For YEARS I have successfully sent daily photos in my Thunderbird with no problem. Procedure: I highlight the photos to send, click "send to"/"mail recipient". Thunderbird then autonatically opens, with a box showing a choice of small, medium, large, or original size, and displays the overall total size in eacg case, so I can max the quality of what I send. I make my "total mb" choice, and click "attach". A blank email opens, I simply enter the destination email address , and all is sent. Simple., Done. Time after time. Today..EVERY time I do this (send/mail recipient/choose size/ attach) the email page now opens with abig square pop up on teling me i need to open an account! It says "IN ORDER TO RECEIVE MESSAGES YOU MUST FiRST SET UP AN ACCOUNT" ( I am trying to SEND anyway, not recieve) I have never had this problem , I am doing nothing different. I clearly DO have an account, as I have always been ablke to send photos and emails. I canNOT get past this and it is very frustrating. (Despite saying "choose account" It only offers one type anyway; a "Newsgroup" acct. I dont want one, and have never previously needed one. It was ALL working fine yesterday. Is this some glitch in the latest update? If s how doI go back to the one that actually worked? I send photos every day, to people bedridden, who need them; this is a serious problem for me. Running 98.02, Windows 10. Firefox keeps opening without all my tabs and other personalized information. Just a single tab or maybe 2 that have nothing to do with me. If I go to about:profiles, one of the profiles listed will (so far) have my lost information. When I recovered the first time, I quickly created a profile if the current, good configuration. However, now when the problem recurs and I go back to that profile I created, Firefox is once again a single tab of a URL I've never seen. I'm afraid I will lose everything!

BTW the first symptom was that when I clicked on a link in email (Outlook 2021), the link opened in a new Firefox window, not a new tab of the current window. This, despite telling Firefox not to do that in Settings and checking about:configuration to make sure it would not occur.

SOLVED!! (see Solution at bottom) How do I completely turn off BLOGS & NEWS FEEDS (B&NFs). This function somehow became active in my TB; I made no known changes to cause this function to become active. I want the Inbox Screen to always look like #1 Screen Shot Image.

When I open a link to a web page in an email message, I get the message: "You already have a subscription for this feed". This may be preceded by the message "Verifying the Link", then get the "You already ..." message the next time time the link is clicked on. In both cases the link is prevented from opening and B&NFs has been inserted into the left hand panel on my Inbox Page . This is seen in #2 Screen Shot Image.

In the left hand panel on the Inbox screen I right click B&NFs>select Settings>and get #3 Screen Shot Image. Then select Account Actions>Remove Account>[and remove the account]. see #4 Screen Shot Image.

When I return to the Inbox, B&NFs is removed and the screen again looks like #1 Screen Shot. But if I click again on a link in an email, the denial sequence repeats.

The link from the Mozilla Support suggestion “This does not solve my problem” generates the "You already have a subscription for this feed" message. So I cannot respond to say the problem is not solved; I have to again enter my request on the “TB request for help form”!

Solution: FF was not set as default browser. So, FF>Settings>General>Startup>"Always check if FF is your default browser" box is checked, get a smiley face, and the Blogs and News Feeds no longer interferes. I have no idea why this makes a difference, but it does.

Edit: I believe I now know how to get back to this thread.

I need to constantly copy/paste in my job -- quickly, I do online support -- and the latest version seems to have disabled the right click copy/paste menu. It either doesn't do it at all, or it pastes only the last word. I have to paste single sentences out of other paragraphs, or copy URLs. What's up with the functionality not working? It is a serious problem. I've used firefox happily and almost exclusively for years, but if this continues, I'll have to go to another browser. Fix the problem so copy/paste using the right click menu works for any amount of text from any source.

Is it possible to use some managment tool in corporate network of Thunderbird Clients? We have clients in our company deployed with one version when reinstalling workstations. As Thunderbird can be set so that it does not download the update, it is still in a state where at least it asks and the user clicks on it. The question is that is it possible to do this in some software or update center??? The point ist we dont have the control over the clients updates. We wont to release these updates for the whole company when we agree not when the users do so by accident. What often happens to us, the versions are then different and we would like to have it under control.

Imagine we replace 100 workstations a year. The version is the same. Time will pass and in 3 months it will be a mess. Is there any way to keep it in order ??? Tips on how to keep one version in a large network and then do a massive update on 100+ workstations.

This mess of various versions then causes a problem for users with different views and unnecessary problems in managing clients for administrators in our company. When we know that version 80 is good and then that 85 is good again or does not cause any problem in our environment after the tests. Then we will deploy it for everyone.

Apparently since version 91, I have an issue with Virtual Folders.

Current version is 91.3.0

In my "Sent" virtual folder, messages sent by Gmail do not appear in the overview list.

I tried to clarify the issue: - the messages sent through my Gmail accounts do not appear in the summary list, but they appear in the detailed folders - this problem concerns all my Gmail accounts and no other accounts (laposte.net, me.com). - this problem only concerns the SENT virtual folder, not the other virtual folders - I can make all the messages sent to reappear correctly, by going to the properties of the virtual folder, then "choose" and ticking the right folders. But when I quit Thunderbird and come back, the messages no longer appear (and the checkmarks for those folders have disappeared). - I arrive at the same result by deleting in the data of Thunderbird the folder "smart mailboxes" and the file "VirtualFolders.dat": at the first launch everything works, at the second one again, the unified view for the Gmail accounts is lost (and Gmail mailboxes do not appear in the VirtualFolders.dat file, section Sent ". They appear in all other sections.) - I deleted and recreated one of my Gmail accounts, without success.

All Emails received have thousands of unwanted text added to the bottom of the original message. Includes Microsoft Text, text from numerous companies, information of extraneous text that was not wanted.

Each email takes a large amount of time to view, due to the massive amount of text.

How do I get rid of this unwanted text ?.

Google services not working: OAuth2 failure when using Google Account

Whenever I configure in Thunderbird, OAuh2.0 with google, I get the pop up with prefilled account name as soon as starting up or synchronizing, but as soon as I click anything or type anything in the google box, the prefilled name disappears.

Refilling it does not work either, the page / box, just reloads and the (pre)filled name is gone. Logging in at the same time in a web-browser and staying logged in, does not work either. Switching on or off my VPN does not work either, (this has caused major problems in the past, to access my accounts anyway).

Only using "normal password" and the setting "allow unsecured apps" in Google, works as work around However Google is ending the support for this option in a month or so.

I have seen multiple (old) posts about this, but not found the one where my issue of a reloading page without prefilled name occurs..

Please advice, yeah stop using google hehe, no but seriously... wtf.

Suddenly to synchronize Thunderbird folders with my iCloud folders I need to do everything all over again to see all my folders. Before they would come up automatically. After a restart of Thunderbird nearly all folders of iCloud disappear and I have to struggle with "subscribe" to get them back. I had also installed "manually sort folders", that worked but I have disabled it as it seems not to help. Is there a way to keep all folders active even when restarting Thunderbird? It happens only with iCloud mail, other email are OK.
