I have encountered a recurring issue specifically with Firefox where SVG images fail to display unless a pixel-defined height attribute is explicitly set. This behavior contrasts with other browsers, which handle SVG scaling seamlessly, typically adapting to the specified width or inheriting dimensions from parent elements.

During our website development, primarily through Elementor and leveraging Flexbox in a WordPress environment, this discrepancy becomes evident. The issue persists exclusively in Firefox, confirmed through extensive testing across various browsers and OS's with multiple SVG files and sites.

For diagnostic purposes, I recommend conducting controlled tests with SVG images embedded with our current setup. Set the SVGs to 100% width without defining their height and observe how they render in Firefox compared to other browsers. This should help ascertain whether the behavior in Firefox is anomalous.

I am assuming it may be with the way the markup of the SVG is rendered as it doesn't happen with all SVGs, however, other browsers appear to fix or override whatever is getting in the way from rendering...it is a strange issue.

I have included two images as an example. As you can see in the first image, the SVG isn't rendering (in Firefox) , but does render in Chrome/Safari. It only works when I define a height in px value on Firefox.

Please let me know if further information is required or if any specific steps need to be undertaken to address this issue.

There's also no way to add an exception? Just completely broken at the moment. I have to disable OCSP stapling to get it to work at all, which is less then ideal.

Currently using 125.0.3 (64-bit). I checked for newer versions of firefox and it's not saying anything. Chrome and Edge work fine. Encountered this on an android tablet with firefox, and went to desktop and hit the same thing.

I'm contacting you to ask for help with a problem I'm having with Mozilla Firefox when attempting to visit the website https://proroofingcontractorgreenville.com/. A few days ago I started having an issue where Youtube videos 1440p and up would frequently skip ahead, stutter or freeze and play audio only. They also stopped loading as quickly as they had before. This issue only happens in Firefox as when I watch Youtube on Chrome everything is fine. I've tried disabling extensions to no effect. Is this a known issue or does anyone have suggestions?

On my MacOS 10.15.7 system I upgraded from 125.0.2 to FF 126.0 this afternoon. When I started the new version of FF and acknowledged the "downloaded app OK" dialog all the tabs opened as expected except for WordsWithFriends (on Facebook). WWF draws the full board just fine but then throws a less than descriptive error message: "an error occurred. Please refresh." That is an infinite loop as it will return the same error no matter how many times retry is pressed. I logged out of FB and back in, just in case. No change. FB pages show fine, btw. Closed 126.0 and tried downgrading back to 125.0.2. That version with no longer load (or any of the previous four I had on hand). Consumes 100% of the CPU for about six minutes and then changes to Unresponsive in the Activity Monitor. WWF works fine in Safari and Chrome for what that is worth.

Hello, I'm using a document management system (SeedDMS for those who know) through Firefox 122.0.1 (64-bit, canonical 1.0, downloaded from packages.ubuntu.com for focal, running on Debian Bookworm, kernel 6.1.0-17-amd64/Debian 6.1.69-1 x86_64, X.Org X Server 1.21.1.7, KDE Plasma 5.27.5, KDE Framework 5.103.0, QT 5.15.8, i7-5820K, GeForce GTX 1070).

Within this document management system pdf.js (v4.0.379) is being used to preview/view PDF Documents. After starting Firefox the PDF view inside the DMS works fine until I suspend (to memory) and resume my machine. Regular HTML-content looks fine but the resumed DMS session shows only blank (all white) Pages inside the PDF view. Changing to a different PDF file doesn't help. The number and size of these pages is presented correctly. I can even select and copy (invisible) text from these blank PDF pages. The problem applies to all PDFs, whether they're single or multi paged, have images inside them (like with PDFs from a scanner) or not, etc. Reloading the page/closing reopening the affected browser window doesn't help, i.e. the problem persists.

I recently found out, that this also applies to PDF files directly opened inside Firefox (which also seems to use pdf.js as a PDF viewer), that is, this is not related to a specific site like my DMS.

The problem always persists until I kill Firefox and start it over.

Pdf.js seems to use a canvas inside a div (see screenshots attached) to draw the visual PDF content and another div to make the text layer selectable/searchable etc. I don't know what's happening to canvases on a system suspend/resume cycle in Firefox on Linux, but I suspect that's where the problem originates from.

This problem already affected older versions of Firefox and pdf.js.

Please let me know, if you need further information from my side to investigate that issue.

I use Firefox stable on both my Mac and my Win 11 PC. On the mac i use the developer edition. The issue I have started about 2-3 weeks ago. Most of the time, playing youtube 4k videos just either freezes and doesn't buffer, or just skips and reloads. It is not a network issue. I've tried playing back the same video with ARC on OSX (which is based on chromium) and with Chome on windows. It works flawlessly so it's not a network issue. I've tried disabling adblocker, all the extensions, nothing. It's either Youtube messing with non google products again or a problem with Firefox itself. I even have Youtube premium and this stuff still happens without adblockers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone

I've experienced a problem with Firefox on the Metacritic-Website. As you can see on the attached picture on the left, it's not possible to set a filter for "release date". There's no problem when I use Chrome (see picture on the right). The problem still persists when I start Firefox in safe-mode, so it's not related to an extension. I could replicate the problem on another system as well. Firefox on iOS has no problem setting the filter however. Do you know what the problem could be?

My API URL is giving me CORS Error in Mozilla Firefox, but in other browser there is no error. I have tried many methods like changing the about:config but it didn't make any difference. Its been days I am facing this issue. Kindly help. Thanks in Advance.

Some websites must log in again after reopening Firefox, like www.baidu.com of China. I didn't clear the cookies and histories when I closed the browser, and other sites like Google didn't have this problem. I've tried removing all extensions, that didn't fix the problem. This problem does not occur using other browsers.

This started recently, after I installed the latest upgrade of Firefox and the video downloader. Not happening on Safari or DuckDuckGo. I suspect they have spotted I am using Firefox and are lying about the connection problem. Any suggestions welcome. thanks!

SSIA for the most part. I am running firefox 124.0.1 on my macbook air and, only from certain senders, does the formatting look different from others - the font is different, and I can't highlight or click links. Almost seems like a picture instead of text - I can even click in the general area and it'll copy/paste it in Word like a picture.
