My mozilla firefox browser keeps opening 3 new windows or 3 new tabs for facebook log in or sign up page about every 5 minutes. Is this malware/spyware, a virus or something else?
It just started in the last 3 to 4 days. I use facebook and play facebook games everyday and I use Stopzilla for malware/spyware and antivirus protection. I recently bought Reg Clean Pro to clean my registry and ran it. Could it have caused the problem?

Recently some sort of male-ware has been popping up windows when I make a secondary tab or click on a news item or some such. Also getting a small ad video in the lower right corner. These appear to happen separately. I followed the steps set forth in your help section. Downloaded Malwarebytes, ran it, still having the problem. Reset computer to a prev date. Still having the problem. Pop-up window comes up with firefox logo in the corner. Takes too long to load, I generally close it before I can see what the heck it really is. Popping up a lot tho and really becoming a problem. Please help. Thank you Tracy Lilly

Hi guys, Well, I think I bring here a very interesting thing for the Mozilla team. I found I have some sort of exploit which takes screen captures whenever I click on any web page. It is specially active whenever you are entering sensitive information like when I log-in onto site accounts, o whenever I check something on the bank. I checked processes using process explorer, and everything points at Mozilla being very active and nothing else. I check the creation of those screen captures and they are always, there. I normally kill every process which is not necessary, and the ones left are just essential. I ran several bootable antivirues like Eset, Kaspersky and Bitdefender and they don't detect anything weird. I removed from a bootable CD all temp files this "thing" creates while making files and take snap of my screen. I goes back on when you are back on Windows. I know that something was going on when on the bank site I had a AVG-antivirus alert saying that an exploit was active and gave me the option to remove it. Other than that, you don't feel a thing. As said, it goes back the alert everytime you visit the bank and some other log-ins, specially while banking. I also disable all Firefox add-ons, as well as the Java on my computer -I believe there's some connection with Java here-. I have the suspicion that it is pdf/exploit coz I saw a glimpse of that name while uninstalling something which I thing was Facemoods. Not too sure how it got there. So there, guys!! I don't know where this "thing" resides, really does -it could be doing more things-, or how to get rid of it. PS: I saw a while ago that I have to mozilla folder hanging from "program files". One is mozilla.bak. I'm digging into this now. Any shed on this, you pros!! I'm not a pro myself, yet I love IT :-) Thanks a bunch in advance to anyone taking the time to solve the one big problem Firefox has and is going to have in the short run. BR F

Okay. A few days ago, I suddenly began having issues with Firefox crashing every time I try to save any sort of file. It doesn't matter the type - image, file, etc.
I have tried everything I can find in the forums and troubleshooting sections.
I started Firefox in safe mode. Still crashed. I reset it. Still crashed. I rolled back to an earlier version. Still crashed. I deleted Firefox and did a clean install. Still crashed. I have checked for updates on all the plugins/add-ons/extensions. Still crashed. I updated my graphics drivers. Still crashed.
I can't even include a link to the most recent crash report because every time it crashes, I get a message that Firefox had a problem submitting the crash report. I'm out of ideas at this point. I have a lot of extensions installed and enabled, but even fresh from the new reinstall, before I added any of them back, the browser would crash whenever I tried to save anything.
Please help!

I have run scans using Norton Security Suite and Microsoft Safety Scan and cannot get rid of the Taskeng.exe malware. My guess is that because it shares the same name as a legitimate file, the virus software does not recognize it as malware. I also went on line for suggestions and tried opening the computer in Safe Mode to look for a second file with that name, but it does not appear. The Taskeng.exe malware diverts me from my Firefox homepage to Yahoo which slows Firefox when opening and it slows opening other sites as well. Suggestions?

Attempting to open firefox would result in an instant crash with the mozilla crash reporter opening right after I click to *open* firefox which is not new as reported here (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/960905). I uninstall firefox, and then I try to reinstall firefox but cannot. My PC is unable to open any google website, and any mozilla site. Using iexplorer I can search on bing, find firefox but cannot open the webpage with every other page working fine. Same results on opera browser which was not blocked. Cannot open gmail or any google related site. Finding a firefox install from an alternate site (http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/11220080/Firefox_33.0) like on TPB would result in a perfect download although I would be unable to install my newly acquired firefox.
I ran malwarebytes full scan, adwcleaner, trendmicro full scan, MBAR and micrsoft security essentials, nothing came up. Settled with combofix which found and got rid of whatever was doing this, believed to hijackware from this thread (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie8-windows_other/internet-explorer-wont-open-googlecom-or-any/df88416c-b9fc-40c7-ac11-a672d49fb9ba) except this applied to mozilla as well for an unknown reason. I'll post the combofix log if anyone requests.

I run Malwarebytes as a virus/spyware software on my computer, and recently I have been getting pop-ups from it telling me that certain IP addresses are trying to access my computer. They are 93.174.93.19 and 89.248.169.9. They are both linked to a server called Ecatel, based in the Netherlands. My virus software companies tell me that I need to contact you in an effort to find out how I can stop this or block this server. Ecatel has been linked to a huge amount of spam and virus websites. Can you please tell me how I can block these IP addresses from accessing my computer? Thank you very much,

I use Firefox (version 33.03 right now) as my main web browser. Recently, a number of regularly visited sites have started acting strange. I am also getting random pop ups telling me that I need to update my video player, or Java version (my version is current). I checked the "add ons" in the control menu, nothing looks out of place (2 nVidia 3D Vision plugin, one VLC Web plug in, one OpenH264 plug in from Cisco). I fired up IE 11 to see if it had the same issue. It did. When I opened up IE's control menu, and went to "manage add-ons", it showed the SecureWeb BHO from a company called Jelbrus LLC. I disabled it in IE 11, and it is running properly. I have run Windows Defender on a full scan. It says it found 1 item, which it said it deleted. I ran the freeware version of MalwareBytes Anti-Malware. It says it found 2 registry problems, and a PUP (Probably Unwanted Program). Asked it to quarantine the problems. Problem still exists with Firefox, ONLY. My questions are: a) why is it not showing up as an add-on or extension or service? and b) How do I get rid of this?

When I want to contact, say, customer service of a company and I use their email "form" on their website Firefox goes insane and opens 100 plus tabs and blinks, going so fast that I can't possibly shut down all of the tabs because it's making more than I can keep up with. This happens EVERY time I try to email from any other place rather than my personal provider. It's just Firefox that does this, not IE. I have to shut everything down, which means that whatever I'm working on gets lost. I'm about ready to dump Firefox. Can you stop this for me? I'm using Windows 7, IE 9. Cache is clean and no virus found

PLEASE help me with this problem, i am at point of giving up going online because of all the frustration. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give me.
