Moving from Windows to Linux and in the process moving from Chrome to Firefox. In Linux, there seems to be an issue where Firefox isn't recognizing that I have installed Chrome. No problem, I went into Windows to do the move instead. But since the data isn't saved and you have to have an instance of Firefox running (?) to actually sync, I decided to download Firefox on my iPhone, get my passwords from Chrome, then sync to my iPhone, boot back to Linux, then sync on Linux with the data on my iPhone, and somehow in the process locked myself out of logging into Firefox on my iPhone due to how many times I've had to log in to Firefox to figure out this convoluted and broken process. People are wanting to switch to Firefox due to ad blocking support, and this is a massive barrier to entry. Can we just fix importing from a csv file?

Previously with chrome I had 5 links pinned to the homepage, and that was all that was there. With Firefox, I can't figure out how to disable the history mixed in with the pinned links, or change the number of links displayed. All I can find is changing the number of rows, not columns per row which would at least be good, because I could just set the grid to fill to 1x5, instead of having the current minimum count of 1x8 links.

I recently switched to linux and I cannot find a way to link profiles from my windows install. In an older version I could make a symbolic link in ~/.mozilla/firefox/Profiles to the profiles in /run/media but now profiles are stored in ~/.mozilla/firefox and it doesn't understand my symbolic links, how can I do this?

When I open Reddit in regular browsing mode the page loads but I cannot interact with anything at all. I cannot scroll, click buttons, or even go to other tabs or close the tab. Firefox (from what I can tell) freezes completely, the buttons to close the window and minimize it do not work either and I can only close it with task manager. I went into troubleshooting mode to try and fix it myself and it works perfectly there. I went back into regular browsing mode and disabled all my addons, but the problem happened again. After this I tried clearing my startup cache and the browser still froze. Other websites like Youtube and Twitter function normally.

Hi, trying to setup local update server for Firefox, and I hit on a problem:

Was testing on my PC which has for multiple reasons "normal" Firefox and get to the point where updates from local server are working, but then tried to test the PC where the ESR version is installed - was expecting the update will not be found, and I would download the MAR files for ESR, edit the update.xml.... but the ESR Firefox found and downloaded the "normal" update, but of course could not install it.

Is there a way to set in XML file that one update is only for ESR and another for Rapid release version of Firefox? How to setup local update server for both channels simultaneously?

Another minor question - is there a simple way how to get buildID for/from downloaded prebuild MAR file? Without it the in the XML file update process don't work correctly and only place I found it so far is in source code for that build.

I am in Amsterdam NL and my Mozilla Browser is recognized in Czech Republic, but I can´t connect to browse like beeing there. Two days ago there was a country list on my pc, now not to find anymore. Where is it now? please help

I attempted to log in to these forums today only to be told I used an incorrect password. Twice this has happened now since I first created an account. I've had to reset it again. Why does this happen?

I installed the new Windows 11 update now when I exit out of firefox "X" the next time I go to open and error tells me that firefox is running (it's not showing open and running) and I have to close.

I recently updated to windows 11 and now when I open firefox my tabs are no longer there. I have repeatedly gone into settings and checked "open previous windows and tabs". Dosnt work. Still opens to a blank browser with only one 'new tab' present. Most troublesome since having my tabs for my email addresses, calender and google keep come up each time is a big time saver for me. Ive been doing this for years and thanked mozilla silently many times for this. But now Whats Up???

Hello, I use Firefox 105 on my PC. I have embedded various YouTube videos on my website. I've had the following problem for a few days: I can see my videos on both my smartphone and tablet without going to YouTube. On my PC (Win 10 Pro Vers. 21H2) the display wheel "rolls" without opening the video (... "an error has occurred, try again later"). But if I click on: "Watch on YouTube" plays the video via YouTube correctly. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? Is there a wrong setting in the Firefox browser? For years, never a problem. Suddenly, the Roboform lower toolbox, while being checked in the latest Firefox options, will not actually show up. The Roboform help suggestions are numerous but haven't helped at all. Something somewhere has been changed and it's most unfortunate but I cannot continue with Firefox. Chrome does load the lower toolbar with no problems ever. I dislike switching but unless help comes soon, I will be forced to. I am on Firefox all day every day and am slowly moving up through coding systems.

I just made the switch from Chrome to Firefox, and I'm still trying to understand the small differences that exist between the 2 browsers.

While on Twitter, what I usually do is middle-click with my mouse on a Tweet to a new tab that I want to look into later, then continue scrolling down my timeline, then check out the Tweets I opened in the new tab(s). However, when I try to do the same thing on Firefox, it automatically opens the new tab. Because of how Twitter works, this also reloads the Home page when I opened it up, so I just lose anything I was just looking at when I opened the Tweet in a new tab.

What can I do differently here?

Auto-updated to v105 today (105.0.2 64-bit Windows 10) and all bookmarks were gone. Not just gone but the bookmark manager seems not to be rendering properly (see attached image where there should be at least some elements drawn). Additionally, neither the bookmarks nor history left pane show anything (second attachment).

The 105 update was applied this morning when first opening the browser. Profile folder -> bookmarkbackups shows a backup from just before the update. Bookmark library -> Restore gives that backup as an option, but restoring that backup has no effect (does nothing).

Exiting Firefox and manually moving places.sqlite to a backup location and then restarting also has no effect. places.sqlite is rebuilt but library -> restore still has no effect.

As the title says, accidentally updated this morning. Was running version 85 pretty handily. I just want to know how to go back.

I don't care about security issues. I actually tried to revert back myself using my current profile, but it broke all of my addons. Actually, it broke my ability to reinstall them too so even if I wanted them again, I couldn't download them.

Any help is appreciated. Personally, I would prefer to have a "disable until I care about it" button.
