Hi, I am running Thunderbird v. 115.9.0 on Windows 10 on my desktop. I have been forced by Rogers in Canada to migrate my internet service from their legacy internet service to Rogers Ignite with its Ignite (Comcast) gateway. My email accounts were supposed to be migrated automatically, but, for reasons unknown, were not, and a tech support representative had to migrate them from the old legacy service to Ignite. After that was done, I opened Thunderbird, and was asked to authenticate my 2 Rogers/Yahoo email accounts, one of which is my primary account, the other a secondary account. I was asked to authenticate the secondary account first, which went well. I then clicked on my primary account in the left-hand pane and was again asked to authenticate, but the dialogue box showed it was for the secondary account. Thinking that this secondary account authentication was just being repeated for no particular reason, and not thinking that the email address in the authentication request box could be changed, I clicked Agree. My primary account is now showing the exact same emails as are listed in the secondary account, and I'm extremely concerned that I will not be able to recover all of the thousands of emails in my primary account, many of which are business-related. When I log into my primary account on the Rogers/Yahoo mail website, the emails in the primary account are still showing, so I know they are still on the Rogers IMAP server. However, I really want to continue to use my primary account on Thunderbird. I'm not sure if I should delete the primary account and recreate it - the Rogers support tech said that deleting the account may result in an issue where my current password for a re-created primary account may not be recognized, so I'm leaving things as they are until I hear back. It the advice is to not delete and recreate the account, what steps can I take to recover the emails on my primary account in Thunderbird. Hello, my Cox email account was migrated to Yahoo mail. I can receive emails but now I can't send emails from Thunderbird. I've triple checked server settings. Please help. Thanks-Vince

This is the message I get and it does this with all email addresses.

Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Request failed; Mailbox unavailable. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again.

I'm trying to move Thunderbird to a new PC. Both PC's are running Windows 11. I've followed the instructions for locating my profile. According to "Troubleshooting Information" my profile is supposed to be located at "C:\Users\photo\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\k6i7koof.default-release\Mail\Local Folders". When I click on the "Open Folder" button, I receive an error message that the folder does not exist. When I try navigating to the folder manually, I can not find a "Thunderbird" folder under "AppData\Roaming". I've selected "Show Hidden Files/Folders" under Windows Explorer. I know my profile exists because I can access a set of Local Folders when I'm in Thunderbird. I'd really like to move those folders over to my new PC. Any help to find the profile folder will be much appreciated.

I have downloaded Thunderbird to a new Windows computer but cannot connect to my Spectrum server. I have 2 other computers with Thunderbird which work fine. Spectrum is unable to help and feel there may be an issue with Thunderbird. I have uninstalled and then reinstalled Thunderbird to no avail. Any clues, anyone?

As of today Cox is moving all email services to Yahoo. I have been using Thunderbird for Cox.net email. I have about 40 existing folders under cox.net. Yahoo now has Cox.net and is providing my new emails so I still have the same email address and can access it through webmail. What is the best way to transition this from the old Cox cox.net to the new Yahoo cox.net on Thunderbird and keep all existing folders? Thank You

Attempts to run Thunderbird 115.12.1 in Windows 11 have failed repeatedly with error message: Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password.

I lost my previous PC due to an unrecoverable hard drive crash. My current email provider is AOL and I was using the Thunderbird email app prior to the crash. According to some of the O&A posed at this site, I may have to contact AOL directly for assistance.

Please advise what information I need from them to complete the installation. I know you guys are busy and I can receive current emails from AOL at this time so there is no need to rush on my account.

I like Thunderbird a lot.

All of a sudden, I can't download any attachments, no matter what file type it is. I've reset Firefox to it's default, restarted, everything suggested. I don't have the first clue as to what this is.

I DL'd LibreOffice. I went to Writer to create a master grocery shopping list. I figured I'd use a Table. It asked me if I wanted to Create a Database. I figured yeah, I'm going to probably create all kinds of grocery shopping lists. Per store. Per item. I want to cross reference items to compare. Perhaps keep records of store price and best sale price with date of sale. I don't know what is possible yet. Anyway, to create a LIbreWriter Database it errored that I needed to install a JAVA JRE. Java says FF doesn't support it.

It linked to Oracle whereby I could not find a comparable DL to JRE.

Support.mozilla seems to have been saying do it offline with a bunch of complicated workarounds.

I just want to do something simple to fix this. I have to do a complicated update for Win7 to 8 or 10, then to 11 and have been preparing backups on my 2TB HP with an already partitioned hard drive so I don't have time to mess around (plus medical issues make it difficult to do most days. I mention this because perhaps Win11 will factor into your reply.

What's the best thing to do? DL a specific/different Office Style Suite to work with FF? If so which? What's the safest way to go? Thank you for your advise.

I downloaded a Windows 10 update last night. It was Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267202 (Version 1.361.793.0). Now, I cannot open Firefox. When I click on Firefox for around half a second I see an error box that says "Open Firefox in troubleshooting mode?" and nothing else, with no option to click yes, then the box closes. The same thing happens when I try to run firefox.exe -p to change profiles. I also cannot open Tor Browser, and I am wondering if there is a connection. I have tried uninstalling Firefox using the uninstall tool and reinstalling but I have the same issue. I uninstalled the windows update and opened Firefox. This time, it had the "Open Firefox in troubleshooting mode?" box but I could actually click on the yes option, and Firefox opened. However, when I clicked on the option to get a fresh install and remove the extensions, Firefox closed and I am back to the same place of it not being able to open again.

I found nothing in FF extensions add-ons to facilitate this program/app. FF won't work with JAVA files but they provided no alternative. LibreOffice is the only free Office-like program/app. that is currently up and working today that I can find on any list I've pulled via browser on the first page or two.

It is so confusing to go to Edge or Chrome to use it - and hard to move things from FF over to Edge to get to LibreOffice - can't follow what I'm doing that way. I want to use FF. I feel safer there.

I don't trust downloading from random sites. Bait and switch for files. Malware. If there are is a trust-worthing d/l workaround pls tell me. I;m not up on them - not in the loop.

I need assistive technology really - this is just a start for me to get organized. You can give me advise on what keeps you swift and organized if you can too. Appreciate that much too. Thanks for any help.

The Motherboard on my Windows 7 gave up, however the SSD that it was on is still working properly.

I have seen it on an alternative Windows 7 computer.

I specifically wish to recover the the Bookmarks that is on the Mozilla Firefox browser, and also all of my emails on Mozilla Thunderbird.

I would be most grateful, if someone can please tell me how this can be done?

Anyone know if there is a way to import Google Chrome extensions into Firefox. I am moving over and want to make it easy. When I search all I get is bookmarks which I know how to do.

Hello, Last few days Firefox keeps automatically downloading strange files like mLZrOMIV.htm icFSREgF.htm

They are 0 bytes, empty when I open in notepad and if I right click in download section and select copy download link I just get about:blank

I checked PC for viruses using Eset Online tool and Windows defender. No problems.

Has anyone run into something like this?

I am following all the instructions. It has continued to fail for the past year. I've uninstalled ff and reinstalled ff. I've tried creating new profiles. I can import everything into Chrome or from Chrome to MSE, but NOTHING will import into ff from any other browser.
