Many of the websites I access ask if I want them to remember my login info--username and password. For those that I trust, I indicate that I want them to remember this information, and for most I get an e-mail confirming that my device is registered. However, the next time I log in, I still have to go through the entire login. Is this a Firefox issue, and if so, how can I correct this?

Hello folks,
I need to do a clean install requiring the download of Thunderbird.exe file, I did ask a similar question a while ago but this was related to a Linux install.
Is it just me or does no one lese use checksums anymore, web sites would often suggest checking downloads publishing their checksums on the same pages as the download, this doesn't seem to be the case for Thunderbird hence my question below:
There's a directory list below, would it be safe to assume this relates to the latest download on Thunderbirds home page Version 115.7.0 https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/115.7.0/releasenotes/
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/115.7.0/
I had a quick look on Source Forge as they usually have a page with hash codes but couldn't find Thunderbird listed.
Thanks

Today I can not access my thunderbird email. Must be the Google issue, worked yesterday. I have updated to the latest 91.10.0 release and still have the issue. Appears the update that should have updated the settings for this google situation, did not apply. Followed the instructions for possible correction: changed the accept cookies to all copies and always. Do not see a Config Editor under the General Preferences. At least not an area labeled as such. Do not know the status of javascript within my system. Current passwords do not have the oauth preceding any password. What steps should I take to correct this issue and be able to retrieve my emaii? Could not find a phone number available to contact support on this matter. David Brunton

I've been using Firefox browser for Facebook and other online purposes for several years. Over much of that time I periodically (several times per week, minimum) get a small pop-up box, usually while I'm on Facebook, which is headed "Apple wants to make changes. Enter your password" The "USERNAME" box shows only my first name, John, (which is my admin password for the laptop) and the "PASSWORD" box is empty. No indication of what changes Apple wants to make, so I've never put my password in, and when I hit "cancel" I have to cancel three times before it goes away, only to show up sometimes within minutes, or sometimes days. Until today I'd not been able to get a diagnosis from Apple, but their help person, after a screen-sharing session today said it doesn't come from Apple and she suggested I contact Firefox Support and ask about it. So I'm asking. The screen shot below shows what it looks like, although I closed Firefox before i took this screen shot, just to see if the box would remain, and obviously, it did. Any thoughts as to whether this is somehow coming from Firefox? Thanks, John Jessup

Previously one could tap view, and see exactly all the transmission details of emails, especially spam or phishing, and I could highlight, copy and paste to send to SpamCop or phishing.gov.uk so the sender could be traced and blocked. This feature seems to have gone with the new update. Sorry if thick but am 79 yo Geri. Cheers and thanks

I don't mean "saving" login information for later use, that I do not want to do. What I mean by the login not being retained is that when I log-in to a website like say Amazon, while I'm browsing, I end up having to re-enter my login information pretty much every other time that I switch between pages. I've never had an issue like that with any other browser. Is there some setting I need to adjust to stop that from happening? As I said, I'm not looking to save my passwords and usernames within the browser, I just want to effectively browse a website after logging into it without needing to login every time I move between pages. Thanks!

Hello all,
I had been using firefox as the standard browser for years, but since the DNS-over-HTTPS feature I have had trouble with protecting my family on the web via DNS filtering. Currently the only solution that has worked is to use a different browser (the Spin browser, for whoever is interested). I have Firefox blocked using the Android family link feature (and they can't install new apps without permission). Personally, I would love to move everyone back to Firefox, but I can't find a way to do it safely. Is there a way to effectively disable DNS-over-HTTPS such that it can't be changed (kids are pretty quick at figuring out that they can just go to the settings and figuring out that they can turn the feautre back on). A parental control feature would be ideal, so I can just set the DNS-over-HTTPS to use the family DNS filter in a way they can't turn it off. Does anyone have an helpful solution, or is Firefox dead for family protection?
Respectfully, Andrew

Using Mozilla Firefox 108.0 for Ubuntu canonical 1.0 on Ubuntu 20.04.
Thanks.

I get dozens of emails stating, "It looks like you're using plain-text email" or something to that effect. I see this message when I merely highlight the email in the list but without opening the email by clicking on the list entry. "Allow remote content" is set to off.
How do they know?
Thanks.

In Thunderbird 1153.1 (MacOS), it appears that the "Delete" button next to the header information on a message whose content display is blocked per privacy settings is applied not to that individual message but rather to the folder containing it. There's (fortunately!!) a confirmation dialog warning that that entire folder would be deleted unrecoverably, but it seems non-intuitive and dangerous that the button's scope should change depending on the content display status. When the content is displayable, the button applies only to the individual message, as I'd expect.
