How can I get Firefox to work?

I am unable to get Firefox to work. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program and created a new profile to no avail. When I open Firefox and type in a website address or attempt to complete a search, nothing happens. When entering a website, it just disappears, Please help!

Have you checked your firewall? Maybe it is blocking access to the Internet for Firefox, if it was updated.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
