This is taking place on my desk top. My phone still has all my email accounts. Not sure if all my contacts are in my phone but way more than my desk top. Should mention new computer in Oct.24 with change from windows 10 to windows 11. Two thing, one, my other email accounts are no longer listed in thunderbird. Still have my main email with it's folders. I did the sinking thing with the phone still missing. Two, My contacts are mostly missing. Had Friends list, Business list, Family list and so on, all gone.

After many years of using Thunderbird with an AOL account I changed my password in AOL to increase the security. So I had to install the AOL account again in Thunderbird. I created an app password in AOL and put it in Thunderbird. Everythin fine so far. AOL login window opens automatically. But after login to AOL the message "somthing went wrong" and "try on anther device" pops up. I tried it on several PC's - no way. Other mail clients like Mailspring oder Mailbird did work with the AOL account. What is the problem?

Attempting to add a gmail oauth account in TB fails authentication using verified account password. (The account requires two-factor authentication using an authenticator app, but haven't tried that as a password) I have removed the account from TB, and the saved passwords for the account. I then added the account back to TB but get the same "Failed authentication" notification without any opportunity to register a new password. I can not find a cookie to remove and retry the process.

Hello everybody, I have 5 accounts managed with Thunderbird. They are named provider, provider-1 up to provider-4. I don't know, which Thunderbird-Account belongs to which Provider-Account. Is there any possibility to find out, which Thunderbird-Account belongs to which Provider-Account and to save one of these 5 Thunderbird-Accounts on disk?

I would like to change the authentication method to OAuth2, but it doesn't appear in the drop-down menu.

My Thunderbird version is 140.4.0esr (64-bit). I have all cookies set to allow.

How do I change it to OAuth2?

I have a working Thunderbird email account on a windows 10 computer. I recently bought a new windows 11 computer and downloaded Thunderbird from the Thunderbird site. I installed it on the new computer and tried setting up my email. It fails in auto and manual setup. Since I have a working account on the windows 10 computer, I should be able to look at the settings and transfer them to the new computer. I am 76 years old and have a difficult time with today's technology. If someone can assist me, I would be grateful and co-operate fully. Thank you.

I've uninstalled and loaded thunderbird 115.18.0 twice and both times missing some of the settings in the server. Incoming server & copies and folders most notably....do I need an older version for windows 7 64 bit?

I had set it up for imap but your installer said it found the correct configuration. I'm on ATT server. I don't think so or the server settings wouldn't be missing. The outgoing was there but not the rest. HELP my email is [edited from public forum] @att.net

It says my sbcglobal.net settings are out of date. Pops up once a day. HOw do I update my settings for [edited from public] @sbcglobal.net?

with some changes with a default search for passkeys, I am no longer able to use thunderbird mail as is, as after spending three hours today, I was unable to add a 2nd account that has been accessed via gmail for a long time. I am wondering what other email problems other than thunderbird might have similar features,. as thunderbird has been rendered unusable by new code/passord, passkey requirements. I was looking at spark, but their interface is not as helpful. Thoughts! RIP Thunderbird mail, a long time friends, but time to move on, alas

When I click on a mailto: link on websites, it defaults to an old email address that I am phasing out. So every time I click on a mailto: link, TB opens a new email using the old email address, and I need to remember to click on the list of my email accounts and select a different one.

How can I change the email address that is the default?

My Mozilla has 5 accounts, apparently the Firefox Forum account email matches the browser account password. It would be good to know which Mozilla account is linked to which, as new users confuse multiple account username and passwords with numerous Mozilla products affiliated or non-officially affiliated.

This is a massive barrier to entry for normies.

I have an unfamiliar name on my Thunderbird account of g*******k@hughes.net (I do not know this account) and I am able to see the inbox of this email on my computer in Thunderbird. I have been working with Hughesnet as I was without email service since 11/17/25 and have just been able to now Receive emails since 11/25/25, but am unable to SEND outgoing emails. Hughesnet requested that I contact Mozilla support as to the outgoing email issue - and the unfamiliar name on my Thunderbird account. Please help with this situation. My email account with Thunderbird is t****k@hughes.net

Hi, I've got a "confirm your account" email, which I click through to get to my account but from there I don't know what to do to verify it. Is there a "verify" button that I'm missing, or an action I need to do on my account in order to finalise it? Thanks
