I'm reaching out to inquire if there's a method to perform silent updates for Firefox without the need to launch the browser. Our organization has deployed multiple browsers across over 400 PCs, and while Firefox is a common choice for many, a significant number of users do not actively use it. Consequently, Firefox does not get updated on these systems because it is not being opened. Is there a command line option or a similar tool we can utilize to initiate silent updates manually?

My places.sqlite file deleted all previous history on Jan 17th at about 11:07 PM all the way back to early December of 2023. Ccleaner was last run on Jan 11th and the browser settings are set to clear cache and cookies only. The computer was showing no issues and I did not discover the lost history until I pulled up the history four days later. The history identified only the past four days when the last week was selected. The sessionstore-backups folder showed files back to January 1st. What I cannot figure out is why the places. sqlite would just clear on its own and why I cannot activate any previous sessionstore file by following the mozilla firefox instructions below.

I only get the landing page with the option to restore the previous session grayed out. What common reasons are there for a places.sqlite file to wipe out a block of history and why would reactivate a previous session not work? Thanks!

I like Firefox / Mozilla. However, Chrome wants to be my default and I want to stay with Firefox / Mozilla. When I click on a link in my email or an article with a link, Chrome takes over! It has been happening for about a week or 2, and I don't want it to happen. Do you have any ideas about how I can stop this, please?

Our university uses a box.com app. It's basically box but personalized for our use. I have a number of documents that I cannot open using Firefox. When I switch to Chrome, I am able to access the documents. Any ideas? I'm thinking there is a setting in Firefox I need to change, but not sure which one.

Hello I've few servers with BMC cards for management. I need to connect for managing servers. I'm in a LAN with IP 10.11.225.x My server are in another site with the LAN management 10.91.x.x between the two sites we have a VPN IPsec Each time I try to connect Firefox said : You will be redirected to another web page for authorization After few second, the redirection is to an IP address 10.11.244.x. Firefox uses below 2ghz CPU speed when my laptop runs from battery when I'm watching YouTube videos and browsing. But YouTube when power adapter is ON, Firefox uses above 2Ghz speed when watching YouTube videos and browsing some web sites.

How do I recover the websites that I have been on and emails I get and emails I've sent to people If I delete my history? Is there any products I can buy that saves this information or maybe Firefox does it but a person has to ask them to restore/recover this information?

Not sure which is the cause. On multiple laptops and desktops after last Windows 11 update and then an immediate Firefox update, the software protection service of Windows 11 goes into high cpu mode consuming 40-50% of cpu when Firefox is opened. Running Firefox version 122.0 (64-bit) version. Tried in safe mode and still having issue. Just an FYI for developers to look into for next Firefox update.

I would like to ban the Quora website altogether but especially from answering searches I make. What I have found so far does not work. Any suggestions? If I can do that I might even do that to another website that I see no value in. Thank you.
