Refresh Screen nags are beginning to take over my web-surfing experience. On InstaCart I get hundreds of Screen Refresh nags -- one right after the other. Blowing Screen Refresh nags out of the water won't hurt my feelings... InstaCart will generate thousands of Refresh Screen nags -- until I nuke it.

On new window (`Ctrl-N`) I want the focus to be on the url bar, not the homepage. I believe this is the default behavior if no homepage is set, but I want to set this behavior independent of the homepage setting.

Is there a setting for this?

I use Firefox on Raspberry pi os. I have a lot of help files saved in mht format. How can I open these files in Firefox? Chrome supports such files without additional configuration, but I would not like to use this browser on Raspbian, since it consumes much more resources than Firefox. It is undesirable to use a different format.

Hi, I am having an issue when I go to change the print settings for an email I am trying to print. All the drop down boxes ie, pages, paper size, margins etc. will not stay open and allow me to pick an option. I even had an issue with the drop down box above "which topic best describes your question" . I had to keep clicking it and if it did stay it was only for a second, but in the email print pane I cant even make a selection? Any help would be great as I print alot of emails and I don't always need the full email to print and like to select pages I would like to. Thanks

Hello all, there's quite a few threads on spacing in the message composition window but I have not seen a thread on this specific issue. Even though I have changed the style to "body text" instead of "paragraph" when I type text and then in a subsequent line start a numbered list or a bulleted list using the format buttons, thunderbird automatically includes an extra space. I don't want this. Is there a way to eliminate this extra line?

Every now and then the screen if my phone gets blank and regains it's gorm may be it seems some overlapping issues through system interventions as I could see a shared browser is present in my phone of wch I am not aware off. I am trying to install Adobe Flash player in Firefox 84.0 (the last version support Flash player) when running in a docker container (Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS). I had tried to run Firefox in my real machine (Linux 6.1.0-17-amd64 Debian 12) and it worked well. I just copy the file "libflashplayer.so" to the path "~/.mozilla/plugins". But when Firefox is running in a container, I do the same but it can't found Flash player plugin. No matter where I place the libflashplayer.so, like "~/.mozilla/plugins" or "/usr/lib/firefox/firefox", it don't work, I can't find Flash player in "about:plugins" or "about:addons". I start Firefox from a terminal and there is no error log. I have no idea why it can detect flash player plugin while running in a real system but don't work when running in a container. Thanks.

While this information helped me with my Ionos email accounts, the directions will work for anyone who has to add extra SMTP Servers to send email from various email accounts. Email providers are requiring that the sending email match the receiving email to reduce the amount of spam being sent from their servers. So this is not a question--rather directions after 3 hours on the help line to figure out the proper procedure to add additional SMTP Servers. I wrote the direction below for my own use, but this may help someone else. The critical clue is to restart Thunderbird during the process so the new SMTP Server info gets 'remembered' (I am not a programmer, so my simple words).

How to add additional SMTP Servers to Thunderbird (I am using v155.7.0)

To meet Ionos’ new security settings, you must now have each of your email accounts use an outgoing server that matches the incoming server.

1. Select account (name of the specific email account/mailbox); click on Account Settings (far upper right hand corner 2. The Outgoing Server (SMTP) will have to match the incoming server, so you will need to add an Outgoing Server (SMTP) that identifies with your account. You cannot add an Outgoing Server (SMTP) from this window. 3. Scroll down left side column until you see Outgoing Server (SMTP). Select that item. That will open the window ‘Outgoing Servers (SMTP) Settings’ where you may add new SMTP Servers. 4. Select Add... This will open a window ‘SMTP Server’. Enter a unique description for the SMTP Server so you can easily identify it to match it to the respective email account. This is very important to you can later tie it to the specific email account. 4a. (This configuration is specific to Ionos as of Feb 2024) Add the server name (ex. smtp.ionos.com) and the respective Port (465), Connection Security ‘SSL/TSL’ and Authentication ‘Normal Password’. User Name is your specific email address that will match this SMTP Server. Save (OK). 4b. Restart Thunderbird. Yes, really, close and reopen Thunderbird. This action will force Thunderbird to save and then recognize this new SMTP Server. If you don’t restart Thunderbird, it will not find the correctly configured SMTP Server and you will go crazy. 5. Go to the specific email account that you have setup the Outgoing Server (SMTP) and again open Account Settings (far upper right hand corner. At the bottom of the Account Settings screen is the Outgoing Server (SMTP) and the default server. Click on the dropdown box (little arrowhead pointing down) of the SMTP server to get the newly added SMTP Server and select the SMTP Server that matches the email of this account. The information is automatically saved. 6. Go into your specific email account and send an email. Thunderbird will ask for the email password. Input the correct password and click on the box to save the password. Your email will now work using that specific SMTP Server you created unique to your specific email account. 7. Repeat for each unique email account. Remember to clearly identify the newly created SMTP Server name and to restart Thunderbird for each new Outgoing Server (SMTP) or Thunderbird will not have the settings to work correctly with that specific email account. This is to prevent spammers from sending tons of emails from various accounts.

I would like to ban the Quora website altogether but especially from answering searches I make. What I have found so far does not work. Any suggestions? If I can do that I might even do that to another website that I see no value in. Thank you.

Some of incoming emails cannot find in inbox. Did not shows in my inbox. I must made some filter by accident which I cannot remove it. What I can do? I see them in inbox of other PC or mobile.

I'm looking for a shortcut/hotkey to focus the page.

The best I found is "Move to Next Frame", which is F6. When having the URL bar as focus, and no bookmark bar open, this will focus the page.

I have two questions here: - Is there a better way to focus the page? - If not, how can I remap F6 to a more usable hotkey?

I have found some threads with workaround like tabbing 2-3 times until the page is in focus. I'm looking for a single shortcut, having to press a key multiple times kinda defeats the purpose of a shortcut.

I have found information on how to remap hotkeys with either extensions or autoconfig, but I can't find which key I have to change. Extensions don't seem to include this key.

For autoconfig, I looked through view-source:chrome://browser/content/browser.xhtml and the Browser Toolbox to find this shortcut, but with no success. Maybe I looked at the wrong spot, maybe not all shortcuts are listed there?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Now, I got quite the few extensions, up to the amount, these cannot be brought into the Extension Bar. I could be wrong, however, there are possibly others with this issue.

Now, my question is, if Firefox could add a Grouping system within the Extensions Bar, basically drawers that you place on the Extensions Bar, which can be named (like "Writing Tools", "Saving Tools", ... .), and which act as drop-down menus, in which the extensions you placed in this drawer, to be listed when clicked? It would also clean up the Extensions Bar for people like me with many extensions, make it far more orderly ... .

Or, is there an extension which allows this?

I found any archived topic on not being able to customize the PDF Toolbar at all, from April 2023. But, over the weekend, my PRINT button has now moved from the first position to the last position. In fact, all 4 of the buttons have reversed themselves. It is now "Text, Draw, Image, & Print", instead of the normal Print first, etc. If we can not customize these buttons, how did they reverse themselves without my authorization? This really is inconvenient and bothers my OCD greatly.

I've had this problem since Supernova came out and it drives me nuts.

It has nothing to do with sorting or threading. I've read dozens and dozens of support threads about that. This problem has nothing to do with that.

Issue: There does not seem to be a way to force TB to use a default user-defined column view. The way *I* set up my columns is: Star/Attachments/From/Recipient/Thread/Subject/Received/Size. Other users will have their own preference on which columns to display in which order. I know I can change the displayed columns and replicate that to existing folders, cascading down for the account view. That's great.

However, whenever I create a new folder or change the name of a folder it will revert back to showing the columns TB used before. Same when I move a folder from one subfolder to another (which I suppose amounts to changing the name, in a way)

I wish there were a default I could set so that ANY new folder I create wherever in the account will have the same columns displayed. And that the columns displayed will stay the same when I change name of a folder.

I've also looked for an add-on that might accomplish this but could not find.

Awesome screenshot has a lot of users, but some aren't thrilled that you have to create an account.
