i'm missing some of the default search engines in the bar ebay and amazon. i hit the button "restore default search engines" in setting to try and fix it no luck. only give me back wikipedia, bing, duckduckgo but not amazon and ebay two sites i visit a lot.

this been happening to me for the past year and every time i had to go in the c drive and delete the mozilla folders and reinstall firefox to get them back. then use it after a month or two later they disappeared for no reason. this only happens on my desktop and not my laptop how do i make this stop happening?

Debugging message filters and want to see the log. From message filters window I click box "Filter Log". It brings up the small config box of which a pic is attached. I can't find anyway to actually see or access the log. It must be hiding here somewhere ? ?

I have tried to clear the log so it is small in case it is large and takes long to load as I've seen elsewhere. No change.

I try to look this the "Activity Manage" which has some log like error messages but it is a mess of unordered seemingly random successes and some failures. This is another topic.

So, any guidance on how to use the filter log would be greatly appreciated.

Every day on the second or third tab the website will not load. If I open firefox again the site will load immediately. These can be bookmarked sites previously used one million times or linked sites embedded in a current tab. Your support pages have not helped. I'm about to ditch Firefox MS Edge!

I was using the latest version of Thunderbird 115.11.0. It stinks. It's slow and very buggy. It's the same on all my Windows 10 PCs. I have uninstalled it and went back to V78.13.0 (64-bit). It is MUCH better. And it retains features that were annoyingly removed in later versions.

Why do you keep "improving" Thunderbird when the older versions were perfectly good? Is this because you needed it to look "modern"? That's BS because it will look outdated by next year anyway.

Why did you change the configuration files? I had to re-enter my accounts and address book.

I am on a mailing list from the Smithsonian Magazine. I receive a daily email containing links to interesting stories. The links work and take me to the correct page, however, I am unable to scroll the page up to read the article. They used to scroll, but not now when I go there by clicking a link in the email. The email also contains a link named View in Browser, and the email appears in Firefox and I can scroll the email, but if I click on a link in that email displayed in the browser, the page still will not scroll up. Problem not present in Chrome or Edge. I previously reported this to Mozilla in Feedback and to the Smithsonian about 2 weeks ago, but still no change in his strange behavior. I'm an instructor that uses Blackboard at college. When I click in the text entry box to enter my grades, I'm given a list of previously entered grades to choose from. The list is in ascending order. Is there any way to get this list in descending order? One other point, until recently it used to display the value that was used most often at the top, which was often 100. Now it's in ascending order. I've attached a snippet of what I mean.

I just did a clean install on a new windows 11 machine. Every time I close Firefox I get a report crash screen from Firefox. When I close it and restart Firefox everything is fine, but very annoying! I have search every where with no luck for a fix. I did turn off my FSecure which made no difference If it continues I guess after all these years I will have to change browsers,which I don't want to do.

I was in the middle of asking this question when I fixed (worked around) the problem so I'm posting more as a informative post as there is a lot of old misdirection out there now.

I am(was) unable to drag any URLs from the URI drop down field in the main interface to my bookmarks toolbar. Nor was any drag and drop functionality working in the "Customise Firefox" screen (right click space on url bar -> Customise Toolbar).

I have now found that resetting my zoom setting in preferences to 100% restores this functionality. The problem arose when I was using 120% zoom, NOT text only.

Why Firefox could respond with VP8 to the H264 request?

I was running MacOS Catalina 10.5.6 and upgraded to Sonoma 14.5. I know it was stupid to wait so long, but that's where I am.

After many years of using Thunderbird, I stopped using Thunderbird for my email years ago because my old provider gave up the ghost, and I switched to gmail even though I loved Thunderbird. I still had many documents in Thunderbird which I didn't transfer to other applications or locations.

Today, I finally gave up and did a massive update on my MacOS. Now Thunderbird won't run, and I desperately need many of the documents that I could only access through Thunderbird. When I went to the site for updating Thunderbird, the first thing I needed to know was what version I had, and the instructions assume you can access that info as you are running Thunderbird, which I can't do now. Please help!

after the download of v.126.0 i discover my history, all of it, has been deleted. in its place is a single web site, which shows up as the only web site visited across a time span going back months. this single web site cannot be deleted from the history. it cannot be deleted through the settings menu. no new history is created by web visits. the persisting single web site is among the sites in my tool bar, but is also a site i have not recently visited (months before this happened).

I was looking for an item that would be a couple of years back in my history, only to discover that my history now only goes back a year and 3 months… Exactly, as of today, I don't know if that's meaningful. Does anyone have any idea what might've happened, and how I can restore the rest of my history? Thank you!

I'm on a Mac using Mojave, with Firefox version 115.8.
