I've been using Firefox since forever but over the last couple of months, the auto translate subtitles (to English) hasn't been working when watching Youtube videos. There's a thread on the Youtube support site with nearly 40,000 posts of people with the same issue and tonight I was trying to watch a video where the hosts talk in Italian, so I use auto translate to English subtitles but no subtitles appear. It will show Italian language subtitles.

I've gone back through this Youtube channel's history trying videos I've previously watched from months/years ago when auto translate used to work but even they're not working now.

I decided to try the video in Edge browser and to my surprise the auto translate to English worked there. They also work in Chrome.

So what could be causing this issue on Firefox, which started about August time?

This is quite bizarre as I assumed all the processing/translation was done by Google/Youtube so in what way can Firefox be part of this issue?

To be clear, subtitles in the (foreign) language the people are speaking, works. Subtitles translated from that language to English (or other languages) has stopped working. Subtitles translated from that language to English IS working on Edge and Chrome browser.

I switched to Firefox as my primary browser from Chrome due to Chrome's instance on forcing unnecessary and intrusive AI features onto the platform, and their revoking support for ad blockers.

Anthony Enzor-DeMeo's quote from his recent blog post announcing that Firefox "will evolve into a modern AI browser" is a huge red flag for me. I do not care how much he may promise the features will be "something people can easily turn off", I do not trust it will remain that way. Mozilla will have a bad quarter and suddenly those won't be optional features anymore. I have seen it happen with other tech companies and it's infuriating that Mozilla seems to be merrily skipping down the same path.

In addition to the AI bloat Mozilla seems to insisting they need, Enzor-DeMeo recently said that "He could begin to block ad blockers in Firefox and estimates that'd bring in another $150 million, but he doesn't want to do that." To even joke about that is an astounding misstep. I specifically joined Firefox to be able to use an ad blockers.

I've enjoyed my time with Firefox and have recommended it to friends in the past, but I have changed browsers before. If Firefox continues to forge ahead with these frankly absurd changes, I will have to do so again.

Hello I got a pop up or it was new tab informing about new firefox functions. It was about profile creation and management. Now i have two profiles and cant switch back to my old one. I cant seem to be able to delete new profile to return to my old one.

I would like to remove the first item from the Tab Context Menu, which is "Add Tab to New Group", and simply have "Reload Tab" as the first menu item.

I was using this code, which worked in FF 145, until the latest update (FF 147)...

However, now there is an extra separator line at the top of the menu (see attached images).

This code also removes the top menu item, but still leaves the separator line on top:

Is there a way to remove the first menu item without adding the separator line?

In Windows 10, I could open Manage Bookmarks with one mouse click on Manage Bookmarks on the Bookmarks toolbar, and the bookmarks would open at the top of my organized list, with the Bookmarks Menu already displaying. One click! Fantastic!

Now, in Windows 11 I am unable to open Manage Bookmarks on the toolbar, as it doesn't exist, and does not exist in the Customize toolbar display either. Instead I must click on the "Show Your Bookmarks" icon on the Bookmarks toolbar, then click on Manage Bookmarks, then must scroll the results to the top, then click on Bookmarks Menu. This procedure, compared to how simple things were with Firefox, using Windows 10, is a real waste of valuable time.

Is there any way to open Manage Bookmarks, with Bookmarks menu displayed, with one click of an icon on the Bookmarks toolbar, as was the case with my Windows 10?

I’m reaching out because I’ve been experiencing persistent loading delays on Firefox across all websites. Pages eventually load, but it consistently takes longer than it should or don't load at all, can't even log in on some sites such as Twitch. At first, I thought the issue was only on YouTube, but I’ve confirmed it affects all websites.

I’ve already gone through extensive troubleshooting steps, including: Clearing cookies and cache Changing DNS providers (tried both Cloudflare and Google DNS) Using the Firefox Refresh option Fully reinstalling Firefox Scanning my system for malware (none detected) Verifying that no extensions or add-ons are installed Confirming my internet connection and speed are stable Testing the same sites in Chrome, where everything loads smoothly Despite all of this, the problem persists only in Firefox. I downloaded firefox desktop for my imac 27" none of the passwords I had on file would work so I changed the password and tried it. It appeared to work but after a while the incorrect password came up again. I continued to try using the code you sent via email several times and even though it appeared to. accept the password it still rejects your code. I have tried both caps and lower case characters but it still rejects the login

I want to delete/remove subject folder from my Windows 11 desktop. I did not create this folder; it suddenly appeared after I reinstalled the Firefox browser. These are the steps I am using in the deletion process: I right click on the folder and click on the delete icon. At the top of the window it says "Folder Access Denied." (Image 1) Below that it says, "You'll need to provide administrator permission to delete this folder." If I click on the "Continue" button, then the error message changes to "You require permission from OWNER/(me) ... to make changes to this folder." (Image 3) The permissions for this folder listed in the "Security" tab lists three groups: 1. "SYSTEM," 2. "F... S... (...@ Outlook.com)" and 3. "Administrators (Owners/Administrators)." All the foregoing have full control and modify control for this folder. The "More details" seen in Images 1 and 3 is grayed out so I cannot get any additional information. I keep getting this message when I try to sign in on Firefox. Chrome let's me sign on but i much prefer Firefox. Any suggestion? {

How can I get all Firefox settings as a simple table? I am sure that is how they are kept by the program, somewhere outside the Firefox UI. Are they kept in the System Registry? It would sure make troubleshooting & continuity easier when moving to new devices/CPUs.

I just bought new PC and switched to win11(never happened on win10). Videos stutter when on 2nd monitor and game is open on first, but audio doesn't. Problem goes away immediately when clicking to the firefox window. Happens on both youtube and twitch, but not on Nebula.tv and not on chrome. Doesn't happen if the video is 480p, but does on 720 and 1080 and both of them are 60fps which might be something. Also doesn't happen if the game is windowed, but does on fullscreen and borderless.

I've disabled hardware acceleration (in windows and browser). I've tried setting both monitors to 60hz, setting firefox priority to high (and game to low), disabling effiency mode, setting power mode to performance and tried a lot of other things including about:config settings. Also ruled out extensions.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9700X GPU: RTX5070 1st monitor: 180hz 2nd: 80hz
