If you experience horizontal lines appearing when scrolling after installing firefox possible fix is finding layers.acceleration.force-enabled and set to true after going to about:config in your address bar search for this and set it to true. My real question I ask myself is, why isn't this enabled by default when installing firefox? I swear I remember doing this last Win 11 install as well. My third time installing windows unfortunately, just had a nvme ssd drive fail on me. 😭😢 Ofc, it had to be my Gen 4, C: drive with my old User account on there as well. :// Lesson learned, always backup important data frequently as desired. :( Oh well, just lost all my saved games and few songs, no big deal I guess.

Firefox interferes with Shift+Control+Command+4 which should give me a drag icon to copy an area of a webpage. Sometimes it works and sometimes Firefox prevents me from selecting a part of the page to copy and instead opens up a new tab. I don't want a new tab, I want to make a copy of part of a page. How can I disable that "New tab" function so that I can make a copy of part of my screen? Sometimes I have to resort to doing Shift+Control+Command+3 and making a copy of the whole screen, then putting that in an email so I can make a copy of just the portion that I wanted from the page. I am considering switching to SAFARI as my default browser because this makes me so mad.

I changed email SMTP servers, incoming and outgoing. First I migrated IMAP on the cloud between old host and new host. I connected Thunderbird using existing a profile, just changed server information. After that email started coming into Thunderbird. I discovered a bunch of the filters had been disabled with no destination folder. Not all of them. Just maybe half. It knew the destination folder for the filter because it was at top of window when I would look at filter rule. I had to use that as guide as to what destination folder it should go to, and it filters fine.

Why were all these filters cleared of destination folder?

Hyperlinked text does not paste into Thunderbird email. Only the text pastes in. The hyperlinks do not. If I paste in text that has several hyperlinks already embedded only the text pastes in. The hyperlinks are lost. I must paste the hyperlinked text with the URLs. How do I do this. All searches are irrelevant. I know hot to insert URL into new text but that is not the issue. My text to be pasted already has many hyperlinks in the text and I do not want to laboriousness do them all again. When I paste in a paragraph of test that already has several hyperlinks I want that ALL to past in. How to I do this?

No idea what the cause is but I cannot download ANYTHING on my browser for some reason. Pictures, documents, executables, browser extensions. Tried downloading documents from email attachment.. fail Tried downloading VLC... fail Tried every default recommended solution, clean install, you name it. Mind you all of these files downloaded just fine perfectly via Microsoft Edge.

Noticed another abnormality. Changed the download folder to a custom one. Download failed and DELETED the folder for some reason.

I'm so annoyed by these notifications for utterly random websites / "news" that started after a recent update (see attached screenshot). I don't want these, bit also don't want to turn off notifications altogether. Thank you!

When I try to download messages on one of several POP3 accounts I get the error message Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox. and it keeps downloading the last message I received before the problem started.

I have tried repairing the folder, clearing cache and even turning off my anti-virus for Thunderbird but to no avail. No problems on my other accounts

Hi I'm using speed dial 2 on Firefox desktop. On Firefox Android I have not this possibility to set custom dials/sites on Start page and new tabs. When I try to use the built-in function I see pages from history. It's a big must and huge update to integrate a facility like this.

Everytime I open Firefox a new window opens suggesting I add the AVG extention, when I do I get a notification that AVG does not support that extention for Firefox. Why is the nonsupported extention being recomened

I can't deactivate the dark theme (the Themes Menu is inactive!), while another user has a light theme and works perfectly.

In addition, the writing of new messages is in white text on a white background!

How can I solve this problem. thank you in advance for your help

I had implement service worker for install resources and activate service worker and fetch the resources at offline.

When online service worker worked and once serve the resources to the cache then it will be stooped automatically

but when offline service worker block the local host and can not cache resource from cache. I am using firefox

126 version on window 11 system

Any settings are required or help me what will do for offline working in firefox using service worker

Firefox uses about half a gig on my disk, that's: '~/.mozilla' and '~/.cache/mozilla' can that be reduced? Either some setting that limits disk use or even a manual deletion of ancient stuff?

I use a Google Workspace account in Thunderbird. I have six main folders and each has sub-folders. I create search folders for each and favorite them so they’re across the top in TB. The individual emails then show up in each and I can chose to only show the unread ones. As far as I know TB is the only email program to allow this and it’s great. Recently I’ll be working away, pleased that I’m not getting inundated with emails, only to find out that I’m missing bunches of emails because the folders aren’t updating. I can open the individual folders and they’ll download new emails, which will then populate the search folders, but not getting to emails in a timely fashion is a problem. Anyone know what’s going on? TIA.

My @gn.apc.org (IMAP) inbox has a limited capacity to display, to keep important email. They simply drop-off the list. It currently saves only today's emails. This cannot be correct. I have attached a timeline. Appreciate some info & advice

Hey, I have been trying to figure out native Firefox solution for deleting firefox history after it's set number of days old. I did found solutions for older verions of firefox, and some addons, but nothing that's native or current.

I think having history is incredibly useful short term, lets say a week or some days, but I don't think I have ever had to dig trough my old history for something. Usually what you need is to find some page you closed recently or something. And while I would like to use deleting history after closing browser, it interferes with stuff that I'm logged in, reopening tabs after closing etc. And ofc, it actually deletes history which is useful short term.

This is both request for help and improvement. It would be nice to have option on "clear history when firefox closes" settings, to delete any selected data older than set number of days for instance. Or if there already isn't, something similar in about:config.
