My computer was recently newly restored and now I no longer have a "History" option on my tool bar and I can't figure out how to find it and get it back. It would show the history of every site I visited in the last day, week, and month.

Thank you, Julie

You can find toolbar buttons to open the bookmarks (star) and the history (clock) in the sidebar in the toolbar palette and drag them on a toolbar.

  • Firefox menu button > Options/Preferences > Toolbar Layout
  • View > Toolbars > Customize

There are two bookmark buttons with a star in the Customize window.
One star button has a drop marker that open a Bookmark menu (you may not see the drop marker in the Customize window).
The other star button without the drop marker opens the bookmarks in the sidebar.

Firefox can display history in 3 places (that I know of):

  • Drop-down menu from the classic menu bar (limited)
  • History Sidebar (you can open/close using Ctrl+h)
  • Library dialog (you can open using Ctrl+Shift+h or History > Show All History on the menu)

Do any of those match what you're missing?

If you previously had a clock-like icon on your toolbar that opened the History sidebar, you can use the Customize feature to get that back on your toolbar. This article describes how to customize: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.

Any luck?

Quick response! I tried Ctrl + h and there is was! This used to be visible on tool bar, but this is just fine.

Much appreciated.
