bold text All of a sudden today Saturday the 11th Thunderbird stopped sending email on COX but it can receive them. It was working fine then all of a sudden the sending of email stopped. At first I thought that is was Cox being down again, (I've had connection problems this week). But while I was trying to figure it out I received a number of emails. I tried sending a test email to myself usually they go right away but it did not go.

I called Cox. They tech connected to my computer, made some checks, (updated Thunderbird) and after about 20 minutes it started to send messages. 10 minutes later it stopped working AGAIN. This started a four hour telephone marathon with just about every level of service that Cox has. I ended up with Complete Care and while I was on the phone with him and he was connected to my computer the service tech from Cox who was here to check my signal and modem showed up. He tried to look at the problem and could not figure it out. Note I can send and receive mail from the COX email website but and only receive email in Thunderbird.

Cox tells me it is a Mozilla or Thunderbird problem I'm telling them it is not that it is a Cox problem because the server is SENDING me email to Thunderbird but the Cox INCOMING mail server it not connecting to Thunderbird to receive emails. They claim that because I can send and receive on the web page but can not send with Thunderbird. I'm telling them it is a Cox problem.

Anyone else have this issue? Anyone have a solution? I'm shutdown here with over a 25 year history of emails sitting in Thunderbird.

Since some time when I start up Thunderbird I get a popup:

"Add Security Exception" + "You are about to override how Thunderbird identifies this site"

In forums it was stateed this can be due to the antivirus program. I am using Acronis Cyber Protect Home. I closed Thunderbird, pauzed the real time protection and started up Thunderbird again: this did not solve the issue: I still get the pop up, see image attached.

Is there a way to analyse the origin of this pop up? What's triggering this pop up in Thunderbird?

Greetings, I experienced this problem with the prior update, now after the current update i get this" internal Server error" Hopefully you can straighten this out. I hate using Google for anything!

When photos, videos, or websites are linked on a FB comment, it used to display a thumbnail preview below the comment. Now it just shows the link. On mobile, the preview appears. So I'm thinking a setting got changed on the desktop version.

Does anyone know what the issue is and how to correct?

My computer updated with no warning one night, and i lost all personalization and even everything stored in my firefox, the sign ins, passwords, bookmarks, all. is there a way for me to find all that was erased?

Automatically hide taskbar in desktop mode => Enabled Firefox => Maximised When cursor is moved to outer edge of screen, taskbar should unhide (Expected behaviour) but in this case it remain hidden (Reality). Firefox along with all other spinoffs give same result. Chromium based browser works perfect, and taskbar automatically unhide itself.

As OLED screen have became common as monitor, Taskbar auto-hide is must. If this issue cann't be fixed I may have to change my primary browser which I used for almost 15 years.

Kindly, look into it. If Chromium can do it, why not Firefox.

I can receive emails but cannot send. The error message I get when sending emails. This began as of the most recent Thunderbird update:

I am using a Android device, I am finding sync issues in login to my browser, a computer screen is active on my device may be through wch a shared browser is connected. I am not sharing my connection with any one nor I have a computer system for my internet access. While signing in its showing a authorisation error. My internet connection is totally private and confidential & personal wch I am the only user. Why is that I am finding authorisation error and who is the one who authorises me...?? Hello, Firefox randomly downloaded a file, with seemingly randomly name, that is 0 bytes and in download manager the source is moz-safe-about. It happened when I was accessing a popular wiki site. I opened the file in notepad, it was empty. I put it on virus total and came back negative, as it is an empty file. I've curbed through the support tickets here, using the keyphrase 'moz-safe-about'. I understand this was/is quite a common problem, but it still makes me quite worried and left a sour taste in my mouth, as I haven't understood any of the explanations. I have enabled firefox to ask me whenever it wants to save something (I have no idea why this isnt the default state). Happened on a somewhat fresh, updated win 11 installation. I'm also attaching more information here with a picture. Long story short: should I be worried? Am I overreacting and this is just some sort of a bug that occurred while getting a sites data? Hello, this may not be a problem with Firefox itself at all, but I'd like to try to understand what the cause of the problem I and others are having.

I have Norton 360 installed, in this Windows 10 computer and like to use Firefox for internet browsing, it has always served me well.

I also have Norton Safe Search integrated/add-on to Firefox. This puts a red, green, or gray check mark at the end of each link that comes up during a search and has always worked before.

Recently, I've noticed that such check marks do not appear at all when doing a search with Firefox, but they are present when I do searches with MS Edge.

I am searching for a solution here, and also in the Norton Community. There are others there who have stated they are having the same problem.

Has anyone here heard of this before, would you have any suggestion as to what may be causing the lack of the Norton Safe Search check marks in Firefox searches?

Any input/suggestions would be welcome.

I have seen numerous posts on this forum involving the "Leave Messages on Server" option in the server portion of the Account settings. Many of these posts include responders stating that this option does not apply to POP servers.

If this is correct, why does Thunderbird even include this setting for an account that is explicitly designated as a POP server/account? This is an invitation to confusion and misunderstanding; I have been a victim of this. It seems to me to be a no-brainer to change the code to remove this option from these POP accounts.

Google reCaptcha is not working for about 1 day, but no problem in Chrome browser. Does anyone else experience this? I use the latest firefox browser.

My name is Grey, and I'm experiencing an issue using Firefox as a browser to open my Outlook mail. For the past three days I have not been able to open any emails as a network error screen appears. Using other devices and other browsers like Edge, the emails open fine, so it is not actually a network issue. This problem only occurs using Firefox, and specifically with Outlook emails. Everything else functions fine and I have not made any changes, besides the regular Firefox update. My computer is also up to date.

What can I do about this issue? I appreciate the advice,

Hi, I am looking for some help. I am using Windows 10, Comcast internet, and a VPN. I get error message when my VPN is on saying that my IP Address has bee blacklisted and I can not send or receive emails using Thunderbird. I also get an error within Thunderbird. My VPN Service says its either Comcast or Thunderbird. Been working with Comcast on the issue. Could it be a Thunderbird issue? My VPN Service says to reinstall Thunderbird but no guaranties that will help. Please let me know if there are any solutions I can try. Otherwise I may need to pay more for a dedicated IP Address. I want to print a page. But without the header and footer stuff (because it is ugly and I don't want others to see the information). There are a lot of old pages here and on other places about how to do this. They are unfortunately all deprecated. What is the way to do this as of 2023? OS is Windows, btw.

after updating newest the version of Firefox the option to" restore previous windows opened " does not work. Is there a work around when I close my browser and then reopen the browser so that all the tabs that I had opened before closing my browser return as if I never left?I went into my setting and have the "open previous tabs" is checked. I even restarted my browser but nothing simple seems to work. Thanks in advance

I've got a really old MacBook Pro that's still running 10.13, and Firefox has started displaying a nag screen telling me that this version is no longer supported, and to install a newer version of MacOS.

Is there something in the advanced settings that will stop it nagging me? I now know it's not going to get any more updates, there's no need to keep telling me every 20 minutes...

(Note to the devs: a "don't remind me again" checkbox would be nice for things like this!)
