I Am on desktop:

i5 9600KF (high performance mode) 16GB 3200mhz ram NVME... Windows 10 Pro x64 Firefox last stable

When I open Firefox tabs aren't loaded all at the same time, but they are suspended. So after that: when I switch between 6 tabs quickly - they start to open at the same time. And CPU usage skyrockets to 100% LOL! Given I Am on high end PC - this is joke! I was using chrome and had hundreds of tabs and Chrome doesn't even suspend them by default. They open all at the same time I think!

So there is something wrong! I tried troubleshooting mode and it was the same problem!

I have three emails accounts. Three work and one doesn't. I click on the inbox in the account that does not work and Thunderbird goes into endless loop. No error messages. No received messages. I use another computer and I get messages. I looked at the saved password file and the working emails accounts have a imap entry and a matching SMTP entry. The non working account does mot have a imap entry. There seems to be no way to enter the imap entry. I have removed the password for the bad account, but the program never get far enough to ask for a password. The program worked for years now it doesn't.

The new release of Thunderbird strains and strains and strains when an email is selected which has large attached files. I cannot scroll the email, I cannot switch away from the email, until Thunderbird completes its processing, whatever it is doing. These emails were not a problem until I updated to version 91.

Installed 91.2.0 last night. I use Tbird for email (works perfectly) and for three newsgroups via news.individual.net

Since the update, Tbird is still collecting messages from these groups, but clicking on the group to read messages causes Tbird to crash.

Not sure what to do next?

Changed settings: Sort by --> threaded Layout --> messenger pane off Start at --> Inbox (which is gmail)

Actual results:

Next restart of TB returns those settings to their default. Changes retained only until restart, then back to defaults. TB 91.2.0 Windows 10 Pro on HP laptop Have used TB for many years. Did not realize auto-update was on (didn't used to be on). Have now turned it off again. This change to updates was retained.

Expected results:

Should have retained those changes on restart.

Thunderbird address book list. For only one name I have, the sent message it is returned as not vaild. Thunderbird then adds a modified name to to the list with strange quotes in it. As a result the sent message is returned. The correct name is: Mike XXXXX <XX517@outlook.com> The name Thunderbird sends & adds to address book is: "Mike XXXXX <XX517"@outlook.com Notice the " " addition and deleted > mark at the end. No idea where it came from. If I delete the "Mike XXXXX <XX517"@outlook.com name entry in the address book, it is sent as the quoted name and added to the address book again. I cannot find any other place where this modified name shows up in my address book. How can I fix this? </p>

Using the last release of Thunderbird (version 91.2.0) for a Mac running Big Sur (OS version 11.6) when applying the "Format> Page colors and background", the Thunderbird app will always crash, Then you have to force quit the app to close it and all entries are lost for that email. This occurs every time this feature is applied. The latest release appears to be very unstable.

I saw people defending this saying that "uuuh, mozilla takes advantage of-" BS! It doesn't take advantage of nothing, it only wastes your ram and your time.

HOW DO I LIMIT THE RAM USAGE? I DON'T WANT FANCY PERFORMANCE TABS I WANT A DIRECT ANSWER ON HOW TO STOP FIREFOX WASTING MY RAM

TB v91.2.0 hangs or crashes when sending email.

This has occurred only since the recent update. When I send a message, TB will pop up a window show Status: Sending message... and the Progress bar goes to 100%. But it never completes. If I cancel the message, generally it was not sent as there is nothing in the sent folder, although once or twice it did send even though I cancelled, but that may have been after letting it sit for an hour before cancelling. I found if I cancel right away and then resend, it sometimes it goes thru, and then it works for a while. But I've also had it grey out the main screen and the message composition window when sending a signed email with an attachment, and I eventually terminated and restarted TB after waiting an hour. Afraid I haven't done a scientific assessment of cause and effect when using signed vs. unsigned, with and w/out attachments, TB restart vs. continuous use, or laptop running vs. relogging in after auto-lock timeout. But it does seem to act normally once I get it to successfully send a message and I haven't let the computer lock.

For some unknown reason, I can no longer send emails via Thunderbird. I can receive them just fine.

I am attaching a screen image of the two messages that pops up. The shorter one is first.

The larger message says "certificate belongs to a different site"

I am not a technical person. I did a chat with my email provider (Register.com). They said it was not their problem.

Any help appreciated.

I know several questions have been asked previously on this topic, but none of the answers seems to help me resolve the situation.

I use Thunderbird on my desktop and the email application on my iPhone.

I keep getting the error message 'unable to connect...may have exceeded number of connections...reduce cached connections'

I have done the following:

1. Reduced the number of cached connections to 1 on all my email addresses. 2. Increased the time between 'check for new emails' to various amounts, 10min, 60min, 120min 3. I had my iPhone turned off for 24 hours (you have no idea how hard that was!!!) to help the server reset 4. I have spoken to my email provider (Heart Internet) and they have assured me there are no issues at the server end.

Any suggestions, really would be appreciated.

Then it did load, but very slowly and switching folders would take so long that not responding would pop up several times. after a while, things begin to work fine. But the next day I had to go through the same thing.

Whilst the French dictionary has been in my Thunderbird for some time, my message writer now comes up with tool bars in French and auto spell check set to French. (It may have been sending spurious 'in the spam box' messages after emails are sent to me too but I'm not sure about that) Spell check change back to English is easy but when I go to Preferences to sort out the issue I get 'Not Responding' and then a crash. New drafts show as bold in the drafts folder and counted in the Drafts folder (see image). These do send at the correct time as drafts, but the actions are different than pre v91. I did quit and restart and it's the same. Previously, the Drafts would show a number for a few seconds and then Drafts would not be bold in folder view.

Additionally, draft messages can't be sorted by Send Later date/time, all other columns are sortable as expected.

So while new drafts send, the operation within TB is not as expected.

Hi, One of our clients upgraded from v48 - v92 in Thunderbird due to certificate issues. One of the users is getting the attached image when trying to forward emails. It doesn't happen every time but is happening frequently, every 3-5 sends. When it fails it usually sends the second try. While it does send eventually it is a nuisance. During my testing we sent 3 with no issues then had 3 failures in a row.

Is this a bug and how do we fix?

I am trying to set up a new email account on an existing Thunderbird install. Thunderbird is at the latest version having just updated it to see if that fixed the problem. Ver 91.1.2. It hadn't previously been updated for a while.

I set up the account with exactly the same details as the other account, except for the mailbox. The existing account is purak02, the new one purak03 and yes, I can sign into the new account via webmail.

I'm trying to set it up as IMAP but have tried POP3, I've tried different ports etc but still get the same error.

I have allowed Thunderbird through the firewall, but as I say, one account on the same server works, the other doesn't. Even the addresses are similar, with just the alias being different. eg office@ and sarah@

Suggestions please.

After upgrading to version 91.2.0 Thunderbird no longer shows message content in Message pane. First time after starting Thunderbird I can see that a blue bar is shown (in just a blink) in the Message pane, but no more after that. If a double-click on a message in the list it opens i a new windows but with no content (blank). If I right-click on the message and selects "Open Message in New Windows", it opens in a new window and shows the content. Strange.

I've done all the recommendations to disable all add-ons and clearing the startup cache. However, if I turn Troubleshoot Mode On everything starts to work. The interface even starts to respond much quicker when I click on a message.

I use Gmail (IMAP) and Thunderbird local directory is set to a folder on a network storage (Synology NAS).
