On my laptop, I was easily able to add a second email account, same domain. When I now try on my new desktop, I click add account, it goes to the accounbt hub with the details, and sit spinning a wheel forever.
The second account is known to Thunderbirt/Mozilla, and has been used for a few years.
The domain is with IONOs, same as the first account.
What process should I be using and why is this not working?

I want to remove one of my old email accounts. I need to use the Account Actions button, but it isn't showing. I've read everything about how to get the button to appear, but nothing works. I'm using the latest update to Thunderbird. My menu bar is showing. All the setting for each email account are showing. One suggestion was to click on the small button in the lower left corner, but the small button I have just opens the account settings, no Account Actions.
Is anyone familiar with this issue and how to get that Account Actions button to show?
Thanks for the help.

Hello,
I tried to change the position of my signature, but I can't find the setting to this. I read this article for help. However, I can't find "Account Settings" in "Tools" menu(see attachments).
Is there any way to change the position of the signature?
I keep getting an error 400 - it tells me the account is fractured and should not be used. Is there a solution?

I tried Mozilla Monitor, logging in using my Mozilla account, but it wouldn't accept my UK address. It would only accept USA addresses. So I was not able to run the scan and reach the stage where you can delete the Monitor Account
Using the same personal data, but selecting a USA location, I ran the scan and then dieted the account successfully.
As I used the same email address for each attempt does the successful deletion on the second attempt mean all my Monitor accounts have been deleted?
ChatGPT indicates that this is the case but I would welcome further advice.

All the information that normally appears when one clicks on the name of an account in account settings (account name, your name, e-mail address, outgoing server to use, signature, et cet.) has disappeared on all three of my accounts. When I re-enter the information, Thunderbird does not save it.
It happens in troubleshooting mode too.
Thunderbird does still know the account names, my name, my e-mail addresses, and my signatures even though that information does not appear on the page.
How can I make Thunderbird show this information again and make sure that it's using the right outgoing servers?

I have two separate accounts; a hotmail account and an outlook account. It added the hotmail, but won't add the outlook account.

For reasons I can't fathom, Thunderbird and Google aren't speaking to each other at the moment. :)
have nuisance screens from Google that I cannot provide information in to resolve the problem. I believe that somehow Google is no longer recognizing passwords sent from Thunderbird and vice versa. I'm not receiving email in my Thunderbird inboxes.
My solution is to delete the affected accounts from Thunderbird and add them back. I have passwords.
Before I do this, I thought it prudent to ask the experts if this sounds like a good plan.
What say ye?

I have Thunderbird 142.0. I need to remove an email account. I followed the instruction: Right click on your account name. (I did) Please click on Settings. (I did) See attached image of the Settings panel Click on account actions. (Account actions does not appear) Make sure the account you want to delete is selected, then click remove account. Click on OK to delete.
The option Account Actions does not appear
If I remember correctly, the last time I had to remove an account, the option was located at the bottom of the left panel. I scroll down to the bottom of the left panel to Thunderbird Settings and there is no option listed to remove/delete an account.
Someone please help! Thanks, William

Hello,
I’m encountering an issue after migrating my domain and professional email service.
My address was originally hosted by Cabanova and configured in Thunderbird. I recently transferred the domain and email hosting to OVH, which caused the old mail server configuration to stop working.
Here’s the current situation:
The account in Thunderbird is still using a POP server (ssl0.ovh.net – port 995), while OVH uses IMAP (port 993).
I cannot change the server type from POP to IMAP within the existing account settings.
When I try to add a new account, Thunderbird completely freezes after I click “Continue” and never gives me access to “Manual Configuration.”
I also cannot delete the existing account because it contains all my previous local emails that I need to keep.
At the moment, I’m able to send emails from this account via OVH, but I don’t receive any incoming messages.
What I’d like to do is simply update the server configuration to OVH’s IMAP settings, without losing my existing local messages or recreating the entire profile.
Could you please let me know if there’s a way to:
Force an existing POP account to switch to IMAP,
Or safely recreate the account as IMAP without losing local data and without Thunderbird freezing during setup?
Thank you in advance for your assistance,

I am using Thunderbird 140.0.1 (64-bit) for Windows and with this update there is a new account windows sety up. When adding a new account it only asks me for the email address and when I press continue it I get a blue circle going round and round and no progress. In previous versions I would input the email and password and this would work.

Hi I have several mails with in my Thunderbird. For one of them I have unchecked all the server settings: "Check for new messages at startup" "Check for new messages every ..." "Allow immediate notifications..."
Thunderbird still keeps asking me for a pw at start and now and then. If possible I would prefer not to delete the account, but just have it as passive, so I can still find old mails there.
New mails from this old account, if any, are forwarded to another of my mails (another domain name), and then I move them manually down there, so it is easier to find. This was something my mail-provider arranged, so I should not pay 2x hosting for both domains. Alternative I can transfer the mails from the old account to a sub-folder with my active mail, but for organizational ease, is there a way I can keep a mail account as "passive" in Thunderbird, that is no check for new emails on this account and no ask for pw, since it is not really active anymore.
