I see where other people have posed this question but the procedure offered is not available to me.

I am using Firefox (Flatpak) version 121.0 on an Ubuntu 22.04 laptop.

On installing a new extension I should either see the extension's icon on my toolbar or else have a clear means of adding it. I have neither.

Clicking on the jigsaw icon in the toolbar, I get migrated to the about:addons page. On clicking the Extensions tab, I get the screen listing all installed extensions. Each extension has a ... icon beside it. But when I click on this, there is no "Pin To Toolbar" option.

What is wrong here ?

I just recently downloaded Thunderbird after using Mac Mail for years. Mail suddenly refused to display messages and no one on the Apple forum could figure out why. So I was advised to download Thunderbird. So far, I'm not a fan. Here are my issues: 1. Unread messages in the Inbox are in bold. But the bold is so close to the normal font that I can't tell them apart. Is there another, better way to mark unread messages? A tick/check mark? A coloured background? 2. Messages are automatically organised into conversations. But when the latest message comes in, the inbox message doesn't go bold. So there is no way of knowing where to find it. I have to go through all messages that have a conversation (more than one message in the inbox) and find one where the latest message is in bold at the bottom. It's a royal pain. I see the number next to the account on the left, but nothing is in bold on the right. Grrr. 3. The conversations are the wrong way up. I want the most recent message at the top, not the bottom. I would actually prefer not to have them in conversations at all, just the most recent message, but I realise that is probably asking too much. 4. There is no number next to the Thunderbird icon on my desktop when I get a message. I used to appreciate this in Mail. It told me if it was worth going to my inbox. With Thunderbird I have to open the program to find out. Ok, that's enough for now. I'd better not get started on the shortcomings of the search function, or how to bring the unread messages to the top of the inbox list... There are just too many issues to address is one posting. There used to be an extension called "IE Tab". It allowed you to right click on the link, and open the site in a tab, using Internet Explorer, for sites that didn't work properly in Firefox. I was wondering if anybody knows of any similar extension that would do the same for Edge? I can't open Twitter (X) using Firefox anymore, but I can open it using Edge. I don't like Edge (obviously), but I have no choice. Thanks in advance!!!

I'm at a loss here, problem is in subject line. This has happened for a long while and has persisted through various versions, I have attempted to:

- Alter my antivirus and internet protection settings to allow as much traffic as I can. - Download addons as XPInstall files and try and use the File -> Open File option in the Menu Bar - only returns a line about not having permission, despite having Admin permission.

My Firefox Version is the current 118.0.2 (see: attached image).

I'm trying to use a manual proxy server for Firefox. When entering the proxy address and port number, Firefox outlines the port number field in red and disables the OK button thus refusing to accept my assigned port number. I'm trying to use port number 29842 which was given to me by the proxy provider.

I installed one of the ad blockers, I can't remember which one. It's given me so much trouble that I thought to disable or delete it. I deleted the little icon ( a stop sign) that shows up on the far right of one of the menu bars (don't know the name of that bar but here it's the second one down). But websites still complain that I have an ad blocker. I've gone to 'add-ons and themes' but I can't find it. BTW, what's the difference between an add-on, a plug-in and an extension? Which one of those are ad blockers? How can I see and then delete whichever blocker I still have? Without the icon I can't even disable it for individual sites.

Every solution which I have found for Firefox 89 "Proton" so far which moves the Tabs Bar below the Navigation Bar (AKA "address bar"), with the Menu Bar above it, does NOT move the Tabs Bar below the Bookmarks Bar. The Bookmarks Bar appears to be overwritten and blank, and occupies space below the Menu Bar, Navigation Bar, and Tabs Bar. This empty space separates the three bars which are implemented and the content of the currently-selected tab below it.

Currently, my userChrome.css file is a copy posted by Cor-el (?):

Evidently, the text editor for this website does several things to the above original text that, frankly, seem unnecessary and undesirable. The .CSS file is just an unformatted text file, so what is the problem with simply copying its contents and pasting it in to the body of this post?

Which is also to say that I do NOT have a clue as to what any line in the file is meant to do, what effect it has, why it is even in the file at all, or why it is written in the way that it is. So DO NOT tell me that I "CAN" create a Cascading Style Sheet on my own when I cannot even modify one that has been provided.

On the face of it, something is missing from the above CSS text. What change needs to be made to the above content so that the Bookmark Bar will appear between the Navigation Bar and the Tabs Bar??

I normally have Dark Mode always enabled.

This week it's constantly switching to "Follow Device Theme" which then makes it the Light theme.

Interestingly, my phone's theme is also set to Dark mode so the Follow setting doesn't appear to work.

Help! When I try to change the text color in an email reply it brings me to the pop up to change the color but when I hit OK nothing changes. I've tried so many times/ways to change text color but it always stays black. I use to use this feature a lot to highlight certain text an it's frustrating because I can't do it anymore.

how can I restore to white, the black background on the Firefox Browser, even my menus have turned black. I have tried through my normal settings and although it states I have a white background. It doesn't

How do I mark a message in the spam folder as not being spam? Similar questions say to adjust this in webmail. I dont understand what this means. I have a gmail address and if I go into gmail directly there does not appears to be a spam folder there

I was in two minds whether to post this i not as quite minor really, that said Thunderbird will be my default email client on several machines so may as well get Q's out of the way.

Changed the font size for emails and folder text which is spot on, the only other thing would be to have the title bars or column headers (subject, correspondent, date and so on) in bold as a quick glance makes them seem part of the emails.

This option is probably available similar to changing the font inside config file but I may not be searching for the right thing, 'headers' returns results for the actual message format.

On another note, in case this pops up later on, while dragging icons from the toolbar selection tray the 'delete' button didn't quite make it, the button is no longer in the tray (as an option) or on the menu ?

I'm using Firefox 85.0.2 . . . I was doing this (below), to customize my header and footer, but in this version of FF, I no longer see this in Options - only in: about:config . . . keyword "footer" . . . there, I would have to change it for 5 different ways of printing (to printers or to PDF)

I need to get rid of printing the URL in the footer - many times, it's too long, and I don't need it.

Where did the Page Setup option go?

I see in the current Print Options, you have to go to - More Settings / Margin / Custom - to see those. Why would they put this so many levels down?

It used to be: File / Page Setup / Margins & Header/Footer . . . "Customize" Headers & Footers:

Option 1 (left) . . . there are two leading spaces:

Option 2 (left) . . . get rid of the ">"s, and just have the two leading spaces:

It worked in version 56 but now in version 97 and this no longer works?

I have visually-induced vertigo/supermarket syndrome.

I have a hard time aviding accidental scrolling in the new print modals. @#$%^ modals. Because of the accidental scrolling, because they scroll in front of other elements in the same window, and because the modals aren't designed for page down, and because they don't integrate with system-level print options, these don't work for me.

So far I've been using the system print dialogues instead of the Firefox and Thunderbird print modals, but I accidentally updated Thunderbird a few months ago, and lost access to the system print dialogues.

the newest update to version 97.0 was run automatically. Afterwards the new print preview appears although I have it disabeled in about:config (print.tab_modal.enabled --> false). I cannot get rid of it. It is very annoying as I cannot print my labels with that menu and always have to click once more to do so. Does anyone has a fix for this?

I'm hiding menu items using userChrome.css with option “toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets” set to “true”.

So I am hiding some menu items like for example

1. menu_find { display: none !important }

however though the menu item is gone how do I get rid of the ctrl-F menu shortcut...

I have many such menu items to remove so I need a generic solution to override the short-cut icons associated with the menu items I want to remove
