Thunderbird 115/Ubuntu 22.04 stopped downloading messages from yahoo with no visible change about 2 months ago. Pop port can be accessed from console using telnet command. Retrieving pop messages from Gmail is OK. Here is quotation from error console

What should I do, that would secure the emails from many years back. I can see my email account and the emails, which were there when the problem started, but I can't open them without destroying them.

I can read new emails on my cell phone, but i need a lot of the emails, which are there, but I cant open them. I really hope, that you can help me. regards Ester Gregersen Denmark.

Up until a few weeks ago around 70% of my messages were prefixed ***SPAM*** even though most were not. This was not a problem, as I looked at the subject and sender and decided for myself. I now get no messages prefixed ***SPAM***, I can however, get these with webmail. I did not change any settings, this just happened. I have tried playing with the security spam settings but this does not fix the problem. My computer runs Linux Fedora, always the latest version. Any help/suggestions greatly appreciated. As you can see from the screenshot, the screen resolution is not optimized. It happens only with firefox and with this big screen (HP 27fh), on my laptop is fine. Please help, Iæd like to set Firefox as default browser

Thunderbird's Calendar displays time for events from Google's calendar (probably other network calendars too) incorrectly. For example, i create an event with "New Event", select "Calendar: <my gmail account>" and set "Start: 15:00", "End: 16:00", then "Save and Close". Thunderbird Calendar displays it as from 16:00 to 17:00. "Use system timezone" is selected in Calendar settings. When i open "Edit" dialog for the event, time in "Start:" and "End:" fields is also incorrect (16:00 and 17:00 respectively). However, when i go to "Options" and click "Show Timezones" it becomes correct (15:00 and 16:00). Disabling "Show Timezones" leads back to incorrect time. Web page and other applications display time for the same event correctly (as i set it during creation). The same error for events created not by Thunderbird but on web page or other applications. Thunderbird 115.9.0.

But i couldn't access my mail account in ThunderBird directly. So to solve this problem, i followed a youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpHdJZFISkQ (How to install and configure a mail server with Postfix, Dovecot, and Mozilla Thunderbird on Debian). I run this in the digitalOcean console: apt install dovecot-imapd dovecot-pop3d. But nothing changed. After that, i tried to access to ThunderBird manually :

Incoming server: IMAP- mail.example.com-993-ssl/tls-normal password-user

Outgoing server: mail.example.com-587-starttls-normal password-user. I could access the mail address but i couldn't send/receive mail to another user. How to solve this problem?

EDIT: I get this error message when i tried to send mail in ThunderBird: Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.mechanima.com.tr failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

I have noticed this the last few weeks, it worked directly after installing Thunderbird: This problem affects only newsgroups, but here does affect different servers. When I start Thunderbird the system pulls messages from the server without issue. I can then interact with the messages as normal, until the next pull happens (either automatic or manual via Get Messages). After this new messages show up in the lists, but if they had not been opened yet the contents of the message stay blank when selected, with "Loading message..." in the left lower status bar. This does not seem to change over time, loading the message never seems to end. At the same time composed messages cannot be sent, they are stuck at the state "Assembling Message" which they can't get out of.

We are a medium-sized company and are looking for a viable solution for sharing bookmarks between devices. Does anyone know what the maximum number of devices whose bookmarks can be synchronized with Fireofx is?

Some say five, but I cannot find an authoritative answer to this. Also, if that is true, is there some kind of bussiness solution for this kind of demand?

I spoke to BT who proved that Firefox and not Edge was the problem and there is a need to know how to remove entries which appear under the Firefox through either Autofill or Autosave or finally Autopopulate. This need arises from a problem which has arisen under username entry and which cannot be permanently removed.

I need some advice on how to resolve this problem!

Firefox 125.0 Beta 9. Why so much memory usage in background when Firefox is not open and in use? (See Screenshot). Never noticed this before on previous Beta versions. Otherwise this version works good and no crashes.

I have lost the password to my business account which is with gmail and wondered whether the Firefox software will be able to retrieve it. It is in my history, but when I click on it, it asks me for my password, which I cannot remember. I have made purchases using that account that I cannot chase up because I cannot get access to the account. Please help if you possibly can.

Having used Firefox browser for so many years now, just recently I am experiencing occasional links not working when my trusty Roboform (version 9.5.8.0) extension is enabled. The same links work fine with Roboform when tested in Edge and Chrome browsers which frustrates me as I do not want to switch from Firefox. I have tried removing the extension and reinstalling a fresh download, same for uninstalling Firefox. I have tried setting up a new Firefox profile. I have gone through every Firefox setting many times trying with or without although I have not actually modified any setting recently so I am fairly confident that this problem is due to a change in either Firefox or Roboform. I am using Firefox version 124.0.2 in Windows 11 23H2 (currently 22631.3374) and also use two other extensions, being Kaspersky Protection and Facebook Container which have been resident for a few years now. I can remove the other two extension individually but it is only by disabling the Roboform extension that enables me to view these troublesome links without any issue. An example is https://www.hughes.co.uk/product/kitchen-appliances/cooking/microwaves/hisense/h29mobs9hguk whereby if I click on any of the three "Flexi-Pay", "Delivery & Collection" or "Services" buttons on the right, there is no response when Roboform extension is installed. What can be unique/different about these links? I have naturally been in touch with Roboform but so far they have sadly not been able to help find me a solution, so I thought I should ask the experts at Firefox hoping that someone out there might just have experience of such an issue. Just as a separate observation, the Roboform extension is missing its icon when viewed in Add-ons Manager and also when viewed in the Firefox Add-ons library which I find very odd as that wasn't always the case. It is appearing normally in my Firefox Toolbar. Thank you in advance for any help offered.

Lately, when I try to download different files like .docx, .pptx, etc., Firefox always downloads files with a .pdf extension. I tried it in a different browser, and the problem does not occur there. Of course, the files are the same in binary terms, so when I change the extension, everything is fine, but it is annoying. What is wrong?

When I go to sites like google or bing, ect... I used to be able type multiple spaces between words now it only lets me type 1 space between words. Multiple spaces makes it easier to cut and paste when I'm doing multiple searches

Hi, I can't read some DRM protected media anymore (Prime video, Spotify) in Firefox in Windows10.

The error I get say that firefox doesn't have Widevine installed (but it does).

I can read the content with other browsers (Brave) so the problem is not Windows Media Foundation i guess?

What I already tried:

-untoggling/toggling Widevine in plugins

-reinstalling firefox and using a new profile

-using Firefox Nightly

-removing the drm folder from the profile and relaunching firefox

FF has been the browser of choice for me for years. Word Press has been the weblog platform of choice for almost as long. Recently, however, FF won't accept embedded links in new posts.

If I try to create an embedded link, the link text box flickers and won't allow the text for the link to be inserted.

At the suggestion of WP, I cleared the FF cache - to no effect.

I decided to try posting through another browser, Chrome. It worked fine.

Chrome could be a workaround for this, but I'd much prefer to use FF.

Any ideas?
