Yes..I've read the solution for this. Create seperate SMPT accounts with their own unique user name connected to the account in question and make sure they have the right smpt user name etc (tools>account settings>outgoing server (SMPT)> EDIT.

I haver a list of all my hotmail (and yahoo) accounts in there with the appropriate SMPT settings and user names unique to each account.

But when sending an email, it STILL errors-out with something like 'user1@hotmail.com not allowed to send mail as username2@hotmail.co.uk'.

I don't know where to go with this - thunderbird appears to insist on mixing up the identities despite me telling it otherwise.

I have to add a office365 accounts. Everthing works, until Microsoft's popup window requires to sign in to MS 365.

When I click in "Sign In", nothing happens. The button becomes light blue for some seconds, then turns back to blue again.

The credentials are correct, there is no error message, nothing.

Probably a problem with the popup browser window?

Javascript is enabled. Anything else that could break this?

i have pop3 account and unchecked leave on server - but greyed and checked out is a 'leave for a maximum' which i have as 1 day, there doesnt seem to be an option to uncheck this? I dont want them on the server which is why i chose pop account. yet when i open web account, the emails already downloaded using the pop account are still there even thoug they were downloaded days ago. Why is this and how do stop this? is there a 'leave copy on server' box to uncheck that I am missing? i want to use pop to remove from server and just use locally but its not doing what i thought it would, which is remove from setver. Also it keeps repeating downloading from years ago so I was hoping that when the server synced it would stop downloading the ones it has already (mulitple times) I made an imap account to try to sort emails that way but it also shows old emails still on server. Should i delet this imap account as I already have a pop account running? Very confused. Help figuring out what to do appreciated.

Hi to all.

I've had one of my TB configured email accounts disabled so I cannot login to it. How can I avoid TB to show me again and again that it's not able to connect that account? I just want to keep the already received/sent emails there in TB but it goes on and on showing that message even if I don't work on that account via TB anymore.

I've tried to unflag the option to check new messages from the Server options, but it didn't work. I've also tried to move all the emails/folder on local folders via TB interface, but this was made just partially possible because TB tried to login possibly due to some still-not-downloaded old messages which where made impossible to move. Moving all to a local folder will let me delete the account from TB and set me free from that annoying message which is also causing TB to be resource consuming, I don't know why, so that the laptop fan goes crazy (in such case, quitting TB causes the laptop fan to be back in peace in seconds).

Hello, I received an email from Spectrum (.TWC) that I needed to change my password by Nov. 11th. I did change it last evening. Now today I cannot receive my email via Mozilla Thunderbird, I receive the pop up to Enter the Password when I open it. Can you help me with this. Thank you for your time and efforts.

Thunderbird was unable to find my Yahoo email to enable me to set up TB after Windows 11 took it off my computer. I was given a solution that partially worked and then, I don't know how, some fiddling about of my own got all my emails and everything seemed fine. But when I tried to read an email today, TB said it couldn't find my email address exactly as it had done before.

I have now removed Thunderbird with the hope that someone will be able to tell me how to set it up and find my email address - vervelu@ yahoo.com - so that it stays set up.

A second inbox has appeared in my Thunderbird email (desktop computer) called "inbox_conf(1)". It seems to replicate most of my regular inbox. What is this and how can I delete it if safe to do so?

When you connect a mailbox in the Thunderbird program, the server connection parameters are automatically loaded. There is an error in these parameters - instead of the imap.yandex.ru and smtp.yandex.ru are being imap.beget.com and smtp.beget.com . What do I need to do to automatically download the correct settings when the mailbox is connected?
