The Firefox homepage is constantly broadcasting privacy incentives and ways we can donate to improve a free web, yet they need the permission to access my camera, mic, files and so on in exchange for the use of their program? I find this very contradictory, and would love to hear more from Firefox. I understand that certain permissions are necessary but i find the request for these things to be intrusive and upsetting when it's coming from a company that pats itself on the back when it comes to privacy and the fight for a free and open Internet.

Please at least provide the option to turn permissions that aren't necessary for the operation of Firefox on Android, off. Camera and mic, are not integral parts of my web search past time and therefore, i don't believe they are any of the Mozilla corporations interest either.

If there are ways to get back some of the privacy taken away by these requests using Android, as i understand getting away from all these permissions from every app is futile.. Please let me know. Maybe an app that retains some of these permissions, or blocks access to apps from accessing then? If there are suggestions out there I'm open to suggestions, thank you.

I am downloading videos but I can not view their progress on the download page. They only appear after they're done downloading or a notification when they fail. What's wrong?

Firefox android randomly fails to download files. Usually it fails to download pdf file or images. Sometimes it gets right on its own after a while. But often I have to clear all data to bring browser back to work.

I closed an account that I had gmail send all my information from. Now that I want to download it, I can't due to the fact that it wants me to log into the account that no longer exists. If I try signing in to another account to try to download it will not let me. This is a brand new phone and I can't open my bank app due to a message that keeps reading " page management" ,have installed and Uninstaller it. Been to bank, TMobile site and simply nothing works and now i can't recover my downloads from an account that was closed even though I downloaded them cause it keeps sending me the email address of the account that's closed and won't accept another account to open the download. I download pictures frequently and have noticed an issue with Firefox. It appears that Firefox is accessing my files and replacing random pictures I had previously organized in my Pictures folder. Even though I declined the permission for Firefox to access my pictures, it somehow still reads my files and replacing them it likes to. How can I stop this behavior? It doesn’t happen with other browsers.

There is an easy way to replicate this issue on the Firefox release, beta, and nightly versions:

1. Download a picture.

2. Move the picture to any folder within the Pictures folder.

3. Redownload the same picture again.

4. Click "Open" directly and open in Google Photos.

5. Click the three dots in the top-right corner to confirm the file's location.

You will see that Firefox knows the new file location and opens it from there. This indicates that Firefox is accessing file information directly because the "Open" function wouldn’t work if a third-party app was responsible for managing it.

I'm migrating Thunderbird from my old Windows 10 computer to a new Windows 11 computer.

I've installed Thunderbird v115.12.2 and successfully moved all my accounts, emails, calendars, etc., to the new computer.

Several things are NOT working correctly, though:

1 - Settings will not open. Here is the message from the error console:

2 - Customize menu does not open

3 - The hamburger menu in the upper right corner does not open

4 - The spaces toolbar on the far left is missing

5 - Events and Tasks are missing from the menu

6 - My calendar is nowhere to be found - I can't find a way to access it (on my old computer, I clicked on the calendar icon in the spaces toolbar on the left side of the window)

Thunderbird on my old computer was also running v115.12.2 when I backed up the profile folder to move it.

I tried downgrading to Thunderbird v102. I had all of the same issues listed above PLUS all my accounts and emails disappeared. -- I've brought it back up to v115.12.2.

Could someone please help me get Thunderbird working correctly?

Firefox cannot access my bank account. Bank says hello to my name when I log in, but then keeps saying "loading" and can never show me what is in my bank accounts. Why?

I tried to log onto Youtube so I could make a few comments on a football game. They had to send me a code to my email (HOTMAIL) BTW I never received a code to LOG into YouTube. I used "Snip & Sketch" as I have many many times before but now I open a photo to edit it and Microsoft has taken over my photos. I mean as far as my editing capabilities. I've tried all the "OPEN WITH" options but can not get to the basic photo editor. Need some help here... Thanks in advance Steve

I wish to export, and not copy, a digital certificate so that I can import it to Keychain on my Mac. The only option in Firefox Browser on Mac is to copy, which means it only opens as a TextEdit and cannot be imported.

Any recommendations?

I have an older piece of equipment that I need to communicate with it and the 232 interface will only work through Firefox. I was told I can downgrade the current version to 3.0, which is what I need, but I cannot find out how. HELP

I have not been able to sign in to my firefox account. I recently re-installed windows and tried to log in in firefox but its giving the error "The request was blocked for security reasons". How do i fix it? Help me i have important bookmarks and websites that i don't want to lose.

i have been using Tor.browser as my default web browser on Macbook for months. Firefox is my 2nd, but two days ago, i was kicked out of Tor, cannot download/use it anymore and the reasons given are as follows:

"Tor.browser quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more detailed information." Ignore Report Reopen (options)

when i have deleted and tried to re-install tor browser, I get the notification that

"Tor Browser quit unexpectedly". No matter what I do

 (I have since done both, obviously & have tried many other things, including trying to Time Travel, which I am not 100% sure how to yet).  the Report states Firefox is responsible for blocking Tor.  how did this happen and suggestions on how to fix.  I have to access Tor to find some pertinent files etc. I have stored there.  thanks

I need step by step instructions to create my NEW account, because I couldn’t enter the code to confirm my account, and now I can’t sign in , or anything. I would like to sync everything as well. Please advise. Thank you

Outlook says that it will no longer let third party mail apps like Thunderbird to access Outlook email as of September 16, 2024? What do you recommend?
