Hello, Sorry to disturb but its been two days and I am unable to access my Google accounts (work and private) through Firefox in anyway. I have done all the basic fixes I can think of but with no success. I have deleted caches, checked plug ins, rebooted Firefox went through the trouble shooting mode, followed advice in the community forum, tried logging in from Google linked accounts. Spoke to our internal IT support at work but nothing has solved the issue as yet, spoke to Google support.

My assumption is that it has to be the browser as I am able to log into google with another browser but Firefox is my preferred browser and would like to use it again as such.

Please advise.

Hello! I am developing an application for an organization that uses Thunderbird in a Windows environment. Among other features, it is necessary to implement the transfer of mail client settings from one workstation to another. Built-in Mozilla Thunderbird tools are not suitable. I am still considering implementation options (autoconfig or direct work with files), and I have several questions. I will be very grateful for any help. 1. What is the minimum required files in the appdata folder that I need to create (transfer) so that the profile works without errors on the new workstation? No need to transfer messages, they are all on the server, and offline work is not used 2. How does the installs.ini file work? I need to avoid creating a new profile when starting Thunderbird for the first time, do I need to create an entry in installs.ini, and if so, where can I get the correct installation code? 3. Is it possible to transfer saved passwords to a new workstation? What are the requirements for this? I am very grateful for any answers

I've closed an account on yahoo, but still have emails on my pc. How to avoid the credentials window very single time i open thunderbird, or any of the hundreds or maybe thousands emails? "Check for new messages at startup/every X minutes" are both off. Any clues?

Thunderbird v115.7.0 (32 bit) Win7 (32 bit) SP1.

I am trying to add another account, but when I fill in the account info (name, email address, and password,) it pops up an oauth2 verification window but the window "Fails to connect"

The title of the window is "Enter Credentials for (email address) on imap.comcast.net.

After some time, I get a "unable to connect" message.

I managed to copy some of the url, here is the beginning part https://oauth.xfinity.com/oauth/authorize?response_type=code&client_id=thunderbird-oauth&redirect_uri=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost&scope=https%3A%2F%2Femail.comcast.net%2F+profile+openid&code_challenge_method=S256&code_challenge=xhwuKlnA_c...

This has happened before for Google accounts too.

Is there a fix?

I recently purchased a new computer and want to setup Thunderbird to use my ATT Yahoo mail account. I went through the automatic process and got an "incorrect information" message. I tried Yahoo's instructions and they don't match what shows up in the account setup in Thunderbird. I am stuck and need some step by step instructions to set this up. At some stage, one of my Imap Inbox email accounts & its sub-folder have moved to the bottom of the list - under all other folders (Sent/Junk, etc). The Sent sub-folders for this email account are in the correct place. I have tried all solutions that I have found: Subscribing; unchecking only show subscribed; playing with the settings on the webmail server, reinstalling, etc & I still can't get it back to the top, where it's supposed to be. I have attached a screenshot as it was & how it now is (worse) after updating my OS to the latest. Does anybody have a solution for this scenario?

[Latest TB on MacOS Sequoia 15.3.1 (just updated from previous version).]

I am using two profiles. The way I open it is open Thunderbird to start the default one, then I go through "help" > "troubleshooting" to get to the page that shows the link "about:profiles" and then I click that link so I can Launch the other profile. Not end of the world, but not fun either to go through all these steps.

Is there any way to create some sort of shortcuts that direct Thunderbird which profile to open?

P.S. I tried playing with the Terminal as I found some references on how to use it to start the Profile Manager, but my Mac would not start any of that.

UNABLE TO RE-ADD MAIL ACCOUNTS TO THUNDERBIRD For the last three or four months I have been getting two separate messages in the bottom of the screen when opening Thunderbird on my laptop. "GMAIL settings are out of date" and "Yahoo settings are out of date". Then, a about a month ago when I opened Thunderbird I noticed that it was trying to download almost 3000 Gmail emails. I had always believed that only new Gmail messages would download on start up? Whilst this was happening it was impossiblle to do anything on my laptop as I had limited internet access. The only way I could see to stop this was to delete my Gmail account from Thunderbird. When I opened Thunderbird I continued to get the messages "settings are out of date" for each of my mail accounts. So I deleted my email accounts from Thunderbird with the intention of re-adding them. I then downloaded and re-installed Thunderbird to ensure I was on the latest version. I then tried to re-add my mail accounts, letting Thunderbird find and load the correct email settings for each account but I now get an error message saying "Unable to Log In at Server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password". Refer to attached screenshot. I can log in to my Mail Accounts OK using Firefox so I know my username and password are correct. I also tried adding my mail accounts manually in Thunderbird but I contiue to get the same message. I am unable to add my mail accounts to Thunderbird and I have run out of ideas regarding diagnosis and resolution. I need help please.

Using Thunderbird 128.7.1esr under Windows 11. I've got a batch of ancient mail that I would like to search. The archive is sitting on an external drive with folders named *. sbd, files named *.msf, and files with no extension. A quick peek at some of those with no extension reveals e-mail messages of the kind I'd like to be able to search.

I seem to recall being able to open such archives from within Thunderbird, but it was decades ago and I'm a little lost. EDIT: I just reinstalled ImportExportTools NG, but I don't see how to proceed.

How can I open or import these? Again, I just want to be able to browse and search.

Hello Guys,

First of all I was using outlook but since with new update there's bunch of annoying stuff, limitations and ads everywhere, even tho If I force to use old app still get that "Update Outlook" & "Try new outlook" notifications. Thats pretty annoying so I decided to go use Thunderbird. but I have been experiencing significant synchronization issues with my Hotmail (Outlook.com) accounts in Thunderbird. Specifically, when I add more than one Hotmail account, the folders for those accounts do not appear at all. Additionally, when I attempt to send a test email, it shows as “sending” but then the process hangs, nothing happens.

To resolve the issue, I have tried:

  • Removing and Re-adding Accounts:

I removed all my Hotmail accounts from Thunderbird and re-added them. During the re-adding process, I cleared the saved passwords (so that the login prompts would reappear) and manually configured the account settings (IMAP server, SMTP server, etc.) & cleared caches on %AppData% Thunderbird>Profile>Imap folder

  • Connection Settings:

I verified that the incoming and outgoing server settings are correct (IMAP: port 993 with SSL/TLS; SMTP: port 587 with STARTTLS) and that the authentication method is set to OAuth2.

  • Rebuilding Profile Indexes:

I backed up and deleted the local index files (.msf files) in my Thunderbird profile for the affected folders so that Thunderbird would rebuild them.

  • Security Software Check:

I temporarily disabled my antivirus/firewall software to rule out any interference with the connections.

Despite these efforts, after re-adding the accounts, the folders still do not synchronize, and during a test email send, the message remains stuck in the “sending” or "Hanging" what ever you call it.

So I need help :D

I have successfully set up one of my email accounts in Thunderbird, so I know the software works as installed. However when I tried to set up my gmail account, and I get to the sign in with Google popup, I get an error saying that the request cannot be performed because it is "malformed". 1. I have not entry "DisableFirefoxAccounts" in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox". 2. I have no policies.json file in firefox directory. 3. I have a message "Your browser is being managed by your organization." in "Settings" (about:preferences). 4. In "about:policies" I have DisableFirefoxAccounts=TRUE. 5. in "about:config" identity.fxaccounts.enabled=false and grayed out.

Please help me to turn on the sync of bookmarks. All these listed issues obviously have something to do with it.
