Ever since Nov 3 and the last Thunderbird upgrade, I cannot get my emails through Thunderbird, although I can send them OK. I tried changing from POP to IMAP as I thought that might be the problem, but I still don't get the emails. My provider says "not my problem." What else can I try?

Hi all., can you please help.

- I cant receive emails ( no new emails in my mailbox ) - I "see" sent emails - but people reported that they receive email from me.

As an emergency I am using Roundcube Webmail 1.3.11 web email now, works fine. My hosting and provider of email address is reporting no problems at all.

Sending you screenshot of what is happening on my screen. I did reinstall Thunderbird, no result.

Can please somebody help ?


HDD space, computer power ok Windows 10 2019 x64 Thunderbird v. 78.5.0 (32-bit) Using ESET NOD32 v14.0.22 as antivirus system and security

Hello Community,

I opened Thunderbird this morning and my Gmail email is not downloading. Also, it seems like I am able to send email messages but it gives me an error saying it can't save a copy to Sent folder due to network or file access errors.

The last time I was using my email was on Friday, 11/27 and everything worked as normal. Any help getting my Thunderbird working with Gmail again would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

When I logged in this morning, I didn't receive new messages. When I sent a message as a test, it said that while the message was sent, it would not be saved. Something happened happened overnight, because it was fine when I logged off.

Long time thunderbird user. 78.5.0 has been functioning on up to date windows 10 laptop up until this morning. It will not retrieve any new mail. No error messages.

Tried reboot. Tried uninstall/reinstall. No change.

Thunderbird 68.12.0 on a windows 7 desktop on the same home network is working fine. Not sure what else to try here. Any thoughts?

Hello, I use Thunderbird (since years) version 78.5.0 under Windows 10. This morning all was ok, but this afternoon it refuses to collect my mail. I searched for the problem in help for Thunderbird and found a solution : in the pop email server setup I changed the security of the connection to None (it was SSL/TLS). And it works. My question is : do I now have a security problem ? Thanks.

Sent mail not being saved in my sent mail folders.

When sending emails, TB has always filed them correctly in my IMAP sent folders. Today it comes up with a message Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in you… (читать ещё)

When sending emails, TB has always filed them correctly in my IMAP sent folders. Today it comes up with a message

Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder due to a network or file access errors

I can only save by selectic save to local folders.

Any ideas - it has completely cocked up my use of TB!!!!

Hello, Thunderbird has been updates automatically from v68.12.1 to v78.4.1 on my computer. Now the password is requested every time I launch Thunderbird. No password are registered in Option->Vie privée->Mots de passe enregistrés. The check box allowing to store the password to the password manager is not any more shown. Can you help me ?

I have used Thunderbird for a very long time. Currently on my desktop it is no longer receiving messages. Also when I go to send an email I get the following message.

Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders Sent-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. (The exclamation points is where my email address would be)

The email goes out but it is not saved locally.

On my laptop Thunderbird works just fine receiving both emails and sending emails. No problems there. Both systems are configured the same with firewall and antivirus (ESET). Both Thunderbird programs are also set to the identical settings for both the security and server settings.

Anyone have any thoughts on what I need to do. I have never experienced this issue before.

Yesterday morning, everything was working fine. Yesterday afternoon, it wasn't. I use Comcast and Thunderbird. I can send e-mail using Thunderbird but no e-mail is downloading from Comcast. I can view my Comcast e-mail on their web site. I am using Pop3 but I read something about adding IMAP so I tried to do that but I kept getting an error. I'm trying to figure out whether this is a Comcast or a Thunderbird problem before the painful experience of calling Comcast support. Any ideas?

I've been using Thunderbird for over 10 years and suddenly yesterday after an update to 78.5.0 it stopped receiving emails. It also started to raise an error when I send an email "Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent Mail) due to a network or file access errors."

When I select "Get all new messages", there is no response, no status message at the bottom of the window and no errors or other response.

I have rebooted and reinstalled Thunderbird - still no joy.

I have ESET Nod32 Antivirus and email still fails if I turn email scanning off.

I have several gmail accounts. They have worked for years. What changed?

Thunderbird 68.12.1 is working fine with these email accounts on a second computer I have.

Hi, I am Cristian Grava. I am using Thunderbird since a long time ago but since yesterday I didn't receive anymore my messages from yahoo (I tried with gmail but I have the same problem). I am using a pop.mail.yahoo.com, with port 995, SSL/TLS as I used since a long time ago. The status of Thunderbird is "Connected to pop.mail.yahoo.com ..." but nothing happens (usually ask me to introduce my password and after that downloads the messages but now nothing). I'm suddenly unable to send emails. Error message reads "peer using unsupported version of security protocol" " The configuration related to mail @activ8.net.au must be corrected". This happened immediately after what appeared to be an update of Thunderbird. I have been into settings to try and rectify the problem without success.

Using IMAP to download emails from Google Gmail:

Server settings: Server Name: imap.gmail.com Port: 993 Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication Method: OAuth2

Confirmed IMAP enable on Gmail and permission for Thunderbird to a access the Gmail account.

Details:

Have been using Thunderbird with Gmail for years with no problem. Just today it stopped downloading emails. Been trying several solutions on Mozilla support but no luck. Tried disabling firewall, also no change.

Thunderbird has been working fine up to today it has now stopped sending and receiving emails as have two other colleagues in my office we are all using gmail and windows 10 with eset anti virus. Emails are all appearing in gmail inbox and if i send an email from thunderbird it gets delivered but does not appear in sent folder in either Gmail or thunderbird. We have not changed any SMTP settings and all three laptops have the same problem from this morning
