I use Thunderbird on both a Windows PC and an Android smartphone (Thunderbird 8.2) in order to manage several email accounts of mine.

The latter has been showing me for a while that the password for one of the accounts is incorrect. However, I see no way to change it. When I click "Parameters", I see three groups of parameters (I am translating from the French) "General parameters", "Accounts", "Backup" (exporting/importing parameters), "Other". In none there is any mention of passwords.

How do I go about doing that?

My Tbird password has gone missing. I can't sign in to email. I looked up saved passwords in Settings>Privacy & security>Passwords>Saved passwords but that password doesn't work either. How do I rest my password?

Hi , I am trying to log into my Thunderbird email account on a new computer , I have forgotten/lost the password ,I found the page to view/change passwords but it is asking me for my password before it will let me see it !.I am still logged in on my old computer !.What can I do ?

When I try to install Thunderbird on new computer it recognizes my email and asks for a password. I have forgotten my password. I don't see a "reset password" or "forgot password" option. Please help.

I was recently asked for my email account password after many years. I have no idea what it is after all this time so I reset my password. I received an email from you accepting the new password. I still cannot login since it will not accept the new password. Who knows what the old one was. I initially tried to recover the old one but no luck doing that. Help!.

I lost my primary password so I tried to reset it using this code in the console: "chrome://pippki/content/resetpassword.xhtml" . It has been running for a long time. I haven't received the Reset Password popup. It is still running. Attached is the screen shot.

Overnight, while computer was sleeping, Thunderbird appears to have forgotten the email password. A dialog box pops up when checking email "login to server pop.centurylink.net with username {correct email address displayed} failed." With options retry, enter new password, and cancel available. Retry simply loops back to this error. Entering the (verified) correct password has no positive impact at all. Program and computer rebooted, no change. Windows 11 Pro. Password was not recently changed.

I used my recovery key to get into my Mozilla account. A followup email arrived telling me that a new recovery key had been created. But the new key wasn't included in the email. How can I get another recovery key? It's a useful tool. Thanks Wayne Nelson

I cannot access my email account - [email]@mercosound.com using Thunderbird. I need to change the password that Thunderbird has stored in order to access that email account, but Thunderbird is not allowing me to view/change the existing password. I get a popup window asking for my password (Mozilla??) but don't know what that is.

I forgot and can't find my primary password. I can't reset and remove it unless I know it. I uninstalled the program, paid a contribution, reinstalled and still cannot reset, remove old, or make new password. Can't get into to send emails, but can see and read files.
