Hello, The scrolling speed of the different toolboxes in the software became much too fast with the pad on my computer (Zenbook 14"). It didn't do that before the last update. Am I the only one? I lose a lot of time every day with this bug.

I am running Thunderbird 91.3 which repeatedly pops up a message saying it wants to compact my folders. I do not see any option either in Preferences or in Account Settings for disabling this feature, as there was in previous versions. How can I stop TB from compacting my folders? Thanks.

I've installed Thunderbird on a new MacBook with macOS Monterey, and the application is not requesting permission to access the Mac's Contacts. As a result, the macOS Address Book is empty and cannot read my contacts on my Mac.

This issue was first raised two years ago in an issue that was identified as a bug and was subsequently fixed and closed. It appears this bug has reappeared.

What should happen is Thunderbird should generate a system request to ask the user to allow it to access "Contacts". This request never appears. When I look at my Mac's System Preferences, under Security & Privacy -> Contacts, there is no entry for Thunderbird. I can't manually add this; the app has to generate the request.

Looking at my console, I found the following warning when I started Thunderbird:

Refusing authorization request for service kTCCServiceAddressBook and subject Sub:{org.mozilla.thunderbird}Resp:{<TCCDProcess: identifier=org.mozilla.thunderbird, pid=9492, auid=501, euid=501, binary_path=/Applications/Thunderbird.app/Contents/MacOS/thunderbird>} without NSContactsUsageDescription key

This message was reported in the bug referenced above. I believe something has probably changed in the latest version of macOS which is causing Thunderbird to incorrectly request access to Contacts from the system.

Should I reopen the bug? Create a new bug? Please advise.

Regarding having correct settings for smtp server...After working fine for a couple of years, in May my Thunderbird email client starting getting an error when trying to send email, requiring having to wait and retry multiple times to get the email to send without getting the timeout error. I spent a lot of time in May to resolve without success, then a lot more time this month. I have tried several different settings for "Authentication method" and "Connection Security" The smtp settings specified by my email provider, WOW, either don't match the Thunderbird options, or result in error. A different set of settings I tried seem to work, as well as a variation of what a WOW rep emailed to me in May. However I wonder if either of these settings cause any security issues to be concerned about--that is my main question now, since sending email seems to be working fine again.

1) The other week I set smtp server settings to Authentication method: Normal password Connection Security: STARTTLS That has been working fine for a couple weeks without error. However since WOW says they don't support STARTTLS is that a problem to specify those settings?

2) What one WOW rep specified in May on a screen shot with a handwritten note: Authentication method: Normal password Connection Security: None However when I specify "Connection Security: None" the only option allowed for Authentication method is: "Password, transmitted insecurely." Email seems to work without error with those settings. However is "Password, transmitted insecurely" a problem? Or is that OK? (Transmitted Insecurely doesn't sound reassuring!)

In multiple calls and hours of time with my email provider, WOW, they say they don't have any information about what the settings should be for Thunderbird, and despite their efforts have not been very helpful. Recently YouTube videos have stopped playing when I'm using the Firefox browser on Windows 10. This has occurred both on my laptop and on my desktop computer. The player, surrounding website, comments, description, etc. all load correctly. The video does not, instead displaying either the video's thumbnail and a buffering symbol, or a blank black screen and a buffering symbol. The time codes on the video load correctly. Ads do not play either, and instead after about 15-30 seconds of buffering the "skip ad" button appears in the lower right hand corner of the video. Videos play normally on both Chrome and Edge, and all other media content appears to load correctly (music/spotify, videos on social media websites, etc.)

So far I have tried: - Running Firefox in troubleshoot mode - Refreshing Firefox - Clearing the cache - Disabling and re-enabling hardware acceleration (didn't work either way) - Uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox - Rebooting my machine - Waiting for the problem to fix itself (it's been two weeks on my main desktop/tower and it's still not working).

At this point the only thing I haven't tried is messing with advanced config settings, and I'm avoiding that since I have no idea what any of them actually do (despite what certain reddit threads recommend).

As far as I'm aware, no specific update to either of my machines or Firefox has preceded the issue appearing. It's been going on on my desktop computer for about two weeks, the problem just started on my laptop last night.

It's worth nothing that I usually use UBlock Origin, Simple Tab Groups, and Facebook container. Those extensions are not currently installed since I had to reset my browser in the process of trying to fix the issue.

I can also confirm it's not an internet issue; speed tests show normal download/upload speeds for my wifi, and those have not varied since the issue began. All of my drivers are also currently up to date.

However, this does not have any effect in Firefox 94.0 on Ubuntu. Is this a bug/regression? Or is there some other way to disable the animation?

Why can't I online shop with Mozilla? For months now I have had to go to another browser to use websites and make purchases. It doesn't happen 100% of the time, but enough to have me consider using a different browser permanently. I have used Firefox for years and don't want to change. But, when I need to purchase things or even pay bills and it won't let me continue on to a site, it's an issue. And yes, I have cleared cache and cookies and it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Specific examples: I logged into a store that I have purchased from before to make a new purchase. I can browse the website, but when I add to cart and try to check out, nothing. No message, not anything to help me know what the issue is. I go to Edge, pull up the site, and complete my transaction.

Today I tried to log onto a site that we just set up an account with yesterday. It's to be a guarantor on an apt for my son. We set up the acct and went today to finish the requirements and it won't let me access it. Just keeps scrolling. I go to Edge, log in with no trouble.

I have the above showing on all my messages and no sender email address. It means I don't know who sent the message and I can't reply directly back. Another correspondent mentioned I needed to turn off the VPN but the link he gave me I cannot find the settings to do it.

I have been bouncing around with this daily for about two weeks, I have searched the help topics and the internet and asked every forum I know. I am nearly in tears with this!

Can anyone help me in a way that I can fix this. I am not a computer engineer so can re-write strings etc.

I know that I periodically need to compact my Thunderbird and I do that frequently. However, after I finish compacting Thunderbird will ask me again to compact it (maybe a couple of hours or a day later). For example, I receive a message that compacting will save 500 Mb of space, I compact it and a few hours later I receive a message saying that Thunderbird needs compacting and will save around 300 Mb of space. It seems that those "300 Mb" are always there and Thunderbird is unable to compact them. (hope my question was clear!). Thanks, Miguel

I’m trying to find information for Firefox Reality. One of the first things I did upon getting a new Oculus Quest 2 was to download Firefox VR. Imagine my dismay upon realizing that there is virtually no easy to access information regarding controller support, especially with regards to button mapping and what interactions that one can perform in Firefox using the controllers or perhaps even hand tracking. So throwing this out there so that so that I can hopefully learn something and perhaps someone else later on may have an easier time to search for instructions, controls, or key mapping might have an easier time as well

With the previous version of Mozilla Firefox, I was able to preview my work by passing privacy.file_unique_origin to false.

Now with the new update (95.0), it doesn't work anymore.

I live with Firefix always in full screen. I Don't like seeing any bars or buttons of any kind.

Befor the latest update, when I moved my mouse to the top of the screen my tabs popped down and in the top right corner was the standard icons for "minimize" "maximize" and "exit".

With the latest update the tabs are there but the 3 buttons have gone.

If I exit full screen (F11) then they are there again, but I dont want to have to exit full screen every time I change between programes which I do every few mins. I'd be popping pages in and out of full screen every few mins!

How do I get the buttons back all the time?

I have 6 gmail accounts which until last Thursday were all working fine on Thunderbird. However, I received an email for my main account from google telling me that they were switching on 2 step authentication, whether I wanted it or not.

After that imap stopped working for this 1 account. So I logged out of google for this account, and logged in again, using 2 step via phone. Still not working.

So I checked all my Imap settings with googles instructions, updated from the default smtp server, and still nothing.

Went back to google, and found I could switch off 2 step verification which I did. Thunderbird now partially works. I can download emails but when I come to send or save as draft, I get the error message as shown.

Windows 10, Firefox 91.4.0 (64bit)

i opened firefox (v.95) and tried opening up my email and found that all my saved passwords were gone from firefox on my computer. it said i should crate a firefox account to get my logins back so i did and i still could not access any of my web logins. so i searched the help pages. opened up my profile n made a backup of my key3, key4, n loginjson files, downloaded v.91 firefox esr and copied my key3 file into a new profile.

so i still dont have my web logins ... n now i have an outdated version of firefox with none of my bookmarks either. im sick of troubleshooting n my wifi is almost out for the month.

how do i get my web logins and bookmarks back so i dont have to spend hundreds of hours recreating them?
