I've been using the following in userChrome.css for many years

1. menu_close { display: -moz-box !important; }

to restore "Close Tab" in the File menu, based on cor-el's response regarding restoring menu_bookmarkAllTabs here:

This stopped working some time ago and I am finally getting around to asking why.

I do have toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets set to true, and other items in userChrome.css are working.

I am using 121.0 at home and 115.0 ESR at work and see the same (i.e. no "Close Tab"), in both cases on Debian testing. I do see this menu item when using the keyboard to open the File menu.

Any idea why this no longer works?

So Mozilla supports privacy rights- and I've supported Mozilla for that reason- but they want Whatsapp to be censored for "misinformation" ? How does that go together? Whatsapp was supposed to be encrypted and not even Whatsapp was supposed to know the content of messages. How would they know about misinformation? And how do they get to decide what's misinformation now?

One of my 3 emails is not downloading after not being on computer for 2 months.Other 2 work fine. On settings for that account the syn in the menu is not showing? Shows on the other two. On start up it downloaded messages but they don't show? Several had some malware that my antimalware took care of. Messaged downlload just fine on my phone for that account.

I had a crash on my desktop PC, possibly due to an erroneous action of mine, which occurred on December 20th, which has ended with my PC, which after entering the password, the screen locks to black.

I turned to my laptop as a salvation, but when I tried to open my email, for which I use Mozilla Thunderbird, at first I opened the home page, but my email accounts did not appear. Currently, it doesn't even open that page when you tap on that desktop icon.

I'm an 80-year-old male and I'm getting more and more clumsy with the SW of the PC, so I pray that if you can help me it's in a language for the very clumsy in computer matters. Something changed very recently, probably that new update. There are passwords and all manner of info I can't find....

I am missing MANY bookmarks I had in Firefox. Where did they go?

Can I somehow restore the previous version if necessary to recover them?

Had to replace FF with Chrome in order to play DRM content on my W11 laptop. I get message saying you are downloading remedy, but nothing ever changes. Would prefer to continue 15+ year relationship with FF, but seems like youre abandoning capabilities for DRM video content?

I have been using Thunderbird for a year. It is ok, but some problems are borderline un-tolerable. I have ~3500 emails in my IMAP account. I would like to keep more for a deeper search, but ok - I could handle that. And once in a while, about every month, I am doing something and the Thunderbird decides to re-download all my messages. And it locks me out of all emails for about 2 hours while this process is ongoing. I cannot open emails, I cannot answer - nothing.

I have no "cleaning" software, I do not mess up with the database file.

Is there a way to avoid this re-download? If not, is it possible to avoid the lock-out, to get emails usable while it does it - for example, download the most recent emails first and make them visible at least?

Hello, Linux environment is running on my chromebook, thunderbird has been installed. 2 issues: - When I try to install an extension, I always get a message "This extension will have permission to have unlimited access to thunderbird and the computer". and I'm stuck. The add button does not trigger any action. This does the same thing if I want to install a dictionary from the settings. - I have no access shared folders like my Drive on my Chromebook, despite having Linux sharing enabled. It seems that e-mails from one particular e-mail address, solidifi_values@solidifi.com are being blocked or filtered out as spam. I need Thunderbird to recognize this address and allow all e-mails from this address to be delivered to me. This is the second time I have posted this request. I would very much appreciated it if someone would call me @ 530 412-2260 or respond via e-mail to hartleyappraisal@mindspring.com

I'm using Firefox with Google as my default search engine. When ever I try to type in the Google search box, what I am typing appears in the address bar. I want to search in the Google search box as it is at eye level for what I am doing. I have tried all sorts of ideas from the web to fix this but no joy. Does anyone know how I disable this? I have Thunderbird on two PCs. Thunderbird stopped working on my older PC, Lenovo Z40, Windows 10. I uninstalled Thunderbird on that PC and tried to reinstall. I have downloaded the set up file, but when I open it tells me I need a Microsoft safe app and sends me to Edge browser. I looked at help website but can't see how to overcome this step to get to what is described on the Tunderbird UTube video. I have downloaded the Thunderbird set up file using Edge, Chrome and Firefox browsers. Same problem each time. Thanks

how to permanently keep the warning about closing multiple tabs?

Every so often, probably due to an unseen update, when I press the red X at the top of of a page where multiple tabs are open, to see how many tabs are open, they disappear, and the preference option to not close multiple tabs without warning (which says the # of tabs open), has to be turned back on.
