why can I not uninstall "here maps" and why does the deny geolocation return to ask even though I set it to deny. Geolocation is a data usage cost I don't want
I don't use "here maps" and would like to uninstall it but can't. I don't want to be tracked and really don't want to pay for data charges tracking me entails. I set geolocation to deny and they revert back to accept. That is not "the way I want" or an "open" OS. How do I uninstall "here maps"

Hi Bruce61, HereMaps is preloaded onto some of the phones, to better understand how to do this can you please provide the following information:
- What is the model of your phone? (ZTE Open, LG Fireweb or Alcatel OneTouch Fire)
- What is the OS version found in the Device Information page? Please visit this link if you need help finding the Build ID of your phone.
- Please provide the exact steps you are taking to try to uninstall.
- Who is your current cell phone carrier?
- How often do you encounter this issue?

I have a zte open that is unlocked. the os version is open_us_dev_ffos_v1.1.0b02, updated from the official zte download site using the sd card method. I go to the app permissions, here maps, and the option for uninstall is not available to activate. I can deny geolocation but have found it at ask after power off and restart. I would also like to uninstall the adaptive app search option as it has no bearing on my phone needs. Data usage is not free and that seems to be the only purpose for this application, maybe assign it an icon and put it on the apps page, not on the home page in such an obtrusive manor, to much clutter.

thanks rmcguigan but to say if you don't like it do it yourself is not an answer, its an excuse. If I could, I would. because I can't I donate, so I did. The question is: Why is there no uninstall option in the base image for applications that cost the handset owner data charges they don't want. I purchased the handset because the advertisement was for a better way, I feel slightly misled but have not given up on the mission, I have an investment, but don't want to display my location to unknown sources and then pay them for the info. If you are capable of development sir rmcguigan, please help and post an updated version, preferably sd card install, I can do that. thanks
Bruce Help with Marketplace purchases, however on the open build you can uninstall HereMaps.
