I got a notice that Firefox (and Thunderbird) were updated this morning. Took me an HOUR to find out how to make the miniscule font in my inbox larger. So.. suddenly, new problem.

When I click the Firefox icon to launch the browser, and reopen my tabs, It opens for a millisecond, then closes faster than I can try to read if there is an error. When I click it AGAIN, all my tabs are GONE and I have to search for them manually, which is a royal pain.

Why is this happening? How can I stop it from happening? This is annoying as hell.

I want to navigate on search results using the keyboard. I could use tab but it suggests all interactive elements such as news, images, books, videos, search settings and etc one by one. I want to press something and make active first result, then second. If such hotkeys are not provided, maybe there are any extensions with similar functionality?

This problem started yesterday and I cant seem to fix it where youtube is too wide for my screen without any indicator on the top of my screen saying that its zoomed in and I cant watch any videos fullscreen. This glitch isn't a problem on any other websites. I tried opening and closing the browser, I tried restarting my computer tried clearing my cache and cookies and I tried using different accounts but none of them seem to fix the problem!

From a security / QOL pov I'd like to disable an extension on some websites, and was wondering if there were any methods to do this?

I searched this question first through reddit and the support site and found similar questions with no updates asked between 4-6 years ago, wondering if there's been a method implemented yet or if it's still not possible.

I am on Android Firefox and I accidentally chose "Always" on the pop-up asking where I want my downloaded items to go. I want to change it because where the files are now sent is inconvenient at best but i cannot find such an option to change my preference in either the Firefox settings bar nor my phone's device settings.

I don't know why, but since today firefox keeps reloading all my tabs I have open every couple of minutes. It happens on both my desktop and laptop and its getting annoying. I also disabled the auto refresh in config, along with clearing the cache. I uninstall the plugins that I installed last week, and still happens.

When a bookmark is made, there is no option anywhere to add tags using windows 11 - I had no problem with tagging bookmarks using Firefox in windows 10, but that option is not showing up for me in windows 11. I have refreshed Firefox with no success to try to correct this situation - thanks in advance for any help you may provide – del

As shown in the image the tags field is missing from my bookmarks editor. Any idea how this could happen? Any options or about:config options I should check?

I've attached troubleshooting information. I'm on Arch Linux and I have two other Arch machines on the same Firefox version (Arch Linux Package) that do not exhibit this behavior.

I am unable to login to my Prescription provider's website (which I do every day). Problem started Sunday and still persists.

I am able to login using Chrome, so I know the website is working properly.

Help - I DO NOT want to use Chrome.

I recently got a new computer with Windows 11 freshly installed. I downloaded Firefox, went to take a screenshot, and the usual shortcut of Ctrl + Shift + S does not work. I can right click and Take a Screenshot, and I can use other Ctrl + Shift shortcuts, like Ctrl + Shift + T to reopen closed tabs. The only one that doesn't work is screenshots. I can also put Screenshots in my top row Toolbar and use it, just not the keyboard shortcut.

I refreshed Firefox, uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, as well as checked the about:config extensions.screenshots.disabled preference. It has been set to false, so I have set it to true and false again hoping it would "reset" it but nothing. Thank you!

But Firefox keeps starting automatically when I restart my computer. Attached is an image of how the settings are now.

What should I do? This is a bit annoying. I don't use Firefox as my main browser but I work as a customer success manager for an online platform and always need to do some tests on Firefox, but I don't want it to start automatically when I turn on my computer.

I'm having issues with the cursor when opening a new tab and I've tried a few different fixes and none are really working.

When I open a new tab the cursor goes immediately to the start of the homepage URL which is not helpful as if I type it just retains the URL after what I've typing(See Image). I've tried playing around with about:config to get the cursor to populate into the google search bar on the browser home screen but, it doesn't work.

I've also tried setting the new tab page to blank but, then sometimes it doesn't search google even though it says it should and says URL unrecognised(see the other images).

Why is this happening, I just want to be able to not have to manually delete the URL to search using the search bar and this seems like really basic functionality to me.

This is a recurring problem. I have just been on to Vodafone who have tweaked my router as my speeds, download and upload, were very erratic, and upload speed often zero so connections failed. Sometimes my phone speeds were similar but not always. The Speedtest by Oopla desktop app also showed erratic results but often when they were OK the web-based test on Firefox was much worse, with upload speed zero. When I started this Firefox showed upload speed zero. Now Firefox shows upload 18Mbps. This variability keeps happening and is driving me spare, as even emails often fail to go through - I use Thunderbird. I shall see how things go tomorrow and tell you how it is going.

The videos take a long time to play. I upgraded my system recently and was removing and reinstalling audio-related utilities with DNF.

Is there a main location where Firefox extensions (like Forecastfox) keep their settings? If so, or if you happen to know where Forecastfox in particular keeps its settings, I could use some help locating this folder. I have a settings file I could put in there to overcome some difficulties that the folks at Mozillazine can't seem to help with. Hiya. I usually have a fairly large number of tabs open on the browser. I use the Panorama View add-on for tab management. Usually this means that on any given container I have about 10-20 tabs open for a total of some 300 odd tabs. The nice thing is that Firefox doesn't usually load all my tabs so this works out for me. Recently however something weird's been going on and Firefox just refreshed ALL my tabs across all the containers. This kills my performance completely, especially given a fair number of tabs are just random youtube links. When all my tabs are open Firefox eats up like 25 GB of RAM, which is understandably not great.

I tried refreshing Firefox to no avail. Is there any way to stop this constant loading of all tabs?

I see with windows Firefox version 118 a TLS extension id 65037 on every client hello handshake containing a bunch of data. Does somebody know what this extension is used for? I couldn't find anything about this on the web or in the firefox docs / release notes. Other browser (chrome / edge) don't have this extension in use.

In windows 10, I got used to opening a new window in FF and then a "tab" for the new window would open in the taskbar. I could then switch between windows by clicking on these tabs on the taskbar. In windows 11, I can click on the FF icon in the taskbar and open a new window, but a tab for that new window no longer appears on the taskbar. Instead of the previous tabs on the taskbar for each new/open window, there is nothing. I have tried the suggestion, found in another thread, to use about:config to change to false the setting browser.taskbar.previews.enable, but there was no difference. Does someone know another approach, or is this a windows 11 "feature"?

When i go to open a PDF file with Firefox, the text renders incorrectly (see image) for most PDF files, but not all (i'm not sure why. And this only happens with the Flatpak version of Firefox [1]. It doesn't happen with Firefox ESR (DEB version from my distribution) [2] and it doesn't happen if i view the same PDF file with pdf.js in a non-Firefox Flatpak app (GNOME Web) [3].

I've tried reinstalling and tried starting in troubleshoot mode, but neither seemed to fix the issue.
