I have Firefox version 80.0 installed and Thunderbird version 68 email app to view my email. All was working fine.---I click on Moz T-Bird logo on my Dell Windows 7 desktop computer and a screen appears showing all mail and folders, but now I cannot receive nor send any email. If I click on INBOX, I get a blue revolving circle that continues indefinitely without a message. If I click on SEND message, I receive a message which states: Peer using unsupported version of security protocol. The configuration related to mail.brainstorminternet.net must be corrected. I can log in to my ISP provider website which provides a web-based email interface and then log-in to view my mail. I called the company and checked to see if the IMAP was correct. It was. Hopefully you can offer some suggestions as to resolving this problem.

First I need to point out I'm very difficult user for FF :) Right now I have 52 windows and 476 tabs open

This not a hardware problem as I have good CPU (Ryzen 5 3600) and 64 gigs of memory - running FF 80.0.1 x64 on Windows 10 19041 x64

Until recently everything was fine - I'm not able to tell when that changed but it's just few days

When I start FF, some tabs (from "restore" session) never load. Tab just shows its loading but never finishes. Moreover if I try to open new tabs, they RANDOMLY also never load - doesn't matter which site/page (in other browser same url opens instantly). I need to open X new tabs, paste URL and hit enter into each and after a while the Xth tab loads instantly. X is changing - with freshly started browser its something like 2-4 new tabs. Later it can be 10 or more until "I find" the tab which loads. When I do that, i can open Dev Tools before pasting URL - Networking tab shows no requests, nothing. Same with right-clicking links in working tabs (open link in new tab).

Working tabs are usually good - left clicking links or F5 works fine. But if the tab is left open for some time without activity, it can also stop working (F5 doesn't help)

What i tried: - disable my Firewall (Kaspersky) - restart FF in safe mode without plugins - no "clear cache and cookies" as its not related to any specific site or page

I got the idea recently that maybe there is some problem with FF processes "rotting" (multi process architecture) so I'v tried to kill some of the sub-processes in Task Manager. Of course its hard to find the right one but I'v managed multiple times to hit the right process and suddenly all "loading forever" tabs showed as "crashed" and when I hit "Restart all crashed", all loaded instantly

Hi, my firefox doesn't seem to want to launch from the start menu for some reason (when I click it the start menu closes but Firefox does not open and isn't running in the background), however the shortcut that is created on the desktop seems to launch firefox perfectly well. However, when I do open firefox, it has a blank default icon as if its a random program. Could someone help me? This issue is getting quite annoying and tedious and I've had to switch to edge for a while now. I've been using Firefox about a year now and this hasn't happened before.

Steps I've taken:

  • Uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, deleted profile data too
  • Restarted PC

Help. Ok, I'm so confused. I didn't know there was such a thing as Lockwise. I didn't realize that I was setting it up or what. But I just tried to go into my passwords to find a password that I just set up for a new website that I just found, and now my passwords are making me put in a password just to see my saved passwords. What?? I tried putting all of my regular passwords in it and nothing is working. I can't get in to see my stored passwords now. I even disconnected Sync from Firefox and it's still doing it. Can anyone help me please?

Thank you for building Firefox and Thunderbird. My computer crashed two weeks ago and when I received my new computer I immediately tried to install Thunderbird. But I keep getting an error message "Unable to log into server. Probably wrong configuration, username, or password." I have double checked everything and I believe it is correct. My incoming settings are:

POP3 inbound.att.net 995 SSL/TLS Normal Password Michaelspence@att.net

My outgoing settings are:

SMTP outbound.att.net 465 SSL/TLS Normal Password Michaelspence@att.net

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall several times, but with no help.

I am able to access my email at att.net, but I really need Thunderbird so I can save important messages that I receive.

Next I expand "other bookmarks" then "choose" See 2nd screen capture

When I click on "choose" see what happens in the 3rd screen capture.

I can choose the sub folder to save the bookmark to. BUT I now CAN'T scroll down the screen to hit the save button. Because the bookmark window doesn't have a scroll bar or a way to make the bookmark window smaller. This is frustrating. Firefox is having other issues not connected with this issue. But the overall picture is getting me to the point of dumping Firefox and going to Google Chrome.

Frequently when on a website I will do a search, or try to print, and after issuing the command, FireFox just sits there and does nothing. I go to a different browser, log on to my account on the same website and it searches, prints or otherwise functions normally.

Here is an example where after hitting the search button on the website, FireFox sits and leave me a blank screen. Screen shot attached.

I have updated to the latest version of FireFox hoping that the problem would go away, but it persists. This is getting very frustrating, and since other browsers don't do this, it is drawing me away from Firefox, which I have used as my default browser for years.

Running TB 78.3.1 32 bit on Windows 10 64 bit. Ever since I have upgraded to 78 I have had the same problem: unless I run in Safe Mode, the windows of folder (eg inbox, junk...) contents do not refresh when I select a different folder. If I move the mouse pointer over the window contents, then the relevant lines that the mouse pointer is over are revealed, but not otherwise.

This still happens when add-ons (which I don't actually have many of - only add-on is a dictionary) are disabled. Only Safe Mode fixes it.

Any suggestions for how to fix this? I have already reset toolbars and controls - no difference

Hi together, today my automatic update (bad idea) from 68.xx to 78.2 crashed my complete thunderbird installation on a macbook pro 2019 with catalina 10.15.6.

After restart I have only the local folder showing up and some archive which I generated locally.

All mail folders with subfolders are gone.

It seams to be a Problem in the profile, in the profile folder all files are still there.

I did backup the profile and afterwords tried with ´/Applications/Thunderbird.app/Contents/MacOS/thunderbird-bin -ProfileManager ´ to generate a new profile in the existing profile folder.

With same outcome that I see nothing else then the earlier named local folder.

Did someone had the same issue and if so could fix it ?

The problem is that every time I try to sign in my account I see this message: "This account is not active. Please contact an administrator if you believe this is an error. " This message is looks like mozilla's prank, because someone needs to sign in first to get help! As I try to get help, "support mozilla" is drive me to an endless loop in Mozilla.org.

After several minutes (I think about 15minutes) I don't know why and how but I'm in! This is happened every time I try to sign in my account!

Why is so much time consuming and frustrating the way to sign in? What it means "This account is not active." and why don't given a reason why this happens or/and a way to fix? Why I can't just type the UN/Pass to sign in?

Since yesterday my Thunderbird is crashing right after it opens. Just a few seconds after it loads, it crashes and the Mozilla Crash Reporter comes up. I'm on a Mac OS 10.13.6 and have the latest version of Thunderbird.

Crash ID is: bp-9d476fe2-c377-4f9c-9908-b7fa80200924

I just erased all my profile files, trashed the Application that was in my machine and installed a new one from scratch. It worked for a few hours but crashed again. Opening in Safe Mode gives the same result.

Hi, Thunderbird 78.3.0 crashes randomly when I use this version. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and the same thing happens. The symptoms are: - I have the application open, I am working with a different application and it closes randomly. - It has also been closed to me by opening some mail and even receiving it, randomly.

I have had to go back to the previous version (78.2.0) and everything works fine.

Note: Windows 10 Pro Update 2004. Profile in shared folder. Kaspersky Endpoint.
