My yahoo homepage on firefox looks totally different than it did last week. Chrome and edge still look like the home page should but firefox does not. I screen shared with yahoo and they said it was a firefox issue. Anyone know how to make the homepage look like chromes and edge? I added pics from edge and firefox for comparison.

Workflow: I have a firefox instance already running. I want to launch a new firefox in safe-mode to test something without disrupting my existing firefox.

Problem: I try to launch a new firefox in safe mode using `firefox --safe-mode`, but firefox just opens a new window NOT in safe mode.

I think it may because firefox in safe-mode requires launching launching from a new instance rather than attaching to existing instance.

`firefox --help` shows a flag I can use:

--new-instance Open new instance, not a new window in running instance. --safe-mode Disables extensions and themes for this session.

So I run `firefox --safe-mode --new-instance`

now I get error popup with message:

"Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To use Firefox, you must first close the existing Firefox process, restart your device, or use a different profile."

Now I think what is the point of the flag "new-instance" if Firefox doesn't support multiple instances?

Regardless, how can I launch firefox in safe-mode without disrupting my existing firefox instance and without relying on creating a profile just for this?

Firefox sometimes continuously adds tabs for the same site I am using. Every time I X out of one, another one pops up. This multiplies alarmingly fast. I have Windows 10.

I use a MacBook AIr with OS 14.4.1 (Sonoma) and want to add a short cut link to Proton Mail (Free version) that I can put in my MacOS Dock. I am using Firefox 125.03 version.

I used to have a link in my Mac Dock but then I tried the trial of their desktop app-- and when that ended recently, I did not know how to set the Dock link up again. I tried directions for other browsers but they did not help.

'The link I want the short cut to go to is' https://account.proton.me/mail so I can sign right in to check my email.

So I checked Proton's support site for help but it has directions to do this ONLY from Safari and another browser, NOT Firefox.

If you can give me some straightforward directions to add the shortcut to Proton Mail sign in back to my Mac Dock, I would be grateful!

I really enjoy and feel safer using Firefox, by the way! thank you

something apparently got corrupted in firefox.. i tried running update and i keep getting failed to update.. i have refreshed.. i have uninstalled and reinstalled ...nothing. i am sure there is a folder or file somewhere that is corrupted and i cannnot find it. because even when i uninstall and reinstall fresh. all my bookmarks are there .. how to i start a TRUE NEW install??

I have been getting the "new version available, download now nag for over 2 weeks, and I have the latest version. Still get this issue repeatedly every day. Starting to become an every hour nag to update and install latest version of Firefox. Refuse to use Microsoft Edge or Chrome, and will switch off Firefox too if not rectified.

My Browser keeps on telling me there is an update... I've updated, reinstalled the latest version and it still keeps giving a pop-up saying there is an update...

How do I get rid of these pop-ups???

Firefox keeps reminding me that updates are available. I download and it says its installing but it doesn't seem to update. I have tried closing Firefox before running the installation but it makes no difference. I am on 125.02 at the moment.

I've been using the same firefox (installed every update) for over 10 years now and a lot of bookmarks have been accumulated. They are from different sources for different reasons/subjects/interests etc... I think when I reached ~430.000 or something like that it really slowed firefox down in a way that even clicking on a folder in the "bookmark symbol bar" (the one underneath the URL address fiel) takes 2-3 sec to open up and show the containing bookmarks. In the bm-manager going from one folder to another also takes a few seconds. I've now deleted about 40.000 but no change it's still lagging. and deleting 1000 takes about 1h.

I've looked but so far I couldn't find another tool or a better way to manage all these URLs WITH their title.

I still want to keep them, but managing them has become so slow and tedious. So if you have any suggestions especially for other tools to manage them....

I also think the possibility to export only a part of them (selected ones, or specific folders) would be helpful; maybe also a tool to clean up the database? (like defrag did for harddrives?). or split it to differnt files? I don't know.

I know 400.000 bookmarks are extreme... but well....

I am using theme called WhiteSur to imitate Safari, as that is the browser layout I prefer. However, this doesn't change the position of the close tab button and leaves it on the right hand side. I found a way to change it, using the code .tabbrowser-tab .tab-close-button {

 margin-left: -5px !important;
 margin-right: 2.5px !important;

} Unfortunately, this doesn't change based on the size of the tab, so if I set it to a size that is good for only having 1 tab, it will look bad or be off the screen for the other amounts of tabs. Is there a way to detect the width of the tab or the amount of tabs open and dynamically set the margins based off of this? So I could set it as (width-of-tab)-x and that would always keep the close tab button in the same spot, regardless of tab size. Thanks!

Hello:

I have installed and enabled sync under the same Mozilla account on my desktop and laptop. The only thing that seems NOT to sync between them is my add-ons. There was no sync error log when I checked. I have already tried logging out and logging back into my Mozilla account on both computers, turning off my antivirus real-time protection, double-checking my sync settings, and restarting both my computers.

This issue is beyond frustrating. Does anybody have any additional suggestions to save my sanity by correcting this issue? I would appreciate any assistance that is provided! Thank you!

Instagram page won't load. Doesn't load in Edge either. The proxy setting is off. It was loading yesterday, then today it won't. No malware detected by Mcafee or Spyhunter. My account is working fine from my phone.

I do not get my emails on my desktop. My email address ends with ---@ comcast.net. I can be reach via text on my Iphone. Thanks, Al Mizrahi

Web cam image on web page stopped working after last update. Using win 11. Tried refresh, worked last time but not this time, checked permission security settings. Can get the camera image on a tablet but not laptop. (lenovo) Anything I might have missed?
