I just bought a new MacBook Air to replace a Windows 10 laptop which crashed about a week ago. I have my files backed up with Carbonite. I have found and downloaded a copy of my Firefox profile from Carbonite's website. I wanted to restore the profile to the new Mac computer. I have followed the instructions I found online to copy the specific files to the new profile. I finally got the bookmarks file to work, so my bookmarks are now transferred to the Mac. However, the passwords are still not showing up when I copy key4.db and logins.json to the new profile on the Mac. What can I do to get the passwords copied and restored to the Mac?

I do not know what version of Firefox I was running when the profile file was last backed up, but it was supposed to be running the current version when the laptop crashed last week. However, Carbonite shows the date of key4.db to be April of 2019 and the date of logins.json to be 10/8/2022. Should the files be newer? Would they be from an older version of Firefox that's not compatible with the current Mac version? I also just noticed that even though the bookmarks folder was dated 6/9/2024 in Carbonite, the restored bookmarks do not show some fairly recent bookmarks I added earlier this year. Is there any way to get my files back?

The Windows laptop that crashed is stuck in a loop and says it's trying to repair the hard drive. Is there a way to get it turned on but not booted up and connect it via a USB cable and transfer files to the Mac that way?

Using Thunderbird version 115.11.0 (64-bit) with Windows 7 OS and THREADING TURNED OFF.

When I receive a second reply to an email I've sent via one of my email service providers that uses an outlook365 server, my thunderbird view hides it beneath the first reply unless I manually intervene by clicking on the "greater than" sign associated with the first reply. When I do click on the first reply the greater than sign spins clockwise 90 degrees and the second reply appears below the first as if it were in a subdirectory.

The above behaviour is very inconvenient because I am prone to missing the second reply and have trouble anticipating its existence. Admittedly the unread second reply does change the first reply's text property to "bold" but I much prefer to see the new message without having to manually click on everything bold to check.

Another email service provider I use also has an Outlook365 server but second replies to emails are not hidden in its associated thunderbird inbox?

Can anything be done in thunderbird to stop this "feature" or is it absolutely fixed by service providers?

Hello all. Having updated Firefox a few days ago, we can no longer sign into Instagram. This happens only on Firefox, only since the last update, and Firefox is the same browser we have been using for years with Instagram. The problem is the cookie permission window for Instagram a) will not make a selection and b) will not disappear/close. We have attached a screenshot. There are no close tabs/buttons anywhere on this window, and we have looked the full length of the expanded window. As we have not changed any other setting, have not added any software, and this only happens on Firefox, we can only conclude that we have missed something which may have changed or been upgraded with your last update. This is quite urgent, as this is to manage the Instagram account of a wildlife conservation charity. So far we have tried reinstalling Firefox, clearing cookies, and deactivating/uninstalling all add-ons, however this has solved nothing. Could anyone suggest a solution please? Hello! I have the latest version of the Mozilla browser installed. The entire interface is installed in Russian. Mozila has a service for automatically translating website content into other languages. Unfortunately, the set of languages ​​does not include Russian, so that I could automatically translate information from sites, for example in Spanish, into Russian and read such information. In the settings I found a function to switch the language translation, but unfortunately there is no Russian language again. Please tell me how can I set up such a translation? Or is there no such service at all for the Russian language?

Would you please help me permanently remove cache2 folder from Local Folders please. I'm using Thunderbird 115.12.2 (64bit) on esr channel with Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 OS.

I don't want Local Folders / Cache2 folder (or incidently Inbox, Drafts, Archives, Junk, Deleted and Outbox) but Thunderbird highlight - right click - delete button doesn't get rid of it. I can temporarily delete the Doomed and Entries sub-folders with right click - delete - delete folder but they move to Deleted folder where once again they can be deleted the same way but when restarting Thunderbird they are back under the cache2 folder again.

Even after exiting Thunderbird and directly deleting the cache2 folder(s) in system AppsData - Local and Roaming Thunderbird profiles the cache2 folder (with persistent sub-folders) returns to my Local Folders when restarted.

If ignored I eventually end up having a cache2-1 folder etc.

I don’t know if it was an update that automatically installed or something but all my tabs keep closing when I exit the app. All my private tabs I had open are gone :/ and I keep trying to leave tabs open, close the app, and open it again and they all still get erased. I saw this was a problem last year too but didn’t see if there was a solution or not.

I am running thunderbird-115.12.2-1 and Arch Linux and have the following Problem:

- I am using Unified Folders - Online search is disabled - If I change the view in any Unified Folder with more than 1 source folder to grouped by Thunderbird freezes and sometimes crashes - It does not matter what the sort by value is - Any time I switch from a not grouped by unified folder back to grouped by Thunderbird freezes and crashes sometimes again - The length of the freeze depends on the numbers of source folders for the unified folder. E.g. for my Inbox with 11 source folders between 5 and 10 minutes

I already tried - disable all addons - clear the disk cache - set mail.server.default.use_condstore to true - delete global-messages-db.sqlite

Right now the group by feature is not usable for me but makes it so much more clearer that I don't want to miss it.

For the past couple of days when I watch videos on YouTube on my iMac it's VERY slow to start. Sometimes it takes minutes, at which point I have to refresh, and best case it takes about 1 minute to start.

I have cleared the startup cache, cleared cookies and restarted Firefox.

Also, YouTube works normally on both Safari and Chrome.

Not a super 'tech' guy so any basic steps I can take are appreciated.

Using TBird 115.10.1 64-bit on Windows 11. For ease of reading text in mail I am composing, I would like to select a large font size. In Settings | Fonts I chose Arial 18; but for some reason I get a small monospaced font whenever I start a new message. I can enlarge it with Ctrl-Plus, but it reverts to its old ways for the next new message. How can I make the change stick?

I'm trying to pair my Pocket account on my Kobo Clara. I've tried pairing using both my phone and Desktop using the Firefox browser on the most recent versions. When I press the authorize button I receive an error saying "There was a problem trying to connect this app to Pocket. Please try again." The Desktop site is a little more descriptive saying "Can't log in to Pocket We're currently experiencing intermittent issues logging in to Pocket accounts. We're working closely with Pocket to resolve the situation, and apologize for any inconvenience. Please try logging in later." I'm not sure if this a Pocket error or a Kobo error. But any help would be appreciated, thank you!

It has occurred to my Firefox Browser of the latest version of 115 with some websites I have recently visited however which appear 8 grids of blank or white pages under "Recent Activity" as attached with the image for your technical troubleshooting suggestion.

Those 8 grids of Recent Activity in the older version of Firefox browsers used to have shown colorful graphics or images representative of the recent websites I visited in the recent past.

May I know what I am supposed to do to recover those graphics or images?

Kindly offer any suggestion or solution?

When printing - print font continually changes. Is there a way to set the print font ?

When accessing print option, it is necessary to go in and out of print mode to get the page to print in desired font. Why is this happening, and is there a way to select a specific font where all printing will adhere to?

Hi! I have more than one device for Audio connected to my laptop. Obviously the default device provide by laptop but also I have a Jabra Headset EVOLVE 20 SE MS and Jabra Speaker SPEAK 510 USB/ Bluetooth. Also my webcam Logitech C930e provide a microphone.

When I use Google Meet, in Chrome I can select on Meet Audio Device Select the different microphone or Speakers but in Firefox I can only select the Default System Speaker.

I would like to know how to change between my Audio Devices for the output or can switch between my different speakers.
