Why in Thunderbird or in any other known email client software, do I have to create a new email using "forward" or copy-paste, in order to resend an email that for some reason, like the destination server mail was down, did not reach the destination and has to be resend again? Why not create an option or a button for "resend", that just repeats the email and sends it again to the destination email addresses? It seems a basic option that should exist in every email client software, but unfortunately it does not exist.

Using latest version of Thunderbird (52.01) on Windows 10. Tried to download the Lightening Add On via Thunderbird and directly from Mozilla, but this was flagged as not compatible with this version of Thunderbird and the Add On could not be downloaded.

How can I get the Lightning functionality and features into this version of Thunderbird?

my Thunderbird has got the Windows' Title Bar in it and I'd like to remove it. Firefox has an option to enable/disable that Title Bar but I cannot find how to do it in Thunderbird.

Everything I tried so far didn't work; that includes: disabling add-ons, setting "mail.tabs.drawInTitlebar" to false and deleting xulstore.json.

I'm running Windows 10 Home x64 CU and Thunderbird 52.1.0 This is happening only to my user profile but I'd like not to start over with a new one. Any advice?

I need to re order the email accounts, not the individual folders. I can't seem to find any way to do this, although I know others must have this problem and there should be a solution. Any help gratefully appreciated.

I'm new to Thunderbird so this is pretty basic I know, but? I want to set the font style, size, and (color although that doesn't seem to be an available option) and make them my default for all newly composed emails. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I used MS Access VBA command docmd.sendobject to send SMS type to SMS gateway. If I use the option "view mail", so that the mail window opens, the mail is sent as "plain text" as needed. However if I set to "view mail" disabled, basically the mail is passed through, and is sent as HTML and therefore rejected. In Thunderbird I have both types of mail in my email sent box. I have set in the Thunderbird general Options already everything to plein text and even indicated the "sms.at" as domain for plein text. Question is: As it does not work, what do I have to set, that all mails (also mails generated with a command from external source) and not opened with "View Window" are sent as PLAIN TEXT? I just installed Thunderbird and only my name comes up in the "From" option when I write a message. I wish to add my wife's name so that she can send her own messages with her name. (The email address will be the same but the name in front of the email address will be hers.)

How do I set T-bird to use the Canadian English dictionary by *default*? Currently, it's defaulting to US-English, and it's tedious to have to set each individual email language to Canadian.

I'm running T-Bird on Windows 10 (laptop) and Enterprise 7 (work/desktop). Both of those systems have Canadian English as the default. My area settings are for Canada.

FYI: Thunderbird does not have an official downloadable version of Canadian English language version here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/all/ BUT there is a Canadian English add-on here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/language-tools/ I have the latter installed, and it works when I reset the email to Canadian English (see screenshot for the process).

When trying to add items to Toolbar via 'Customise' i.e. add print symbol to header- just shows no entry sign wherever I try to drag it to - I also can't reorder the items by 'click and drag'. These problems occurred recently, presumably an update was added automatically and reset my settings.

I am using FiltaQuilla (add-on) in Thunderbird to save the attachments of received e-mails (filtered on domain, e.g. "@example.com") to a specific folder for each sender. But for some reason, all saved files are empty. The file name is correct, so all attachments seem to saved, but without their content. I checked the attachments in the mails: they are not empty files.

I've added a screenshot of one of the filters (my apologies, but it's in Dutch). A little translation: Filter: - From, contains, @example.be Actions: - Move message to, VERWERKT (other folder in mailbox) - Save attachments to, C:\FTP\...\...\MAIL_IN - Mark as read

This is a very weird problem, and I cannot figure out the cause. All help is very much appreciated, every hint might get me on the trail to the cause and solution!

Some received emails need to be answered inline. They could be HTML or text. The received email is almost always black text, so I want my reply to be in red, blue, maybe green, while the received text is in its original color. I've tried various setting changes in Tools/Options/Composition & Display. I also have my View/Text Encoding set to Unicode. thanks, Ron

we are different users on the same computer at home so we've different accounts on the same thunderbird. Generally every thing is going well but also sometimes the dialog box to choose the account doesn't appear...
