Sent mail not being saved in my sent mail folders.

When sending emails, TB has always filed them correctly in my IMAP sent folders. Today it comes up with a message Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in you… (читать ещё)

When sending emails, TB has always filed them correctly in my IMAP sent folders. Today it comes up with a message

Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder due to a network or file access errors

I can only save by selectic save to local folders.

Any ideas - it has completely cocked up my use of TB!!!!

Hello, I use Thunderbird (since years) version 78.5.0 under Windows 10. This morning all was ok, but this afternoon it refuses to collect my mail. I searched for the problem in help for Thunderbird and found a solution : in the pop email server setup I changed the security of the connection to None (it was SSL/TLS). And it works. My question is : do I now have a security problem ? Thanks.

receiving emails go to junk folder

every email I receive goes straight into the junk folder. this started months ago and I couldnt resolve it. even went to the trouble of uninstalling thunderbird and reinstalling but problem remains. stopped using thunderbird but decided to give it another go and still all incoming emails go to the junk folder

even when I transfer all my emails out of junk into the inbox they almost immediately go back in the junk folder. I'm guessing its a setting problem but I havent been able to fix

i've been using thunderbird for many many years & starting last tuesday i was no longer able to send or receive email. i looked at the tips online & tried many suggestions. i contacted AT&T and they allowed to me create a new password. that at least me to allow me to access & send email online, but that program is very inferior to thunderbird. hope you can help solve the problem, since i love thunderbird. thanks

Haven't been receiving mail for three days.

The update log says my Thunderbird updated to the newest update on 11/19, I updated my computer to Windows 10 on 11/23. The last time I received a new email on Thunderbird was 11/26. I've followed all troubleshooting suggested on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cannot-receive-messages#w_the-problem-suddenly-started-after-updating-to-thunderbird-version-78-try-this. I even restarted my computer after each troubleshooting option and nothing has helped. I am able to log into my mail directly on the servers site. I have a family member that also uses Thunderbird on Win 10 and uses the same email server, she is not having this problem.

Clicking on links within emails no longer opens the page in my browser. I followed the different steps in this article (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/hyperlinks-in-messages-not-working), specifically the following:

  • Confirmed that Chrome is set as the default browser
  • Checked that no application is specified for the HTTP content type
  • Checked for an incorrect preference (no network.protocol-handler preferences found)
  • Started Thunderbird in Safe Mode

None of these resolved the problem. I am running Windows 10 Home on a Dell Inspiron.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Last night, everything was working OK. This morning Thunderbird would not connect to the email server. It now hangs on "connected to imap.ionos.co.uk". ISP says they have not changed anything. I am using their suggested settings STARTTLS and SSL/TLS and suggested ports. As Thunderbird says it is connected, it seems to be a problem the ISP end. They blame Thunderbird. I have tried turning down the security to use outdated security protocols TLS 1.0 and 1.1 using the config editor but, with the ISPs suggested settings, it still does not work. Changing the security in Thunderbird to NONE allows Thunderbird to download and send emails.

Any suggestions please?

Thunderbird had been working on all my computers till this morning. Now, when I try to send email, I get the following error message: Sending of the message failed. Peer reports incompatible or unsupported protocol version.

I tried downloading a new Thunderbird, still get the same error message. Don't have a clue as to where to go or what to do.

Recently i got a problem related to push notifications on Firefox, I've already subscribed (or allowed) to notification permission on some websites like Twitter, Gmail but I don't receive any notification when I closed their tabs . It's working fine if the tab of particular website is loaded on Firefox but once I closed it I don't get any notification especially from those websites on which I allowed the notification permission.

Some people suggested me to use chromium or other browsers to get this behavior but I don't want to replace Firefox with any other browser because their dev tools are better than what others are suggesting to me.

Firefox version: 76.0.1 OS: Manjaro with I3gaps window manager Script (or app) for display the notification : Dunst

1st, what exactly, by default, is put into the Trash folder? 2nd, What do I do to get the Trashcan (with settings and Icon) back, if it is removed somehow? 3rd, can I direct my Spam, Junk and Deleted to the Trash Can, without using message filters?

I lost my Trash Icon, under one of my Email Accounts, and I created a Trash Folder but it is not what useful. Can someone explain where and/or how to restore the original Trash Can under any account? Thank you... Robert

Somehow instead of being able to go directly to an internet address from an email instead it puts me thru something that begins with r20.rs6.net (followed by many letters and numbers) and sometimes redirects. Running Windows10 Pro 64 (Windows update 2004) and TB 78.1.1 32bit. Despite "Check mail at Startup" being set in server settings - TB DOESN'T Check. Instead of opening my INBOX as it used to on startup, it opens a page of settings. I've tried entering the ADDRESS of my INBOX for TB to use - it has no effect. The settings Page still displays . . . These things are BASIC FUNCTIONALITY - can we have them back please? The "Manual Sort Folders" Add-on, (purported to Solve the INBOX issue) is not supported by TB 78.1.1 anyway. I really don't think it should be necessary to resort to Add-ons for such basic functionality

I tried version 78. I have four suggestions:

1) Return to the version 68 or earlier icons. The new ones look unnaturally bold and cartoonish when close to bits of text, like labels.

2) Restore the ability to use an add-on implementing a "Get All Message" button, or make it a standard feature.

3) Restore the 68-style entry for cc: and bcc: and the ability to enter more than one of each.

4) In the message view, put "Delete" back on the right.

Why mess with a good thing? Change for the sake of change is rarely productive.

Po aktualizácii Thunderbird z 68.12.0 na 78.2.2. nefunguje prijatie pošty jednej z mailových schránok. V Thubderbirde mám nastavené tri rôzne emailové schránky, po aktualizácii dve fungujú bez problémov. Jedná má problém s prijatím správ. Nestiahne aktuálne správy a nevypíše ani chybu. Správa sa ale odoslať dá. Skúsil som konto odstrániť a nastaviť nanovo a pri nastavení všetkých údajov Thunderbird konto nevytvorí a napíše "Thunderbirdu sa nepodarilo nájsť nastavenie pre Váš poštový účet". Skúšal som prihlásiť konto aj na iných mailových klientoch, tam všetko funguje bez problémov. Vopred ďakujem za pomoc, alebo radu.

I have just now set up the new version of Thunderbird. I must have made some mistake in setting up my new account. I can enter the "to" from my address book but cannot figure out how to send "cc" to multiple addresses. I can send with one cc recipient but can't figure out how to include multiple cc recipients.

I love Thunderbird - it is a great email system.

As you can guess from such a fundamental question, I am quite elderly and not a teckie.

Any chance that one of the youngsters among your volunteers can help an old man out?
