for Firefox. Each opens to a different file. How do I clear the old file? What do I do about the message that Firefox can not update automatically? Where do I look to see Firefox file and see what date it is downloaded? If it is operational? Why is the same series of problems repeating daily?

Old computer: Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit Thunderbird 115.10.0 32-bit (Don't know why it's 32-bit version on a 64-bit computer or whether that's relevant)

The Profiles folder is here (with 5 profiles): C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles

The new computer is Windows 11 Pro, 64-bit I just installed Thunderbird (V115.10.0 (64-bit) on the new computer.

On the new computer, the Profiles folder is here: C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles

I basically took the Profiles folder that came with the Thunderbird installation, renamed it (Profiles.orig) and copied in the Profiles folder from the old computer in its place. When I start up Thunderbird, I get this error message:

           Your Thunderbird profile cannon be loaded.  It may be missing or inaccessible

What am I doing wrong? I've updated Thunderbird on the old computer and copied the Profiles folder over to the new computer again. Same result.

Could it be 1. an issue with the user name on the old computer is different than the one I'm using on the new computer? 2. All files on the new computer are set up as local (the user on the old computer started out as a Microsoft user but I made it local so as not to have to use OneDrive).

I'm stumped. Any help will be very much appreciated. If you need any more details I'm happy to provide them.

According to Help>About Thubderbird the current version is 115. But searches in my browser tells me the latest version is 105.

Am I not searching deep enough?

Installation aborted because the add-on appears to be corrupt.

I am using Firefox Developper Edition, with extensions.langpacks.signatures.required set to false.

This addon, after download, installs fine as a temporary addon.

How can I install it permanently?

I've been using TB on 2 of my smaller email accounts for several months and really like the way it operates. I'm nearly ready to add my main email account (web-based Outlook) to TB but have one final question. If I add the account to TB, give it a fair try, and just don't like the results, can I simply delete that account from TB and go back to accessing it via its website? I have confirmed that POP is disabled for my Outlook account so I understand all email remains on the server until I remove it. I also understand TB would leave the email from the account on the same server, again pending some action I might take to remove it. So it would seem that I could delete the account from TB and revert to web-based access for the account, just as I'm doing now, and the folders and saved emails would still be there. Am I overlooking anything?

Hi! On the latest version Mozilla Firefox 125.0.1 when i download .docx files i get the message 'File not downloaded: Potential security risk.' I select Allow download and the file downloaded can't be opened.

I am running version 125.0.3 (64-bit) on Windows 11, and I can't check for updates and have to manually download each new version after given a popup telling me that the latest Firefox update couldn't be installed. I've tried restarting the computer, tried running the Mozilla Maintenance Service, and installing the latest updates for Firefox and Windows 11. Nothing I've tried has worked, and no other help article has helped me thus far.

Prior to update 125.0.1 corporate intranet users could download PDF files from our Line of Business applications / Webpages. Today after the latest update the PDF files download but are corrupted. The site was added to the trusted webpage without improvement.

Adobe Acrobat Reader could not open ********.pdf because it is either not a supported file or because the file has been damaged

Not sure if this is a new 'feature' post-update but it's damn annoying. I was busily transferring some photos that I'd taken on my phone over to Firefox on my Mac. Wasn't until I went to find them on the Mac where they would normally be and couldn't find them. Bit of digging, opening up the Download 'history' on Firefox and saw "File not downloaded: possible security risk".

I can see that I can disable this 'feature' but it seems to be a global "allow". Is there any way I can tell Firefox to allow any downloads from my devices on my network yet warn for potentially insecure downloads from the web?

Since installing Ubuntu 23.10 on my new desktop pc, Thunderbird is failing to see the account details in .thunderbird I copied all the files from my backup into a new account directory (/home/cfi/.thunderbird/y4xyxmli.default), a technique that has worked many times in the past, but not this time. Previously, thunderbird has simply taken the settings from the backed up files and used those to connect to my organisation's mail server. Any ideas? How can I force Thunderbird to read the old account settings?

Hello, I have problem with firefox. When I try download from facebook page files .docx, .xlsx (Microsoft Office) Firefox automatically download it as PDF and file is broken. I don't know how to repair this. Please help, it is very frustrating.

I have been forced by Rogers in Canada to migrate my internet service from their legacy internet service to Rogers Ignite with its Ignite (Comcast) gateway. My email accounts were supposed to be migrated automatically, but, for reasons unknown, were not, and a tech support representative had to migrate them from the old legacy service to Ignite. After that was done, I opened Thunderbird, and was asked to authenticate my 2 Rogers/Yahoo email accounts, one of which is my primary account, the other a secondary account. I was asked to authenticate the secondary account first, which went well. I then clicked on my primary account in the left-hand pane and was again asked to authenticate, but the dialogue box showed it was for the secondary account. Thinking that this secondary account authentication was just being repeated for no particular reason, and not thinking that the email address in the authentication request box could be changed, I clicked Agree. My primary account is now showing the exact same emails as are listed in the secondary account, and I'm extremely concerned that I will not be able to recover all of the thousands of emails in my primary account, many of which are business-related. When I log into my primary account on the Rogers/Yahoo mail website, the emails in the primary account are still showing, so I know they are still on the Rogers IMAP server. However, I really want to continue to use my primary account on Thunderbird. I'm not sure if I should delete the primary account and recreate it - the Rogers support tech said that deleting the account may result in an issue where my current password for a re-created primary account may not be recognized, so I'm leaving things as they are until I hear back. It the advice is to not delete and recreate the account, what steps can I take to recover the emails on my primary account in Thunderbird. We develop a system on D365 platform. On Chrome enviroment, I click the export option, it will download the excel file, I can open it on Excel. However, I click the export option on FireFox, it will download the excel file but I can't open it on Excel. When I use the notepad to open the file to see the content, I found the file become HTML content. I can see the file on web broswer. I don't know why the file content will be change HTML content when I use the Firefox to download it.

My email provider required me to migrate to a new server and advised setting up a new Account in Thunderbird. I did this and it successfully imported most or all of my stored emails from the old server. However, the import only preserved the first level of sub-folders (I have up to 3 levels). If I right-click on my email account in Thunderbird and choose Subscribe, I can still see the sub-folder structure there. Is there any way I can restore it so that it (a) shows the full collection of sub- and sub-sub folders in the tree; and (b) locates the correct emails in each sub-folder? If not, I face days of work to recreate sub-folders and move emails to their correct location. Thanks for any help!

My job requires me to download and open files in new tabs consistently. However, when I download these files, I don't want the download panel to obscure my vision. Can I disable it?

I had a functioning thunderbird, but do to my host provider I had to change some of the configuration (had (owl) suffix). This left 2 profiles. The new profile wouldn't work until I deleted the original. I did a save so I have all the files, now which ones need to be restored. ( a full file backup prior to adding new profile so all org profile files are available)

A profile directory displays all of the folders, 2 files for each folder a MSF and an MBX. Some also have a file type of File.

Which has to be copied, will the folders be created with the copy or do I need to create them in thunderbird first ?

Anyone know if there is a way to import Google Chrome extensions into Firefox. I am moving over and want to make it easy. When I search all I get is bookmarks which I know how to do.
