it keeps flashing in the connecting tab.. it shows briefly then nothing. it won't go or do anything, please help
i try to open firefox and it briefly shows the home page then goes blank. the tab just keeps flashing from connecting tab to new tab over & over again. it takes forever to even have the drop down of help, tools etc. i have 16.0.1 it was working fine 2 days ago.. but yesterday it just stopped. i was wondering if i can't fix it & have to reinstall it.. would all my info be lost.. all my sites & bookmarks.. or is there a way to keep them?
i have windows 7 & use microsoft essentials.. did something update & change my settings?
please help.. i love firefox.. i am on IE9 now..

hello idahosusie, it sounds like a theme or extension might be interfering here. please try launching firefox in safe mode once and see if the issue is occurring there too. in case it's working correctly, please go to firefox > addons > extensions and disable/remove any extension that look suspicious/you didn't install intentionally or that might interfere with the tab loading behaviour.

i can't open the add on page.. it just keeps flashing in the tabs. how else can i get to that page?

ok.. i found out how to start in safe mode.. & it worked.. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH.
can you open firefox in safemode successfully? before doing this please close all other running firefox windows & press the shift key while opening firefox again (or go to start > run & open firefox -safe-mode). during safemode it should be possible to access the addons window. you also could try the reset option...
edit: ok, just noticed you got it working anyway ;-)

i just took off anything that i don't use or that was new. sorry i can't remember the exact ones. 1 was yahoo bar. & one was bcool.
