Just as the title goes. I've been using Mozilla Firefox on desktop since 2005. The best hands down browser ever. I started using Firefox on android back in 2019.

I still love the android version, but my only problem with it is tabs. They stay open constantly. In the desktop application you close out and all the tabs close. In the android version I swipe up and there still there next time I load in. I don't like this at all. Unless I quit out of Firefox from the submenu, the tabs will stay open indefinitely.

I was hoping Mozilla could add an option to auto close tabs in 6 hours or something like that. Or close out tabs when I swipe up in android.

I have moved about 20 friends and family to Firefox and it's always going to be Firefox from now on. You guys rock!

Is it possible to use Firefox to find out when a viewed website was last updated? I know that in another browser, it is but cannot see a way of doing it with Firefox.

I use Firefox on my Mac and windows. Recently downloaded Firefox for the first time on ipad. Worked well for the sites that I opened for 15 minutes. Opened at max 4 tabs. Then I was crossing out the opened tabs, it crashed when the last open tab was closed. Tried again, and same thing. Since this is my behavior for every session, this could not continue, and I had to uninstall it from the iPad.

Version 17.5.1 iPad pro M1, 12.9 inch, 5th Gen

When switching to another app from Firefox and then switching back to firefox, the webpage reloads. This is not a memory issue, I have enough RAM and it happens even if I only have 1 tab open. This is a major pain when I need to enter a 2FA code and need to swith apps to get the code. Or if I'm watching a YouTube video and get a call, the youtuve page reloads after the call has ended. Please suggest how to fix this.

I updated the iOS app today and it closed all my tabs in private browsing mode and will not keep any open. It also will not default to private browsing anymore even if I open a link from a private window. The help pages list settings that do not exist. Please advise

My tabs are being refresh everytime after I left to switch to other tabs then come back. This constantly happening even when I did not open another app, just browsing between firefox tabs. Already play with battery setting in app info and change it to unrestricted and nothing changes. Can anyone help? btw I'm using galaxy tab s6

1. When we press Home button in the app toolbar, It opens a new tab and sends the active tab in background instead of closing the tab. The correct working of Home button is to show Homepage in current tab. For opening new tab, we can use "New Tab" option. Because of this all tabs keep getting stored in background and it's quote irritating.

2. Same for back swipe gesture, the tab gets stored in background instead of closing. For example, I clicked on an Article in Google Feed, it redirects to Firefox, now after reading the article, I swiped back to go back to Google Feed. Now swiping back gesture doesn't close the active tab, instead it stored the tab in background. Because of this too much tabs gets stored in background and need manual effort to remove the tabs.

So, Fix these two features.

Your new update has possibly screwed my private tavs opening data because private tabs no longer open when I use the firefox IOS website for my Iphone and it is quite annoying since I had a lot of private tabs open before this incident occurred Can I please get a response on how to fix this annoying problem by the firefox team and when an update will occur to fix it this from this 127.0 New Update of yours please fix the private tabs from closing on my IOS Iphone device it is quite annoying when I fully exit the app or give me an idea how to fix it.

I bought a new android (Samsung) tablet. I want to sync all the tabs I have on my Windows PC to the tablet. I am not tech savvy.. further, why can't the Firefox page that shows all my saved tabs and bookmarks look the same on my tablet? sheesh...

Since I am on my new Phone (Xiaomi Poco F6, Hyper OS 1.0.4.0, Android 14.UKQ1.240116.001), I have this weird thing with Firefox that when I minimize it and then come back a few seconds later, it will automatically reload the tab I was on. Which is extremely annoying because, for example, I was on the Paypal page and was getting my login code from messages, then when I got back on the Paypal page it reloaded and I could not insert the code, but had to click on 'send code' again (and again and again). I saw this issue appear multiple times apparently already on reddit and co. But nowhere I could find an answer to it. Someone? I looked in the battery saver settings and in firefox settings etc, but I can't find anything that makes tabs reload automatically and it makes no sense that anything would clear the cache every time I minimize firefox, no?

From time to time firefox deletes suddenly all my tabs in normal as in private browsing. Also few years ago I could turn off the „close private tabs“ option in setting, but since firefox cleared off everything (again), that option ain‘t available anymore. Someone pls help.

Ever since I updated the app, all of my tabs keep disappearing when I close the app. I’ve kept a lot of tabs on my Firefox app, and it’s very upsetting that I keep losing the tabs that I need. Is there any fix?

when i have more than 10 pages open the app starts crashing, won't let me go back as well and sometimes just reloads. There were also situations in which he grabbed me without me doing anything. I have about 4-5 extensions (in the photo). I'm using Samsung Galaxy S24, my previous was A52 (I had no problem with it)

Firefox for Andoird crashes every time tab listing opened. If I do "about:crashes" i see the attached list of crashes ...

"java.lang.IllegalArgumentException..."

Why would your team release a version that closes all tabs in private browser mode? Why would you not list this in your release notes? I only browse in Private mode and prefer to leave tabs open there. Please return the feature or give the user the option to close all tabs on exit

I am writing to request assistance with an issue I am encountering on the latest version of the Firefox browser for Android. My goal is to open specified pages in the same tab using Intent from a third-party custom application. However, I have observed that different URLs open in separate tabs, contrary to my expectations.  Current Implementation:  Here is the code snippet I am currently using: java： Intent intent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW); intent.setData(uri); intent.putExtra(Browser.EXTRA_APPLICATION_ID, packageName); startActivity(intent); Expected Behavior:  I expect different URLs to open in the same tab without opening new tabs. This functionality is crucial for my application.  Issue Background:  I have researched similar issues and found that users have had comparable needs using Browser.EXTRA_APPLICATION_ID. Unfortunately, it appears that Firefox has not fully addressed this functionality. The EXTRA_APPLICATION_ID is a feature that modern browsers should ideally support to enhance user experience and maintain continuity within a single tab. I'm on Firefox 127.0 (42448) ios and all my private tabs were closed on update and now whenever I make a private tab it disappears after the app is closed or refreshes. It's kind of behaving like the setting where private tabs are closed automatically but when I looked in the privacy settings of firefox ios it's not there anymore. Does anyone else have this issue? I know theres an existing problem with tabs for firefox but I don't think this is exactly the same because my normal tabs are totally fine.

Hi @all, Such quite a while, Firefox almost constantly crashing when closing a or better the last open tab. Tried a support hint and deleted cache and everything and after that it worked for a few days and then it coming up again. When it happens, and I restart FF and try a logged in page directly, I.e. Facebook, FF doesn’t recognize my signin. Closing the tab, waiting a moment, restart the page again and everything is fine. Really don’t know when this behavior begun, but it is really annoying. I face this problem on 2 different iPad Pro. The newer one from last year with an M2 processor and an older one with an Axx don’t know which one exactly. What’s the matter with that? The behavior of Firefox on my iPad when long-pressing a link and selecting the “Open link in new tab” option is counter to how it should operate. It opens the link in a new background tab. It should open the link in a new tab and bring that tab to the foreground, like it does in the desktop app.
