Cox.com has decided to no longer have their own email server and switched their accounts to yahoo. I can read my email directly on Yahoo, but can't get their imap to work. I changed the imap and smtp settings to yahoo. Also, the email login has changed and I changed that in Thunderbird. With Cox, the login was just "username" and now it is "username@cox.net". When I made these changes in the account settings, my email account has disappeared from the inbox, but it is still in account settings. I am using a unified inbox with several accounts.

Cox will not help me with this, and I have been on hold with yahoo for an hour with no response. I have been messing with this for two days so I hope you can help me.

Sorry, posted recently and had then trouble finding out how to respond to help offered (jscher2000)! Noticed that the email version was "no-reply" so I didn't figure that would work! So, I tried to 'cut and paste' my reply (on a smartphone) and I ended up losing even the email reply text so here is a reconstruction. I tried the suggestions in order and the first one didn't have a "Restore previous session" option and the second one had "Recently closed windows" greyed out! And, when I entered "about.support" in the address bar (top rightish), I received a notice that I couldn't reach Google (Remember that I don't currently have internet access on my laptop). So, no joy there either! Can I not just change some current setting to prevent Firefox v 115.9lesr from saving the current 'Windows' and Tabs so that, when I again open Firefox, the previous session 'Windows' and Tabs would be used?!?

I was able to change some of my message pane background by adding the following to the userContent.css file:

Why do I still get these two dark gray areas (see attached)? What css do I need to add to get them to be the lighter grey?

My elderly mother has twice (in the last month alone!) been scammed by selecting the first thing that comes along in a Google search. I realize this is simply never going to change, and I need to take steps to prevent her from ever seeing any sponsored results of any kind, or any kind of address bar autocomplete suggestion.

I have taken several dozen hours of my personal time this past month to repair the damage from her first scam experience (that I know about!), and today's incident made me realize that I have to do much more customization of her browser than I previously imagined. When I told her to never fully trust a Google search, her reply was "but I used Firefox!", and that told me everything I needed to know. It simply cannot be left to her understanding of the internet.

The intended setup is an iPad and a Win11 laptop. I would like to set up Firefox so that the address bar is nothing but an address bar without any kind of autocomplete at all. Is this even possible?

Also, I obviously can't filter every scam known to man, but I would like to specifically block the kind of pop-ups and ads that scammers use. What is a good strategy for this specific purpose? I don't care about legitimate marketing ads, even though they're annoying to me personally.

Process is below: 1. I can successfully navigate to add-ins and choose and add-in to download 2. I can successfully click Add to Thunderbird 3. The screen in the attachment below is shown 4. I cannot get past this screen. If i click Add nothing happens and Thunderbird eventually shuts down.

I am using Debian Linux in a virual env on chromebook currently on version 115.10.1 (64-bit) of thunderbird.

in the firefox browser is there any way to see the casting the browser screen to chromecast on tv. similar to 'cast to media device' in edge browser or chrome browser.

I understand the basic differences between unread folders and unified folders what I don't understand is why two of nine my accounts are listed in both unified folders and unread (see circled in red) how do I remove the two accounts from unified folders or

add more to it
and what makes it confusing is that the subfolders aren't the same when listed in unified or unread

I recently purchased a new laptop and needed to migrate my old Thunderbird profiles. This is what I did: 1. Backed up profiles from old laptop 2. downloaded and installed latest version of Thunderbird on new laptop 3. coped profiles into \roaming directory 4. tested and successfully received emails and viewed all old emails.

The problem is that the Mail toolbar is nowhere to be found. Also, the calendar is missing. I tried right clicking on empty space and it only showed "menu bar" as an option. Attachment shows nothing in the toolbars option of View dropdown.

How can I set the email message sort to descending date for all folders in all accounts? With many accounts with many folders each, manually changing the sort from ascending to descending is a lot of needless work. A global default is needed, and if there is one, I can't find it.

I am attempting to transition to Thunderbird. I have become quickly familiar with the HTML/CSS underlying the UI, and with the older userChrome.css structure for personal customization.

However, I can not figure out how to change the default background color of the message composition window -- which exists in a separate window from the main message viewer window -- from #2a2a2e to basic white.

Cracking open a copy of omni.ja in the app package, the only ID that I can find that seem to possibly be relevant is #messageArea, found in the following .css files:

chrome/classic/skin/classic/messenger/messageQuotes.css chrome/classic/skin/classic/messenger/shared/editorContent.css chrome/classic/skin/classic/messenger/shared/messengercompose.css

I have tried to override the default #2a2a2e color of the message composition area in my userChrome.css file, but to no success. (By contrast, it was easy to change the background color of the message viewing area with #messagePane)

I have tried the obvious step of changing the background color to white in the color settings option. Even after multiple app restarts, this setting does not affect the dark grey default background of the composition window.

Is there a name to this window div and a class or ID that i could access and customize through my userChrome.css file?

I currently have a 'bad/rouge' session of Windows 7 Firefox (don't really know how that happened) open (7 'Windows', each with one empty Tab plus 1 'Window', with only 1 populated tab (Yahoo Mail)! I need to close Firefox in order to restart my laptop (strange things have been happening, including not being able to access the internet)!! On restarting, I want to be able to open Firefox with the previous session I had with my 8 'Windows', each with dozens and dozens of Tabs! Please help, I sorely need those many 'Windows' and Tabs!!!

"Not sure what you installed and why. The Lightning add-on is no more. The calendar has been integrated into Thunderbird since quite a while. There is no need to install an add-on. "

So if Lightning is no longer valid - please remove old references to it!! How do I get the old plain calendar tab on????

I have managed to figure out ways to remove items from context menus from various pages here and around the web however it always seems to leave an additional unwanted separator line that I cannot find how to get rid of.

There are a number of additional lines I am looking to remove but the current one that is annoying me (based on most usage) is the additional line between 'Copy Link Without Site Tracking' and Search which is an add-on - Simple Context Search - https://tinyurl.com/yck5c (as shown in the attachment).

I did have 'search google for...' directly above the 'Search for Google' option which I removed.

I also removed 'Copy Link' which was above the 'Copy Link Without Site Tracking' option which I also removed.

Hope the above makes sense and any help greatfully appreciated.

Hi and thanks for your help. I was playing around with my DMARC settings for my new site and was looking around at who was hosting my WordPress domain for http://ibizignite.com, and Google directed me to GoDaddy. That was wrong. However, in my fooling around, somehow GoDaddy and this associate Westechnologies keeps popping up when I open up my browser after booting up my computer, and I cannot get rid of it. I don't know where to find it, because there is no associated extension anywhere in my extension list.

I tried to use another add-on to block it, and it does, but the darn site keeps appearing every startup after a fresh boot, and neither Westechnologies not GoDaddy appear anywhere in my Zone Map or anywhere else in my registry. Can anyone help me get rid of it please?

Please see the attached screenshot. I get this popup EVERY TIME I open FireFox. I've tried a number of different suggested "fixes" from Google Searches with no success.

I want this popup GONE.

Others asked and were pointed to extensions. As long as extensions get access to my pages, I'm not willing to use any. So, is there an option in advanced settings, to return to previously viewed tab when I close a tab? Thanks, Cat

I find it very difficult using Awsome screenshot, in fact I never use it, but used to use it, when it was on my tool bar, can I get it back there.

I cannot drag it from "customise tool bar" as it does not show there, it shows in my list of add ons, I have tried removing it, then reinstalling it.

I always want the address bar suggestions to start with my bookmarks. Is there a way to control the results? I remember there was something in about:config previously.
