Hi, I updated Betterbird 153.2. Now when I open Betterbird I get a box asking me to use betterbird for default actions for Custom Thunderbird Links. Should I accept??

Could this be why I can no longer get yahoo.com mail?

Hello all,

During clean-up of my laptop I noticed 31 language package files in C:\ProgramData\O949. File names look like: langpack-en-US@firefox.mozilla.org, and they all originate from 23-Jan-2017 so I guess they're very old files which might be relevant anymore. As these 10,058 files occupy 56 MB I'd like to remove them from my laptop.

Does anybody know if such task is wise, not harming current running FF v131.0.3?

Thunderbird just auto updated and will not open. Crash report opens as the program crashes. I didnt realize it had updated until checking files. Do I need to reinstall revert back to the old ver. Please advise. Thanks

Hi James Your reply does not answer my question - "Could you please advise a work-around to allow me to continue to use Firefox V 94.0.1 reliably after 25 March 2025". Thank you. Also FYI, I indicated that I was continuing to use Firefox V 94.0.1 (64-bit) on Windows 7 Professional. This is because all versions later than 94.0.1 modified settings which had to be reset after an update. This was not necessary up to and including V 94.0.1 Cheers Graham Garden

After a windows update I get the following message when I try to open Firefox: The procedure entry point ?ToLogLevel@mozilla@@VA?AW4LogLevel@1@H@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library C:ProgramFiles\Mozilla Firefox\xul.dll Then I get Couldn't load XPCOM

I tried uninstalling firefox but it just hung. I restored it to before the windows update but still got the same message

When I started up Windows 11 on my new laptop, I had to connect to the web via Edge to be able to install Firefox. I foolishly went on to install Firefox via Microsoft Store. I have now installed Firefox from the Mozilla website via the Microsoft Store version, but I cannot uninstall the Microsoft Store version. I don't have access to the folder where it is installed even though I log on as an administrator.

After last update Firefox ESR 115.23.0 the menu on the website: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/homeis not displayed correctly. Could you fix this? Second question - can you disable reCAPTCHA when logging in to this site?

When I signed into my computer this morning, a pop-up asked me if I wanted Firefox to update. I let it do that, and then a pop-up came up letting choose among some photos and art for a desktop background. It even let me upload a photo of mine. I chose one of yours, now I can't change to any other photo I have on my computer. Please help.

Running Firefox on macOS Sequoia 15.0. Afternoon of Tuesday, 8 October, Firefox abruptly ceased loading any pages. I eventually learned of the malware incident and downloaded Firefox 131.0.2 last night and overwrote the existing file. It worked for a brief moment, then also ceased functioning. Have downloaded 131.0.2 several times now, with no further success. Currently dead in the water with Firefox, and stuck with Safari. :(

After an update of both macOS (to macOS Sequoia 15.0.1) and Firefox Developer Edition (to 132.0b3 (aarch64)), the Bookmarks Toolbar stopped working. The same issue appeared on my Windows PC.

Bookmarks toolbar is visible, I can show and hide it but it does not display any of my saved bookmarks. Luckily, they were not deleted and I still can access them via Bookmarks Menu, which is less than optimal.

The Drag&Drop functionality does not work either. When I grab the opened Tab, drag it on the Toolbar and release it, the Tab gets opened in the new browser window and it's not saved.

Up to now Thunderbird was installed on C:, while the profiles directory was on D: (including the local files). As C: was getting saturated, I installed the latest version of Thunderbird on D:, and used the Profile Manager to tell it to load the existing profile. Upon launching Thunderbird, it did find all the connected accounts and connect to them, yet didn't display any local files. However, when I look at the location of the local folders in the new installation, it points to the "old" local folders, D:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\Mail\Local Folders, and all the local files I used to see in the previous installation are there. Yet they don't display in the "new" Thunderbid. How come? What should I do? Thanks for any help.

I am not sure what to do first. I already paid for the VPN subscription. I reinstalled Mozzilla VPN but have not yet put the sudo lines in that are listed in the help on Firefox. Can you send me an email with instructions and any special sudo lines I need to intall so I do not get charged a second time. I heve the recovery code. I am new to Mint. Windows 11 started knocking out my hardware with power surges. Had to come from the operating system itself since the machine is hooked to a power backup that smoothes the current out. I'm trying to link a Gmail calendar. It started to work initially, then something went wrong and I had to start again. This time, in the Create New Calendar window, it says "The credentials you have entered were not accepted. Please check your settings."

I know the credentials are correct. I've tested them separately. The failed attempt may have left some junk behind. Is there some way to clear it? Thunderbird is up to date, version 1284.0esr (64 bit) on Win 10.

Hello there. I've followed the instructions in the appropriate support article and transferred our Thunderbird profile from a Widows 10 machine to a Windows 11. My profile as a .zip file is larger than the 2GB limit, so I used the Widows Explorer cut and paste. It's likely that I've done something slightly awry as one of my local sub folders hasn't transferred. Otherwise TB works fine. Is it possible to just restore the particular local folder, as I can find both the entries in my mail folder on windows explorer? However the view of the two entries looks rather different on the two computers when I compare a local folder that has transferred. Regards, Arthur

I used Refresh Firefox option and it created "Old Firefox Data" folder on my desktop.

Awesome stuff. Sadly I cant get rid of it, here is why:

1. At first it said that the folder is used by another program and I cant delete it because of that. Cool, I decided to uninstall Firefox and make a clean install, so I have space to delete the folder too.

2. Long story short, it didnt work. I removed Firefox and tried to delete that folder, but wait for it, yeah I cant because I need permission from MYSELF. Awesome stuff.

3. I decided to use safe mode, so I used run command to run msconfig and I changed it to boot in to safe mode. But wait for it! YES! Its bugged and I cant login in safe mode, because pin is useless and it doesnt give me option to use password, so after hour of various things I got back to my normal mode via CMD commands. THANK YOU MICROSOFT.

4. So now Im stuck with the lovely "Old Firefox Data" folder, which cant be removed normally, neither in safe mode and wait for it! NEITHER WITH ADMIN CMD, not even the takeown /f "Old Firefox Data" /r command. THANK YOU MOZILLA!

So is there someone knowledgeable enough to help me to get rid of that folder pretty please? Like really a lot please.

I started using Thunderbird quite recently. After an unsuccessful installation, Thunderbird deleted it, as well as deleted the profile folder. In order to perform a clean installation of the program.

But after installation, Thunderbird started, to my surprise, already with accounts, and even with add-ons installed. Firefox auto updated when I opened it today. I'm working on a Windows 10 laptop 64 bit. Please don't tell me to upgrade the Windows 11, the laptop won't take Windows 11. I get the same window whether I open the regular fire fox or the private browsing Firefox.
