On new device I downloaded Thunderbird from MS Store and I tried to copy my old profile, however despite successful copying to AppData\Local and AppData\Roaming, Thunderbird doesn't see the profile. I created a new profile to try renaming and replacing the files, but I noticed that folder for the new profile didn't appear in AppData locations. I tried to open them via 'about:profiles' and I received an error, I also tried to rename my old profile to new name I found there - but nothing helped. As my last attempt I tried to import files via Import Tool, but after choosing the correct folder, Thunderbird shows an error (more details are supposed to be in error console which I have no access to, as the files don't exist physically in AppData location). Export also failed as the file size exceeds 2 GB.

Is it somehow possible to successfully copy the profile to the version from MS Store? I'm sure that downloading installation file from Mozilla site would help, as I've been copying profiles many times before this way, but here I need to use MS Store as a single point of installations.

I could extract the Firefox apk from my phone and sideload this onto my quest, but I don't understand why Mozilla don't make an apk available for direct download or make Firefox available via the Meta store. The latter I can understand as it's more time an effort, but I'm at a loss regarding the direct apk availability.

Does anyone know why this is only downloadable via Google Play?

I had made a complete Timemachine backup, and migrated to a new mackbook Pro I do see my profile ( jgt4oy0r.default - 18GB) in ~/Library/thundebird When I launch Thunderbird, it seems it is pushing me to Account Setup.

Any clue?

Over the last several months I struggled to get Thunderbird to allow me to set up email accounts for POP3 mail handling. For now, I have the accounts added using IMAP mail handling; however, in trying to fix the problem I removed and reinstalled Thunderbird a number of times. As a result, I seem to have lost all my contacts. To be more precise, there are no entries when I click on Address Book.

I have a dim recollection of having read that TB saves multiple Profiles and that Profiles contain many things including downloaded email and address books. I hope that is the case and that there might exist an older version of a Profile that contains my address book. If that is true, I need help finding the older Profiles, determining if they contain my address book, and recovering the address book without disturbing my current TB install.

Can anyone confirm or deny my supposition? If confirmed, can anyone tell me how to go about recovering my address book? I'm running TB v.115.7.0 on Windows 10. I believe I'm up to date on both.

Hello Dear People,

I have been using Thunderbird to great satisfaction. When my computer of 10 1/2 years died, I started to use old laptop of my son who made me the second user. I d/l Thunderbird on my account and it all went well till a few days ago. No Thunderbird. I d/l again, profile not found/inaccessible. I did see advice here from last year, looking for the profile under Users, app data, roaming etc. but to no avail. There is no profile.

How to solve this problem? Also after d/l the set-up, the thumbnail looks strange, like half of the image as shown in the picture. I tried d/l a few times, same result. I was very content with the program. I want Thunderbird back!

Had to reformat and reinstall my Intel Mac with System 10.4.11. Can't download install dmg from the ftp site because my id and password don't get me into the FTP website.

We have been using Thunderbird with a Cox email account. Cox has just transferred all its customers to Yahoo. I want to use Thunderbird with Yahoo. How do I set that up?

HI Antone I have spent about two weeks on Google etc trying to export my Thunderbird address book to my Galaxy S20 5G. I just have failed miserably. I guess it's because I am 79 and tech has beaten me. Can anybody p[lease help. Cheers Alan Jones

Hello, I need to backup my Thunderbird instance on computer A to another computer B on the local LAN. Probably by installing Thunderbird on computer B and copying from A to B the Thunderbird message store, including all folders, messages and attachments. How is that done? Thank you.

To all a happy holiday season. It's time for another rousing rendition of an oldie, but goody! "Unable to login in at server. Probably wrong configuration,username or password."! Windows 11 version. So I utilize 3 different gmail account addresses. Accounts 1 & 2 loaded up fine. Account 3 has the exact display name, gmail address, and YES, the correct password. I have checked this on gmail from my windows 11 laptop, and my android email app which used Firefox as the browser to get to Google. Soooo...I know, right, it's been posted and somewhat answered here a zillion times. However it's never straightforward on whether its a corrected reply. NOTHING, and I mean, I've looked in every nook and cranny, uninstalled Tbird, reloaded. Cleared everything, cache, registry, tickets to see Taylor S. Nothing works. Yes, I checked for upgrades. Rebooted. Stepped away from computer, watched Seahawks win win win. Came back to computer. Still...nothing magically changed (you know that sometimes airing-it-out does work). Can anyone help here? Just trying to upload my email account. It has only partially completed the upload. Files are missing and alterations I made to my actual email account are not showing. Tried taking it off and reloading but has exactly the same errors!

This has been a headache. Cox has had us migrate our accounts to yahoo. I have been able to do most of my emails, but my husband had yahoo tech help him and one of his emails will not download to the thunderbird account. The tech did a pop.mail.yahoo with this one but created new imap accounts with the other two. I tried to create a new account but it says Incoming server aleady exists. So I deleted the account, shut down Thunderbird and brought it up and tried again. I got the same message.

I am new extremely tech savvy but know a little more than my husband. If someone could please help walk me through this, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

About a week ago I started getting these update error messages stating "Update available - Firefox couldn't update automatically. Download the new version". I've also tried clicking "Learn more" on the error message but it's a dead link. Going into the settings for updates I am set to auto update, but when I manually check for updates it says "Failed to check for updates".

The help article on this issue simply tells you to download and manually reinstall Firefox, but I'm having to do this nearly every day. I work in IT myself so I know a "bandaid" workaround when I see one. Is there a solution to this issue?

As everyone here knows, Thunderbird 115 is a hot mess; sadly, as they cycle through new releases, it sometimes gets worse, not better. It appears from my update history that 115.2.3 was the most stable of the 115 versions. I'd rather go back to 102 but it seems that the profile was modified in 115 so that it is no longer compatible with 102. Thus a 102 rollback might require quite a bit of work to reimport the profile into a clean install. And I have gigabytes of important mail.

I'm not on 115.4.3 and it is close to unusable, as they screwed up regression in a major bug, and my bugzilla on it has sat unanswered, other than requesting I be nice to the devs. So as a lower-risk option might be to roll back from 115.4.3 to 115.2.3. Has anyone tried anything like that, or know the safest way? I don't know what booby traps they've planted to prevent any rollbacks. Thanks!

I will add that if I set the default Outlook, it works (Now I have deleted it).

What should I do to make Thunderbird work?

I wish to install and use the Firefox browser on my old 64bit Windows 7 laptop.

I believe the last v115 will be the last Windows 7 compatible version of Firefox, if this is correct where can I find this or the correct version of Firefox to download and install on my Windows 7 laptop?

The Firefox website only seems to provide v119 now.

I bought my wife a new computer a while ago and have followed every solution I can find to trans fer the profile from her Windows 10 computer to her Windows 11. One problem is that Windows 11 repeatedly created two profiles xxxxxxxx.default and xxxxxxxx.default-release. I have made sure both computers are using Version 115.7.0. The file is much larger than 2Gb which articles suggest doing a backup. Copying the profile from Windows 10 or making a zipped backup is no problem, however, if I import or paste into either profile, nothing happens it does not let me. Once it did spend hours copying the Profile file only to say at the end this cannot be done . I should have copied the whole message. I do not use the Microsoft Cloud, is there a foolproof way of doing this and why does it create two profiles. Is it like Ubuntu where I need to be root?

I need to download & install TB ver 31.8.0 to a newly installed system running ubuntu 22.04.

My earler installation of TB 31.8.0 on my other computer has critical information on it, running under ubuntu 14.04. It's so old that i cannot access the internet on it.

So I'm hoping to install TB 31.8.0 on this new computer, copy my TB profile from my old computer to this new computer, then do the necessary updates to this newly installed version of TB 31.8.0 to bring it up to TB vers 115

I recently migrated data from my old MacBook Pro to a new MacBook Air. I installed Firefox on my new computer as it did not migrate. It installed fine but will not launch. Please help.
