After a crash I had to reinstall ubuntu and switched to 24.4 where Thunderbird is installed via snap.

I have my old home directory with my old .firefox installation and want to copy my data from the old installation to the newe tb. How can I do this ? brds

I've been having this annoying popup about XULRunner encountering an error. From what I've read, XULRunner is a legacy integration with Firefox. Sure enough, I see Mozilla Firefox installed. But un-installing it doesn't help. Soon, it is re-installed, and the error comes back. I have a feeling that some application is using XULRunner and Firefox as a component, but I don't know what it could be. Is there any way to find out, and stop that application from installing Firefox and XULRunner? Or at least getting its problem fixed?

Whenever you're trying to use app everything is extremely enlarged and it will not let me scroll or zoom in and out to make a selection and when made a selection it does not load the nextbold text

Where is the Error Console?

I have tried doing this for the last couple of days with no success. Is there any way to import all data from another Thunderbird installation? This used to work in previous installations.

Dunno if this is by design, but a lot of installers don't play well when installed from standard user account with elevated privieleges. Firefox installer on Windows 10, when ran from GUI or admin PowerShell, accesses AppData fodler under standard user account that started the elevated process. Thus, it's not possible to install it if admin account doesn't have access to user folder, as on my system it doesn't for security reasons.

It's a minor inconvenience to need to explicitly log into admin account and do it there. But as this is a disease among installers I'd rather have them play well with normal security.

You may disagree here, and I understand if you do. Just pointing it out.

Is this still the current status or are there any plans to support the old Windows versions for a little longer?

Firefox no longer starts up. It crashes and stops responding on MAC Monterey 12.7.4 This is as far forward as it will go on this old mac. Everything worked fine yesterday, start up today and no go. I removed the profile and attempted to restart. No joy. So I downloaded a fresh copy and installed it over the old version. No joy. Cannot access profile manager. Removed version and fresh install, still no joy. How to I get it to launch, then How do I recover data from old profile?

When i do update my configuration settings changing by itself. Example, "browser.cache.disk.enable" is "false" but after every updates its always changing to "true". This happens only after updates.

I know from visiting other forums that updates to Firefox have been released, but MSIX is not installing them - or even notifying me, much less asking if I want to install them. For example, Help > About Firefox shows that I am running V.129.0; yet I'm pretty sure that V.120.0.2 has been released.

Why? What can I do to ensure that I'm running the latest release?

I've restarted Firefox to see if that would work. It did not. I haven't rebooted to see if that works; but, even if it does, that seems to be a rather drastic effort to install a new version.
