I am replacing an old laptop and want to transfer all my Firefox settings to the new one. I have gone into the Sync setting on both and checked all Sync options - including Open Tabs. However, when I select Sync Now on the new PC, my open tabs from the old PC are not set up. I noticed that there is a Synced Tab sidebar which invites me to Connect Another Device - but selecting that option just leads to an invitation to login on an IOS or Android device. But, I don't want the tabs from there - I want it from my old PC. I realaise I could simply recreate the tabs - but with a hundred or so active, this would be a very tedious exercise. What can I do please?

Yesterday I posted a query on this topic trying to find out how I can get my Android firefox app to scan QR codes to allow me to add other devices to my existing account. Although I haven't had a reply, I managed to find out how to perform the scanning operation from within the Firefox for Android app (V81.1.4). I set up all the permissions for the app in Settings and thought I was on my way to achieving the result when I found the 'Scan' symbol just above the search bar and tapped that. The QR scanner duly opened and scanned the code and I 'Allowed' the app to open the link. The page that opened announced: 'Pair using an app' and below it asked: 'Did you use the sustem camera? You must pair from within a Firefox app.' I repeated the exercise several times but got the same result. I do not understand why this is happening and why I cannot sync across my devices any more. It seemed to work fine without much intervention from me in the past, but since the recent upgrades the app is equally dysfunctional across all my devices. I sincerely hope that someone out there is able to set me straight.

I have Firefox on my desktop (Linux) which has all my saved passwords. Previously I've set up Firefox Sync for Android (browser and Lockwise), but as it has turned out, the password sync doesn't work, newly updated passwords won't get synced. I've delete my Firefox Account and deleted all data from the mobile apps. Created a new account and set up sync again and I still can see my old passwords on the mobile apps (browser and Lockwise). So where are they coming from? What can I do to sync my current passwords?

WHAT HAPPENED: 1. I signed out of Mozilla on the owners laptop and entered my own account information 2. As I signed out of my account, I checked the box "delete data from this device", so that my data would not be saved. 3. The owner entered their account email but Mozilla did not find it so the user created a new account using the same email address as prior.

THE PROBLEM: all data is missing including bookmarks, passwords, etc. It appears Mozilla sees the account as new. Even when the user logs into a site they frequent regularly, the site does not recognize the user and requires login and password and verification of the user. Seemingly like the device is registering as new to the site.

STEPS TAKEN TO RESOLVE - UNSUCCESSFUL 1. I used the restore bookmarks option to restore to a previous copy

    A. according to the user, the restored bookmarks are not current

2. I verified that there is only one profile for the user 3. I verified that the profile has data in the local drive and the profile default is set to read the profile on the local drive

NEED HELP: 1. Restore the account completely so that all sites recognize the device and all bookmarks are restored

Dear Sir/Ms, in my attempt to synchronise the old and new Firefox Beta browsers, I experienced an issue that was perplexing, to day the least. I could not sign in to my account on my Android mobile using the new Nightly Beta browser.


Initially, the login form would not accept my password and bizarrely, my old (disused and deleted) email address was shown, as though it were my current account email address. I closed the tab and started again, the procedure to sync the browsers. My password now accepted, I received the Authorisation Code, but it was not accepted; my old account email address again appearing, as though it were my current account details.

I attempted to use the QR code facility on Nightly Beta to sync the browsers, but my iOS Preview Beta browser is unsupported.

I searched the Community Forum for answers, but there were no questions that dealt specifically with the problem I was experiencing. I then attempted to contact Mozilla Support directly, to ask about a solution to the problem, but in order to do that, I had to sign in to my account, which, I was still unable to do. The only solution I could implement was to reset my password. Unfortunately, owing to replacing the old Preview Beta browser with the new a Nightly Beta browser on my Android mobile, I no longer have access to my Bookmarks and whatever else I chose to save.

I'm bringing these issues to your attention, because I think you will appreciate the fact that there are technical issues that need to be addressed.

Since updating to Android version 81.1.4 (which I don't particularly like as the whole fabric of the app renders it more difficult to use) I have had problems syncing across my Windows 10 desktop, my Apple MacBook Pro (OS X 10.15.7) and Android phone. It is as if the last update to both Android and the Windows version of Firefox have destroyed the syncing process that previously existed. Trying to follow the prescribed process for syncing has also proven difficult to the point of frustration. I seek a clear set of the steps involved with explanations of the steps that appear to me to have been omitted by the Firefox cognoscenti so that I can achieve the synchronisation of passwords and bookmarks across platforms. To help understand where I am at in the process and what is going wrong, I have tried to sync devices and add devices by opening Firefox on my Windows desktop and logging into my account. From there I select Account settings-Sync settings-Connect another device. This opens a new tab (Connect another device that has a dialogue box with a 'Show code' button. Clicking on the button produces another dialogue box with a Q-Code displayed that is supposed to 'scan in the code from within Sync settings'. From there on I am lost. I cannot discern any Q-code viewer within the sync settings on my Android device and using my camera results in nothing but an image of the code. Can someone please help with a clear explanation of what I need to do to synchronise Firefox across my platforms and restore my faith in the browser that has served me well for about the past two decades? I have neither the time nor inclination to trawl through all the KB articles that appear somewhat related but prove simply to add to my frustration with the product.

I don't know why I can't find any help articles on this, I can't possibly be the only one. My firefox account is not syncing between my devices. I am logged in to my firefox account on all of my devices. I only have one account. I can save a password on one, but it does not save on my account and I am not able to retrieve it between devices. What is the point of syncing if I can't access my passwords on other accounts? And yes, I have sync turned on. Also, why does it not auto fill across devices when the password is saved?? It seems like a useless feature.

Firefox sync has not been working for me for some time, and I'd like to get it operational again. I'm trying to sync between a Mac Pro (FF 81.0.2), a MacBook Pro (FF 81.0.2) and an iPhone 6 (FF Daylight 29.0). Nothing whatsover syncs.

So far, I've updated all browsers, and re-paired the iPhone with the QR code. I've also logged out of my FF accounts at the same time on all devices, and back in again. (That's what's recommended at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-sync-troubleshooting-and-tips#w_i-set-up-firefox-sync-but-nothing-is-syncing, though that links to a page that is said to be out of date).

I can't see any obvious errors in the computer names, or anything else.

Any suggestion for further investigation, please?

I have had Firefox for years on my IOS devices as well as my Mac OS lap tops. I replaced my10 year old macbook lap top in June and put on Firefox and now everytime I sign in I have to get a code sent to another e-mail address that is not on my lap top to put the code in on my lap top so I can continue to sign into Firefox. Why is this happening? This is beginning to be too much trouble to get on. Why is this necessary since having my new macbook laptop? I dont always have my Ipad or Iphone near me when I sign on to Firefox. This is also on my IOS devices. I have several e-mail and use Icloud email system just for that on lap top. Have gmail app seperate on desk top and aol on IOS devices or sign in from webmail.

Some years ago I set up an own firefox sync serven on a Rasperry Pi. Yesterday Firefox updated to Version 80 and now i can't sync anymore. There is a message "Connect with your account (again)" or similar - german version)) but after connecting (enter mailadress and password) the same message pops up again. And i am unable to sync :((( Any ideas how to fix this problem? I really want my own sync server instead of cloud services. "My data belongs to me" - you know.

Hi. Nowhere can I find a place to comment on the update. I am writing this in the hope that Technical Support will read this and will implement improvements in the future.

I update Firefox to version 79.0.5 on Android. The question is whether it is possible to restore this sharing in some options or do I just have to install an earlier version for it to work?

Before the update, when I shared any page from any browser, I had the option to "share to device" without having to launch the page on Firefox. It helped a lot, flipping the pages to the computer for reading later. Now, this option is unavailable.

Now, in the share menu I only have a "Firefox" icon and the page opens in my browser where I need to find the share icon and then find my device. It takes much more time and is less intuitive. The second thing, previously, the choice of the device was easier to read because the entire name was displayed. Now there is only the beginning part of the name.

I made a screen of what it looked like before (white theme) and now (black theme). Best regards.

I created my Firefox account with an old email address that is no longer accessible and will never be accessible again. I added a secondary email address long ago and made it primary. My account is logged in on my phone and my old laptop, both need repair, laptop data is probably gone. I logged in on my new laptop and a tablet, but had to change the password. Now Firefox does not know my logins and passwords, history, settings and preferences, bookmarks. It seems as if I have created a new account. How can I regain access to my old data?
