Can websites i visit track my browsertheme for example system default or light or dark theme? I like the dark theme but i'm not using it because i fear it makes my browser much more unique, is that so? If so, is there a preference or another way to prefent websites from tracking my browser theme?

Youtube videos stopped working properly: when I open a video page (https://www.youtube.com/abcde) I can only make it go forward by continuously clicking the play button. The video immediately pauses all the time. At first, clicking play played only 1 frame or so. Eventually, after I changed FF's autoplay setting from "Block Audio" to "Allow Audio and Video" videos play a few frames at a time. I do hear the audio (in sync with the video, so also a few frames at a time). It happens with every video I try.

Embedded videos (https://www.youtube.com/embed/abcde) and Youtube's mini player work fine. Video pages do work in a new profile, but I would like to keep my current profile.

Things I've also tried, to no avail:

• disabling all add-ons
• new privacy window
• switching tracking protection between standard and strict
• disabling hardware acceleration
• disabling media controls
• disabling smooth scrolling
• deleting Youtube and Google cookies

This is with the Firefox version on Debian bullseye (91.11.0).

The only similar description I found was on Reddit [1], except that it's a different FF version and it only happens with 1 profile.

I imported my bookmarks from a windows 8.1 computer to Parrot Linux Debian desktop (2 different computers). I am missing the everything from 'Other Bookmarks' after I imported it into the Linux computer, I can see all everything from 'Bookmarks Menu' though. The windows machine is not working anymore. But I have a saved copy of all the bookmarks from the windows 8.1 computer.

Is there a reason my import left out the Other Bookmarks but imported the Bookmarks Menu? How do get them into the linux firefox browser.

09May2022 AusEST 5:25pm I have a query related to the printing of an online monetary transaction, and it's associated incorrect time of printing using Firefox.The details in full will be accompanied with an image representing what I will be referring to. However, I am finding that the image will not be uploaded here at the Mozilla Firefox browser support page. The image is less than 500 KB. I have tried .png & .jpg. Could someone please assist me? Hello, I have a strange issue. When I am in Gmail using Firefox, my time is off by 5 hours. I can open Gmail in Edge and the time is correct.

I have 2 time zones listed in my Google calendar. I removed the secondary one and the time still stays the same.

One posted mentioned that they changed the computer time zone and this resolved the issue. I tried that and still get the same incorrect time.

I can log into my laptop and I get the same issue with Firefox being 5 hours off but Edge being right on time.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike

This is a comment, not a question. I really only want to applaud Firefox and all the volunteers that contribute their thoughts and efforts in writing solutions, explanations and more to the many areas that need to be addressed, especially newcomers to the world of computers and Firefox. I was not raised in a computer environment, in that I am old, born in 1953. Everything and anything I know is from being self taught by jumping online and giving it a go, stumbling around on the web until things made sense to me. Volunteers at Firefox have been invaluable as they have been my teachers almost from the start. In addition to just turning 69 years of age and a bit out of the range of "computer age" I had undiagnosed learning disabilities (ADD, dyslexia, etc) which made classic classroom learning very difficult. With Firefox (and others) volunteers, I am able to take my time, going over what I read several times until it sticks and I can move on to take in a little more knowledge each time I logged (and still log) on. So thank you to all the volunteers who share their expertise and thank you to Firefox for highlighting the names of the authors and teachers and posting them at the end of their articles. Firefox does not just talk the talk, they walk that walk, and stand as a fine example of how well community, helping out and giving of yourself makes for a better world. Without naming names, there are others who now prefer to remain more self-serving in their efforts, pumping up their version of "security" by becoming CENSORS TIMES TEN, limiting and blocking any and all comments that do not conform to that company's beliefs. Like I said, I prefer not to name names....but "YIPEE !" Thank God they are the exception and not the rule. Ain't that right, "YIPEE !" or whatever your real name is ! As they say...'DO YOU !" Firefox. Keep up the great work and again, thanks to all of the many contributors who volunteers their time, energy and expertise in spelling things out, helping to teach Old Knuckleheads like me, how to follow the maps you draw in verbiage, that is the standard for great teaching methods in the many, many areas of computing that I personally got a late start on. In my cfg file for firefox i use a custom DNS server (Quad 9 which uses 9.9.9.9). It appears this causes DNS Leaks while using a VPN.

The line is this: lockPref("network.trr.uri", "https://dns.quad9.net/dns-query"); Obviously instead of writing 9.9.9.9 this line uses the above shown adress.

If i want to use cloudflare which is 1.1.1.1 instead of 9.9.9.9 what adress do i have to use? Still haven't figured this out...

Recently I have noticed that when I want to display HTML source of the page Firefox asks me to log to the site once again. WHY? I am already logged in. The page is already loaded and displayed. So why it needs my password again?????

In some cases the page is actually loaded once again which can result in different content being displayed as "a page" and different as "a source" (if there is a dynamic insertion on the page changed on every get). But sometimes it shows old, cached source while the rendered page is already changed. I know that I can see actual content by using the Inspector but "show the source" function was more convenient. Now I can not believe that the "source" shown is a source of the actual "page" Such misfeatures make the function totally useless.

Firefox version 91.8.0esr for Debian.

When logging into my financial institutions website it reports back that I have version 91... of the Firefox browser installed and that it isn't supported. I actually have version 101.0.1 as reported by the browser itself. I called them and they asked me to check my version of Firefox by using www.whatismybrowser.com and it reports back that I'm running version 91. Can you help?

Just paid $150.00 for a remote session from my computer store. Advice is: My older computer (2004)and it's graphic capabilities aren't compatible with newest FF. So I'll stick with older version (9) until I decide to get new computer. Firefox is my preference, but if I update, it's likely to break again. Please tell me how to stop all update notices. It is maddening. Or, if you can do it, please do. I don't want to use the others. It has crashed twice, just FF, in the last few days. A system restore saved me, but I updated and lost it. Mozilla clearly lost it with their unique identifier, anyways i got a question on this topic.

If i download Firefox here https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release there will be a unique identifier, but if download it here https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/ There won't be such an identifier.

So, which is the better option since i know little about mozilla.org not sure if it's secure. Also when i download from the first link, what will the unique identifier track exactly since i open my browser and paste the URL for download, i don't come to the downloadsite from any other site or search result, i directly go there, so what will happen with the identification in that case? I know i had a similar thread before, but question is still open.

I am wondering if the following is a known problem. If so, I haven’t been able to find the solution online.

I keep copies of home rental online payments as proof of payment should there be a discrepancy with the real estate agency.

This problem can also apply in other situations, for example payment of online purchases, or movement of large amounts of money to varying institutions.

Sometimes the bank payment is delayed and I would like to ensure that not only the date of payment is accurate but also that the time of payment is relatively close. I am finding that the file printed when banking via Firefox is not time dated relatively close to the time of payment. I use Firefox solely for banking as a secure method.

Upon payment I am presented with a bank receipt and an option to print it, all within Firefox’s desktop application. After pressing the PRINT button I choose to print as PDF and save to the computer. The resulting file is what I am referring to.

The pdf receipt is shown with default details at the top and bottom of the page, the bottom being where the date and time of pdf printing occurred. The discrepancy is between that time shown and the actual time of payment. The difference can be sometimes up to 12 hours!

Can someone please assist me to rectify the situation?

for more than 5-7 months its been unusable. it completely freeze. I recently reported this to open ai devs and they tried to do something. Now page responds is in 20-60 seconds range.

means, I open website, i wait 20-60 seconds to load. I ask chat gpt something, i wait 20-60 to actually type my messsage (for my message to be printed after I hit enter). then i refresh page (because nothing moves), wait 20-60 secs to load page and I see the reply.

and yes, each time I was always trying to do with latest version of browser. and I also tried it on a new browser without any extension.

I have a video, I can only share it private with firefox devs if helps.

the reason I didn't reported this last year, was because I got extremely disappointed and unhappy.

it initially started by showing that button-bar at the top, telling that page load slow and to [stop]. by the next month it became worst than 2000's dialup internet, so I stopped using it

I went to the official add-on site and I did not see the Add-on named "multi containers" made by Firefox themselves, yet there were about 6 pages of add-on's similar named 'container' but not the one I wanted which is called 'multi containers' add-on.
