I don't know if it is because i closed firefox task end, or if it is a bug from update to v119 (when i reopened firefox, there was the updated tab). But now when i fly my pointer on "recently closed tab", instead of only having the 15 last closed tab of my current firefox windows, i have also the 15 of each opened firefox windows. means if i have 2 page it show 30 tabs, etc. the first 15 being the tab of the current windows (ex: FF windows 1) and the 15 next for the other opened one (FF windows 2), when i check "recently closed tab" on the other windows it is reversed (the 15 first tab are the windows 2 closed ones, and the 15 next from the windows 1). It is me, or a global bug (or new feature). If the second, how to return to the former option (means having only the tab closed from the current windows showing)

After selecting Mozilla as my default browser, I tried to perform a search but the only page that loads is the page that wants you to download Mozilla on desktop and android, which I already have. Each time I've tried to do a search with Firefox this is the page that appears, no search results of any kind, but when I switch my search to duckduckgo and perform the search I get results. Can someone please help me understand why I can't perform a search using firefox?? Thank you in advance for your help!

An answer from legit source (longtime moderator or developer) is welcome. I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I couldn't find it and I'd like to make my point.

I didn't like the design of Firefox when they first started this design with so much space wasted for tabs and toolbar. Every time I open Firefox it feels odd with gigantic empty spaces if I come from Chrome/Vivaldi which are thoughtfully compact.

I have 14" laptop and Firefox makes the UX very less intuitive.

As of now, I'm using the workaround for compact mode that was posted in this forum numerous times. It says (not supported) beside compact mode which makes me feel like that this feature is going to be removed completely in the future. That's the tipping point where I will stop using Firefox completely.

I'm using firefox 119.0.1 Version on a Steam deck(SteamOS) and installed using the Discover app

when in browser i cannot click on the "Open the file browser" icon that appears on websites. Also i cannot open the Downloads folder within the Menu bar from firefox I tried entering into safe-mode and still couldn't open I also tried using another User Profile under "Right click Firefox -> firefox profile manager" to try to see if it was something from my user profile that was causing the issue but i also couldnt open in another profile.

I also tried on a different browser to see if it was my device problem but i could open it. i tried on Brave and Chrome and it worked.

i dont know what to do, this was working normally last week and now it doesnt work, Even in another profile with no configuration done no extension and not logged in the "Open file" button doesnt work

Whenever I try to download a rar file, like a game from itch.io,0 it automatically fails and doesn't download even after retrying multiple times.

I understand that the "Bookmarks Menu" Icon (see attached pic) can be used and then: 2) "Manage Bookmarks" can be selected (to get to the "Manage Bookmarks" <selection> screen).

But is there a 1-click Icon solution to access "Manage Bookmarks" (other than the keyboard one)? Or is there a link address that would access the "Manage Bookmarks" screen directly?

I use Kubuntu 23.04 with Firefox from mozillateam/ppa apt repository, got update to FF 119 today (package 119.0+build1-0ubuntu0.23.04.1~mt1) and after the update Firefox stopped using system-wide installed fonts (either from /usr/share/fonts or from ~/.local/share/fonts).

but when I try to apply the style `font-family: Gentium Plus`, `font-family: Iosevka`, or `font-family: Junicode` to an element, Firefox doesn’t use those fonts and instead in the element inspector I see Noto Serif is being used instead.

Before the update the appropriate system fonts were being chosen for rendering by Firefox.

Lately i found strange bug in FF 119.0 (ppa - deb, not snap version), ubuntu 23.10 I can't download any file to mounted ntfs volume. Firefox instead creates thousands of empty files. Once it was 10001 or 10003 other time it was 20000 of files. I tried private-window, no change. I have removed all add-ons - no change.

For example i was trying to download https://fedorapeople.org/groups/virt/virtio-win/direct-downloads/stable-virtio/virtio-win.iso and i ended with (only few last lines):

I am using MacOS Monterey 12.7.1 with the latest Firefox version. When in full screen mode, if I want to refresh the screen I move the mouse pointer to the top of the page to get the tools to display but when I move it down the the refresh button, it quickly hides again before I can refresh the page. Does anyone know of a solution to this or a keyboard shortcut I can use to do a page refresh while in full screen mode?

Firefox remebers my data for previously filled in forms - thats fine. BUtr how can I get it to know my basic data (name, email, phone number etc) for forms / sites I havent previously visited?

Lately, far too many websites I try to open, simply won't! Sometimes it's via links from my home page, sometimes it's links within various websites, like a newspaper, or social media, just whatever, no rhyme nor reason, nor consistency. Even when I manually input the url, nothing happens, the browser just sits there, nothing happens. I've restarted, I've refreshed websites, clicked on "open in new tab/window", nothing gets it to work.

Outlook recently made Edge or Chrome the default browser, with no possibility (as far as I can see) of choosing Firefox. In Outlook FILE/OPTIONS/ADVANCED, it seem impossible to choose Firefox.

How can I make Firefox the default browser. This situation occurred after recent update (October 2023).

When I open Vivaldi browser, the link in the address bar is highlighted right away. That's not the case in Firefox. Here I to either need triple click or use "CTRL A" The same is true when I open a new tab.

Is there a way to do that in Firefox?

UPDATE: when I use the troubleshooting method, i.e, WHAT HAPPENS is it appears to be trying to work, but it's on again, off again, with more than one extension appearing to be the problem. Very mystifying. The only time the problem is completely fixed appears to be when I close all the extensions. (So far.)

When I open YouTube, the search videos all show an image. Then when I select one, for the last two days now, that ("front page) image is gone - although the video plays OK.

When I us my Chrome browser the video I've selected begins playing the instant I open the video; even when I've opened the link in a new tab.

Hello, On 18th Oct this year, blogger would not let me upload picture files from my computer - it gives the message 'Allow google.com to use cookies - you will not be able to access your files if necessary cookies are turned off'. I click Accept but nothing happens, so I click close and the window goes away without solving the problem. Uploading and publishing blogs with images was working with no problem two days earlier. I was still logged into my gmail account and had not made any changes. This is what I have tried. 1 - Switched off enhanced tracking protection for this site, as suggested by Firefox. It allowed me to upload 1 image into a draft post but this had disappeared the next time I opened the draft. Since then I have been getting the error message and not been able to upload images. 2 - cleared the cookies from google, as suggested by firefox. No effect 3 - cleared the cache and site data as suggested. No effect. I followed this with closing Firefox and reloading, logging back in to gmail, and still the problem persists. I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek assistance with a persistent issue I have been experiencing in my Firefox browser. Despite my efforts to troubleshoot, I have encountered problems with various animations within the browser.

The specific issues include:

  Text Selection Animation: The animation for text selection does not function.

   Element Overflow Scroll: The animation for scrolling within elements in overflow does not work.

   Developer Menu Resizing (F12): The animation for resizing the developer menu (F12) is not functioning.

   Button Hover Effects: When hovering over elements such as buttons, the expected CSS :hover modifications do not occur.
   The cursor remains the same regardless of where it is moved. This is particularly problematic as the cursor often retains the icon corresponding to editable text even when over buttons.

Additionally, there are complications when resizing the browser window. Upon resizing, the window seems to "half" itself, making it impossible to drag or further resize. This behavior also hides the three standard buttons present in all windows.

An additional symptom is that when I initially open the browser, it functions perfectly. However, during usage, the first indication of a problem is the disappearance of the mouse cursor, requiring movement for a couple of seconds. From that point onward, all mentioned issues begin to manifest.

I have taken several steps to address these issues, including:

   Complete Firefox Reinstallation: I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox from scratch in an attempt to resolve the problem.

   ESR Version Testing: I experimented with the Extended Support Release (ESR) version of Firefox, but the issues persisted.

   Hardware Acceleration Disable: I disabled hardware acceleration to check if it was causing the problems, but the animations still did not work correctly.

Despite these efforts, the problems persist, and I am reaching out to seek your expert guidance in resolving these issues. Your assistance in this matter is highly appreciated.

I have just upgraded my desktop to Win11 and have an issue now with Firefox.

I have When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately checked, but when I open a bookmark or click on a link, the new tab opens, but FF does not switch to it immediately.

I've done a search here, but only find questions on how not to switch immediately. ;)
