I want firefox to not only cache the URL and page title, but also cache the page contents, so that if I do a URL bar search for a word that was only contained in a page that a visited (not in the title or url) firefox finds it. Apparently chrome already does this. Why doesn't firefox? I can't even find a add-on that does this for firefox.

On my MacOS 10.15.7 system I upgraded from 125.0.2 to FF 126.0 this afternoon. When I started the new version of FF and acknowledged the "downloaded app OK" dialog all the tabs opened as expected except for WordsWithFriends (on Facebook). WWF draws the full board just fine but then throws a less than descriptive error message: "an error occurred. Please refresh." That is an infinite loop as it will return the same error no matter how many times retry is pressed. I logged out of FB and back in, just in case. No change. FB pages show fine, btw. Closed 126.0 and tried downgrading back to 125.0.2. That version with no longer load (or any of the previous four I had on hand). Consumes 100% of the CPU for about six minutes and then changes to Unresponsive in the Activity Monitor. WWF works fine in Safari and Chrome for what that is worth.

I recently deleted pwnedpasswords.com from my cookies, as well as blocked this website; however, it keeps reappearing in my list of cookies.

I've never even visited this site (that I'm aware of), and it's a bit concerning to me.

In spite of clearing ALL my cookies (and blocking this website), it keeps appearing in my list!

Please advise :)

When I click on a new tab, I get this black Google Search page, which I want to go to open my homepage. When I click on home, it does open my homepage. The image is attached. Any help on how to get rid of it would be appreciated. I do use New Tab Override, but it doesn't seem to be working.

This is my Mac Monterey. My Windows 10 is in Safe Mode With Networking. The last update will not download. That version is 125.0.3. What's available under Windows updates does not download either. Now I am running my antivirus on my Windows to see if it runs clean. I do not know why I cannot apply these updates.

Hey there. To get straight to the point, whenever I am watching a YouTube video on Firefox in full screen, every so often the screen goes black then slowly fades back in. I have no idea how to fix this issues and it is not my computer that is causing it (doesn't happen on other browsers, my computer was tested for a variety of problems and nothing was wrong, etc). I have also looked through Firefox Reddit help pages and the support articles on the Firefox support website but have found nothing to help. Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated! So yesterday I downloaded a bunch of files to mod a game. This warning appeared and since then it's been popping up every time I start the browser. I have cleared all cookies related to the relevant sites. I have removed the warning about unwanted and uncommon software. I would rather not clear all my cookies and data to resolve this, so looking for other suggestions first. I don't mind digging through files or code to make it happen.

Every time I start up firefox, it takes about a full minute to load. It shows an outline of the UI, but does not become usable for a while, windows also puts up a "firefox is not responding" window when the window is interacted with. After loading, opening a new window is unaffected, and page loading is snappy. just the initial launch is the issue. This remains true even after a clean uninstall + reinstall. Appdata folder was removed as well, and did not affect the issue. I do not have any antivirus software other than windows defender, so that should not be an issue. My hardware is also not likely to be at fault, as it is sufficiently up to date (upgraded within last year, not sharing specs here). Chrome starts up in less than a second for reference. Once again, a fresh install with a new profile has the same symptoms. Have tried every available guide to no effect.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra running latest Android update and latest Firefox update. I set Firefox as my default browser. I have un-installed all updates for Samsung Internet and removed all permissions for it. Disabling it is greyed out. Some apps that I use have links to websites. Too frequently, when I go to one of those links, the intro screen for Samsung Internet opens. Then, when I look at the settings in Firefox it is no longer set as the default. Then I set Firefox to default and go to my phone settings to see that Firefox is selected as the default. If I open the previously mentioned app and choose the web link, Firefox will open. But somewhere along the way, the default changes back to Samsung Internet and it's a vicious circle. I have posted in a Samsung forum but haven't gotten a reply that solved the problem. Please help. I recently had to reinstall Windows, as a result of a hard drive issue. This involved reinstalling Firefox from scratch.

As such I had browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash set to false, but browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes was still set to its default value of 1. The combination resulted in a browser restore after a crash...

This would seem to imply that browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash has either been deprecated (though that is not mentioned in the knowledgebase article), or it is not being correctly interrogated in the code. Unless I am missing something, and I do not want to go thru the entire config to see what else I might need to set...

If I am reading this wrong, please let me know if there are other entries that need to change from default. In the event of a crash, I want the browser to start with my home pages, NOT restore.

Currently on FF 125.0.3 (64-bit) - and yes, I know there is an update waiting for me to restart my browser yet again...

Hello! I updated FLOORP on the 5th May, FLOORP crashed and then Brave, Firefox, Waterfox, LibreWolf and Vivaldi started crashing. I had Brave and Vivaldi open when I launched FLOORP and FLOORP asked consent to update itself and after updating, it did not open in “previous session” and I could not open “previous session” through History. When I launched “Settings” from menu, “previous session” opened! I had pinned “Settings” earlier.

Now the bizarre happens; suddenly LibreWolf launches by itself also without “previous session” and open tabs in Brave and Vivaldi disappear to single New Tab. After some tinkering, I was able to restore “previous session” in LibreWolf, Brave and Vivaldi.

Now I close all browsers and open Firefox, no “previous session” and some random windows in its history, opening these random windows also opened “previous session”! 🙄But then Waterfox launches also without “previous session”, here clicking on OneTab extension recovered “previous session”.

Cutting short; I uninstalled, Waterfox, LibreWolf and FLOORP, this did not help, I ran System Restore twice to two different points and it has not resolved the issue.

How do I delete all traces of FireFox. I did the "remove program" but when I reinstall it is remembering that I once had Firefox installed so that tells me it has NOT fully removed all traces of Firefox. So please tell me how to remove everything. I keep getting errors that I don't get when I use other browsers, so there is some sort of issue with Firefox so I absolutely need to remove EVERYTHING. There must be some hidden files that the uninstall program is NOT finding. I need all profiles, files, bookmarks etc GONE!!!!! so I can do a new install. PS The REFRESH did not fix my issues so please don't offer that as a potential solution.

After loading the pop-up blocker extension I cannot access many links inmy email. Suggestions?

Tried uninstalling, selected to not include previous settings and reinstalled. Still having a problem.

Possible conflict with my firewall? How do I uninstall pop-up blocker?
