I just upgraded to Mac's latest OS 14.0 (Sonoma.) Thunderbird will not load. When I run the application I get a beachball and an "application) is not responding" message. I have tried rebooting and all the "typical fixes.)

Is there an update coming? Something that I can delete to make Thunderbird work?

I recently noticed an issue after waking my MAC Book M1 (2020) from several days of sleep. Upon opening the lid, I was met with a system warning about low memory. Further investigation revealed that ThunderBird was using over 100G of memory.

Just a few days ago, I had updated my MAC to Sonoma 14.0, and last week ThunderBird was updated to version 115.3.0. Both were significant version upgrades, and I'm unsure where the problem lies.

I haven't installed any additional extensions or plugins, as shown in the attached screenshot. However, I did notice some components listed in the debug information, and I'm not sure why there's an inconsistency.

I will continue to monitor this issue to see if it reoccurs. For now, I'm just reporting this as a single instance along with my system information, hoping it's an isolated case.

Using the new Thunderbird on Mac 10/3/2023. Command functions do not work. For example, the essential "Command 1" while Tbird is open only results in a beep, not an open window. The only way to open a window is to click on the icon in the Dock, or to quit and reopen the app. When open, none of the command functions are black in the drop-down menus - all gray.

When I upgraded from MacOS Ventura to MacOS Sonoma, Thunderbird stopped working. Getting it to work the first time required me to use Apple's 2 Step Verification process to create an app-specific password. After the MacOS upgrade, that process was no longer available. Apple switched to 2 Factor Authentication, which is apparently different and incompatible with 2sv. The other websites and applications on my iMac have already switched to 2fa, and I'm not sure I can have both methods active on the same computer (but I've asked, Apple, anyway).

Is there a recent change in Thunderbird that would allow me to use 2fa instead of 2sv to access Thunderbird?

I have many years worth of emails in Thunderbird that I can no longer access. I can see the directory structure, and some of the email lists, but not the content.

I upgraded my Mac to the Sonoma operating system. Since doing so, Thunderbird won't open. Or actually, it pretends to open (the icon bounces up and down for a bit, then stops), but nothing works. The icon indicates it's open, but I can't access anything. If I right-click on it, and select "force quit" it looks like it's closed, but nothing else changes. I deleted my app, downloaded the latest version of Thunderbird, and it does the same thing. I read some things about the app storing documents separate from the app itself, but I couldn't find them on my computer. I have a lot of old emails that I need, as well as all my email addresses. So I have a few questions; does Thunderbird run on Sonoma (I saw a discussion board say something about Mac not supporting "legacy mail apps")? If so, how do I get it to work? If not, is there a way to retrieve my old emails or email addresses? Is running Thunderbird through a browser possible, and would that allow me to access my old documents?
