Every time I open Thunderbird it automatically downloads new e-mails from my internet service and deletes everything that was already in my in-box. The first time it did that the old e-mails were completely lost. Since then they have gone into the trash, so they can be retrieved, but I'm getting really sick and tired of having to dig everything out of the trash all the time, every single time. I thought there might be something in the settings to control this but I can't find anything there. I find myself using webmail all the time to avoid Thunderbird, but I got Thunderbird in the first place because I want an e-mail program on my computer. Is there a way to get Thunderbird under control? Or is this standard Thunderbird behavior and I should just start looking for a new e-mail program?
