I have a desktop and two laptops running Thunderbird ver 140.6. As of today, it was working yesterday, I have lost the message preview feature on the desktop. Everything is working fine on the laptops.

My friend recommended this browser to me. When I tried to customize it, I couldn't find an option to change the hotkeys to my preference. I consider this feature important since I use it for work. Can I do this somehow, and is there any plan to add such a feature to the settings?

I am new to Thunderbird and apologize for my question! After restarting my MacBook, it works as it should.

In the signature in HTML format, a space is automatically inserted after a hyphen. How can I prevent this?

Example: Correct: domain-xxxxx.com This is how it is saved as an HTML file.

However, this is how it actually looks after restarting: Incorrect: domain- xxxxx.com

Want to clear the 'RIGHT CLICK MOVE EMAIL TO FOLDER LIST ' THAT ACCUMULATES OVER TIME . lIST GETS TOO LONG. Searched thoroughly for an answer but found none.

 Please respond if you know how to clear this list.

Something called "safe space" just showed up in my firefox browser... I didn't want it, didn't ask for it!! PLEASE tell me HOW to get rid of it.... PLEASE!!!

How can I fix Thunderbird's sudden problem with alphabetizing in the list of folders/subfolders? E.g. "To read tablet" is sorted after "To read WebMd" and "Karin" comes after "ZZ-Friends Common" and "Susie" comes after "Zhahai"

This started happening relatively recently - a few months ago, I think. Suddenly folders that used to be in the correct alphabetic order were suddenly misplaced.

Is there a button I push or a feature I enable to make sure that I'm opted-out of any future updates that include AI 'features'? Or should I switch to Vivaldi now and save time?

When I select emails to delete (move to Trash) Thunderbird deletes them BUT THEN automatically selects the next email in the list. If I don't notice that, and deselect it, that email gets deleted with the next batch. I've lost several emails this way. So, how do I get Thunderbird to stop selecting the next email after it deletes the ones that I selected. Nothing should be selected after an email is deleted. I don't see anything in the settings menu to do this. If this is a default feature, it's pretty dangerous and should be changed.

I'm trying to get my email address book listed on the side bar when I reply/forward/write emails. Also need the send icon to show when I'm in the out going email program. Dennis

Amazon just sent me an email an animated GIF at the top of it. As a result, whenever it's in the preview pane, it's constantly swapping colors and making a visual nuisance of itself. All morning, it's been blinking at me. Is there any way to shut off animations in the preview pane? I almost never want to see an animated gif in an email, but I definitely never want it dancing around in the preview pane.

I was confused that apparently "All mail" is now forced to be "Archives", this has happened to both of my email accounts that I use with Thunderbird. Renaming also seems to be blocked. Is there a good reason for this? I find it confusing.

After latest update two of my folders no longer have their right names. They where called "DJ LEO" and "Søndre Hamre" as their data files. No they are both callen "Sendt" (norwegian for "Send") and can't be renamed. Content and data files are still right. Why is this hapening. What do I do?

New messages received by an email account are scattered at random in the inbox instead of being at the top of the list. How can I ensure that the inbox has new messages at the top?

your layout is fine when I first open the program but when an email is selected to be read, the left email folder list disappears and is very difficult to get back up. there must be an easy setup fix to this or else I am about to uninstall Thunderbird! And your service stinks like all the rest of BIG tech these days. Truth is you have now Customer Service.

I believe that version 145.0, newly installed on the 9th December, 2025 was showing server folders correctly; the server folder name matched the client folder name.

After upgrading to 146.0 on the 10th December, the server folder names for some folders are displaying with different client folder names.

The IMAP account has both "spam" and "junk" folders, Thunderbird is now displaying both as "Spam", you can only determine which folder is which by showing folder properties. It appears to users that there are two "Spam" folders now and not the two distinct folders with their own names.

Similar behaviour is happening for "Sent" and "Sent Messages" folders, both now display as "Sent".

These changes are confusing, the client sees two "Spam" folders and two "Sent" folders instead of the original proper server folder names.

Why has the display name for these folders changed?

How can I get TB to display the real underlying folder names?

I operate with several to many windows open (and many tabs). Firefox (Mac) used to list the open Windows in the Window menu in the order I originally created/opened each window. A while back, FF started sorting – and re-sorting! – the list of open windows alphabetically according to the Tab that is currently active in each Window. This means that the window appears in different places in the Window menu list according to the name of the Tab. I DO NOT LIKE THAT because the it makes the Window hard to find.

Is there any way to set this to operate the way it used to - keeping the Window list in the order first opened, regardless of which Tab is open?
