I have been very frustrated over the years working with tables in TB. I have now encountered a situation I can't solve.

I have a table already create in a draft message. I want to copy some of the cells from Excel into the cells of the email's table. But everything I've tried creates a new table with those copied cells. If I select the first cell of the target table, a table is create within that cell. At that point it is difficult to undo the paste or restore the table to the condition it was before the paste. If I copy tab and/or paragraph separated text it just pastes it into one cell.

Questions:

  • How can I copy and paste several table items from one app to another?
  • What are the ways to delete rows in a table that has had a table inserted into a cell?

An Undo will not remove the table or the 'missing' cells in the right column. Here is an example of the issue:

I want to sort alphabetically my subfolders. Look, on the image "before", I have the subfolders "22" and "23" that are in "2026-02-fevrier". I take them and drop them in "2026-03-mars", and you can see the result on the image "after". I want it to be in the right order, but its not. (22 is between 09 and 10, 23 is between 01 and 02...) Hello, I have an IMAP acocunt configured, the server is Zimbra and has several shared Inboxes inside my account. Each of these inboxes come with several subfolders (which have the same name in every Inbox), and I would only like to keep some of them displayed in Thunderbird, but the unsubscribe option does not work for a few of them.

I open up the "Subscribe" dialog, I can correctly navigate to the fiolders I want to unsubscribe and click them, which unchecks the mark. I click "Ok" and nothing happens. If I reopen the Subscribe dialog, the folders are checked, as if I did nothing.

Note that I can unsubscribe to most folder, only a couple of them have this problematic behavior.

I have tried enabling/disabling the "Show all folder" option in the Advanced account panel and Enabling/Disabling the local storage for these folders.

I have also tried to unsubscribe the folders, then manually erasing the mbox files and indexes in the account folder before clicking Ok. The msf file are immediately recreated.

In the screenshot, the folders marked with an arrow cannot be unsubscribed, no matter what I tried.

After deleting a large number of historical emails, including emptying the Deleted items folder, and emptying the Archive folder, Thunderbird restores a large number - but not all - previously deleted emails. Oddly the emails that are restored to the inbox are only ones from 2022. I have gone through and deleted them multiple times but they keep coming back. Any suggestions? Thanks, Simon.

Hello, I have selcted the option "Expunge" under Settings -> Server-Settings -> Message-Storage. The intention was to delete messages from the server of ma Email-Provider (GMX). Unintentionally however, the result was, that instead, the Messages have been deleted from my local computer. Can I recover them? They do not appear in the Recycle Bin.

I am using Version 149.0.2 (64-Bit) on a Windows Computer.

So was having problems with my email server and stupidly decided that if I deleted the account and reset everything I could get it to work. Turns out provider had a problem that has now been resolved. Today I put in the info and setup the account again now works buts I have lost all my old emails and folders. is there anyway to restore the old account information?

What happened to all the emails I downloaded weeks ago?

I used to download my emails from my IP mailbox and read them later. I did this weeks ago but can't find them now. Is there a special way to access them or did I need to do something different to save them before closing TB? Several different files (directories) have not been disturbed but the main email in-box download does not have the previous download of a couple hundred emails.

When I delete a message TB automatically deletes 2 or 3 others at same time.

This happens erratically, not every time. Annoying when trying to select a message to delete and the one before or after or both also deletes at same time. Now I have to go and retrieve it back to inbox. Checked in settings and cant find a solution. Also looked in pad and mouse settings to no avail. Seems to have started in last 2 or 3 months, can't be specific of time line.

I've tried setting up Thunderbird archiving according to the documentation to save archived messages locally, and in the same hierarchy they had when I archived them. That is, if I have:

INBOX

   Box1
   Box2

... etc. then archiving would create a parallel structure in Local Folders

However, this isn't working.

I select "Keep message archives in Other (Archives on Local Folders).

For "Archive Options" I select "A single folder", "Keep existing folder structure of archived messages" and "Recreate inbox folder".

However, when I archive something, Thunderbird just creates a folder "2026" (this year) and puts the message in there.

Why are my settings NOT working?

Hi - I can't seem to delete from my Yahoo Mail via Thunderbird.

With Yahoo's new mailbox limits I wanted to clean up my Yahoo mail box and Yahoo obviously does not provide any decent tools to support search and delete.

I downloaded Thunderbird and despite several deletion attempts my Yahoo mailbox still shows 160,000 emails whilst my Thunderbird client only 9,000 - so when I delete it is not syncing.

Most emails are deleted from Thunderbird however some are now reappearing (in Thunderbird). No deletions from Thunderbird are reachign my Yahoo mail inbox, however I can send emails from Thunderbird and see the sent and received email in Yahoo and I can add folders in Thunderbird and see those folders in Yahoo.

I tried several things

- immeadiate delete in Thunderbird - moving the emails to a folder in Thunderbird and then deleting from that and then deleting the the folder - I check this article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-yahoo and everything appears correct

I've had to pay for extra storage to get the code to make this post.

I like very much Thunderbird very much, but I had to move recently to use an Android device, that is my main computer now. I normally work with four email accounts, and I sometimes need to move emails across different accounts. I found out that it is not working on the mobile app. Are there any plans to include this functionality in Thunderbird? Thank you very much.
